Abstract

This study developed and validated the Self-Control, FOMO, and Phubbing scales for high school students using a psychometric approach. Content validity was assessed through Aiken's V, which showed a CVR greater than 0.78, while empirical validity testing identified 44 of 56 items as valid. The reliability test yielded a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.90 (highly reliable), and the data met the assumptions of normality (Shapiro–Wilk: Self-Control, p = 0.437; FOMO, p = 0.257; Phubbing, p = 0.123) and homogeneity (Levene's, p = 0.221). EFA analysis yielded a KMO of 0.654, with five factors explaining 70.20% of the variance. CFA produced a model fit that was close to good (CFI = 0.851; TLI = 0.826; RMSEA = 0.0961; SRMR = 0.0918). The study's results concluded that this scale is valid, reliable, and capable of accurately measuring phubbing tendencies. The findings confirm that self-control plays a crucial mediating role in reducing FOMO-induced phubbing. The novelty of this study lies in the development of an instrument that has been comprehensively validated and culturally adapted for the Indonesian adolescent context, unlike previous studies that only adapted foreign scales without thorough validity testing. This scale can be used as a diagnostic tool and a basis for preventive interventions to enhance digital literacy and mitigate the negative effects of excessive digital engagement on adolescents. Keywords: adolescents, FOMO, phubbing, psychometrics, self-control

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Analyze the linear influence of teacher educational background on student learning motivation at SMAN 1 Ngantang. (2) Determine the significant differences in student learning motivation taught by teachers with linear and non-linear educational backgrounds at SMAN 1 Ngantang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. This approach was chosen to test the linear influence between teacher educational background on student learning motivation in Senior High School (SMA). This study was conducted at State Senior High School (SMA) 1 Ngantang, located in Ngantang District, Malang Regency, East Java. To measure students' learning motivation and teachers' educational backgrounds, this study will use an existing questionnaire validated in previous similar studies. The use of instruments that have been tested for validity and reliability enables more accurate data collection and reduces the potential for measurement bias. The results of the study show that the regression equation Y = 84.194 + 0.129X indicates that the linearity of teacher educational background has a positive relationship with student learning motivation. Based on the t-test results, a significance value of 0.462 > 0.05 was obtained, thus concluding that the linearity of teacher educational background does not significantly influence student learning motivation. The results of the coefficient of determination (R²) test showed an R-square value of 0.022, which means that the linearity of teacher educational background only contributes 2.2% to student learning motivation, while the remaining 97.8% is influenced by factors outside the research variables.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the planning and development of Indonesia’s education system by focusing on four key pillars: strategic planning, educational needs assessment, quality and relevance planning, as well as efficiency and equity in education. A qualitative approach was employed using a systematic literature review design, drawing on academic publications and policy documents published between 2021 and 2025. Data analysis was conducted through thematic content analysis. The findings indicate that educational strategic planning has shifted toward more participatory and data-oriented practices, although limitations in human resource capacity remain a challenge. Educational needs assessment serves as a crucial foundation for designing targeted programs, particularly in addressing disparities in literacy, numeracy, and teacher distribution. Furthermore, quality and relevance planning emphasize the development of 21st-century competencies and alignment with labor market demands through adaptive curriculum policies. Meanwhile, issues of efficiency and equity continue to pose challenges, especially in terms of resource allocation and access to education in disadvantaged regions. Therefore, the integration of these four pillars is essential to achieving a high-quality, inclusive, and sustainable education system

Abstract

This research aims to map and analyze the problems of education policy synchronization between the central and regional governments within the framework of regional autonomy in Indonesia. Regulatory misalignment is often a major obstacle to the equitable distribution of national education quality. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a document study and public policy analysis approach. The research results show that the "tangled thread" phenomenon of policy is triggered by overlapping administrative authorities, differing budget priorities, and weak cross-sectoral communication. These findings emphasize that governance harmonization requires standardization of operational procedures that are flexible yet nationally controlled. Education information system integration and strengthening vertical-horizontal coordination are crucial solutions to ensure central policies can be implemented effectively at the regional level without ignoring local wisdom contexts. Educational bureaucracy reform must be directed at creating a responsive and collaborative policy ecosystem to achieve the targets of superior human resource development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the Pagar Sapa interactive learning tool in encouraging student engagement, participation, and understanding while highlighting the critical role of teachers as educators, facilitators, and motivators at MI Muhammadiyah 3 Ngunut. A qualitative research design was employed, using classroom observations and in-depth interviews with teachers and students. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns related to student engagement and teachers’ roles in optimizing learning experiences through the Pagar Sapa media. Findings show that the Pagar Sapa media significantly increased student participation, motivation, and conceptual understanding in learning mathematics. Teachers effectively integrated Pagar Sapa to foster an interactive learning environment, aligning with their three primary roles. As educators, teachers provided structured and engaging explanations; as facilitators, teachers developed and adapted learning materials to meet students’ needs; and as motivators, they encouraged active participation and boosted students’ confidence through positive reinforcement. This study emphasizes the importance of equipping teachers with the skills to use interactive media effectively and to improve mathematics teaching through engaging, student-centered methodologies.

Abstract

The era of Society 5.0 demands the integration of digital technology in various aspects of life, including education. This study aims to analyze digital technology-based educational innovations in improving the quality of learning. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach based on various journals, books, and research reports. The results indicate that the use of digital technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), artificial intelligence, and interactive learning media can enhance student engagement, learning effectiveness, and learning outcomes. However, challenges such as the digital divide, teacher competence, and limited infrastructure remain major obstacles. Therefore, a comprehensive implementation strategy is required to maximize the use of technology in education.
