Abstract

This research aims to find out what the product of English materials at tenth grade of SMA N 1 Metro and to know the experts’ validation and students’ acceptability on Android-based English materials. The type of this research is Research and Development. The researcher uses ADDIE model. The subjects are 32 students in X IPS 2 class. The data collecting technique is using questionnaire and interview. The data analysis technique is descriptive analysis. The result indicates that (1) the validation of material expert I on android-based English material in content aspect obtained a total score of 94 and aspect of language obtained a total score of 96 is in a very good category. Furthermore, the result of expert II in content aspect obtained a total score of 92 and aspect of language obtained a total score of 88 is in a very good category; (2) the validation of media expert I in view aspect obtained a total score of 93 and aspect of presentation obtained a total score of 100 is in a very good category. Whereas the result of expert II in view aspect obtained a total score of 83 and aspect of presentation obtained a total score of 95 is in a very good category; (3) the students’ responses on android-based English material is in a very good category with the percentage of 96%. It can be concluded that Android-based English material is very easily to use at SMAN 1 Metro. The researcher recommends for the next researcher to develop Android-based English material with other design.

Abstract

In language teaching, media is one of the tools that very useful to support its successful teaching. In teaching pronunciation, the students need to give additional information how to pronounce words. One of the ways is by using Youtube pronunciation videos. By using Youtube pronunciation videos, the students will get more input and knowledge how to pronounce words from the native. The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant influence of watching Youtube pronunciation videos towards students’ pronunciation ability. There were two variables in this research, the independent variable (X) was Youtube Pronunciation videos and dependent variable (Y) was the students’ pronunciation ability. The research method used was experimental design. The researchers dealt with two classes, they were an experimental class and a control class. In the experimental class, the researchers used Youtube pronunciation videos, whereas in control class the researchers did not use any media. Each class received the same pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was the second year students of MAN 1 Model Bandar Lampung. The samples of this research were two classes consisting of 90 students. In collecting the data, the researchers used reading aloud test as the instrument.After doing the data analysis, it was found that there is a significant influence of using videos towards students’ pronunciation ability. It can be seen from the result of the T test that T-observed was 5.34615, and the result of T-critical was 1.67. It means that T-observed was higher than T-critical (T-observed> T-critical). Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted. This result means that there is significant influence of watching Youtube pronunciation videos towards students’ pronunciation ability.

Abstract

The spread of Covid 19 has changed the educational learning system and learning strategies. The use of unlimited charge of internet, easiness of access, and the online classroom situation might change the students’ strategies in learning. Thus, this study aimed to investigate types of writing strategies and factors underlying the strategies preferences by EFL as Z generations Muhammadiyah University of Metro Academic year 2022/2023. The researcher conducted a descriptive qualitative study. The data were collected through 47 items of 5-Likert questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire consists of six strategies such as memory, metacognitive, compensation, cognitive, affective, and social. In regards to the first research question, the result revealed that the participants were medium strategy users with affective strategies to be the most dominant Nstrategies used. Then, followed by metacognitive, compensation, memory, and social strategies with cognitive to be the least strategies used. To respond objectives related to the internal and external factors underlying the participants’ preferences in selecting the strategies they chose, the researcher found internal factors consisting of self-motivation, self-confidence, lack of knowledge and feeling of under pressure. While external factors including the teacher's teaching style, classroom atmosphere, materials, and writing aspects.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether employing the team word-webbing strategy had any appreciable impact on students' reading comprehension of descriptive texts for the eleventh graders at SMK Ma'arif NU 1 Purbolinggo Lampung Timur. In this study, the researcher employed quantitative research using a quasi-experimental approach. Pre-test and post-test were utilized as the tests instruments. Two classes are XI AK 1 and XI AK 2, each class consisted of 40 pupils, served as the sample. The evaluation of the test results places a strong emphasis on the students' ability to comprehend the text. Data analysis utilizing the t-test formula and test analysis using the normality and homogeneity tests are both necessary. Pre-test scores for the experimental group and control group as a whole averaged 64.33 and 65.30, respectively. In contrast, the experimental group's post-test scores were higher than the control group, coming in at 75.80 for the experimental group and 69.80 for the control group. It may be said that using Team Word Webbing in the classroom has a major impact on students' reading comprehension.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pengabdian masyarakat yang yang berjudul “Revitalisasi Ta’mir Masjid Untuk Meningkatkan Pelayanan Kepada Umat” ini bertujuan untuk berpartisipasi dalam mengoptimalkan peran takmir masjid untuk meningkatkan pelayanan kepada umat. Judul ini dipilih sebagai pengabdian masyarakat karena peran takmir masjid sangatlah penting untuk meningkatkan pelayanan umat. Agar maksimal dalam melayani umat, pengusul akan memberikan pelatihan pada ta’mir masjid khairul huda, ta’mir masjid nurul yaqin dan ta’mir masjid yang ada di desa sumbergede, kecamatan sekampung, kabupaten lampung timur. Pelatihan ta’mir ini diperlukan karena untuk memberikan pelayanan yang maksimal kepada para jama’ah, takmir perlu diberikan pelatihan sehingga takmir memiliki pemahaman yang baik bagaiman mengelola masjid dengan baik. Selain itu, pengusul pun akan memfasilitasi adanya perbaikan pada tempat wudhu, kamar mandi, pengadaan alquran dan buku agama lainnya, iqra (TPA) dan perlengkapan kebersihan. Ini semua dilakukan, agar ta’mir masjid khairul huda dan nurul yaqin dapat melayani jamaah dengan maksimal dan para jamaah masjid (khairul huda dan nurul yaqin) dapat melaksanakan ibadah dengan nyaman dan khusuk.Kata kunci : Revitaslisasi, Ta’mir Masjid, Pelayanan Umat ABSTRACTThe community service entitled "Revitalization of the Ta'mir Mosque to Improve Services to the People" aims to participate in optimizing the role of the takmir of the mosque to improve services to the people. This title was chosen as community service because the role of the mosque takmir is very important to improve community service. In order to maximize serving the people, the proposer will provide training to the ta'mir of the Khairul Huda mosque, the ta'mir of the Nurul Yaqin mosque and the ta'mir of the mosque in Sumbergede Village, Sekampung District, East Lampung Regency. This ta'mir training is necessary because in order to provide maximum service to the congregation, the takmir needs to be given training so that the takmir has a good understanding of how to properly manage a mosque. In addition, the proposer will also facilitate repairs to the ablution area, bathrooms, procurement of the Koran and other religious books, iqra (TPA) and cleaning equipment. This is all done, so that the ta'mir of the Khairul Huda and Nurul Yaqin mosques can serve the congregation optimally and the congregation of the mosque (Khairul Huda and Nurul Yaqin) can carry out their worship comfortably and solemnly. Keywords: Revitalization, Ta'mir Mosque, Public Service

Abstract

Speaking is considered as an important skill to be accomplished by students. Speaking is related to the pronunciation of words that aim to convey what is to be conveyed both of feelings or ideas. However, there were some problems that make human could not express their ideas. They are such as difficult to pronounce the words, low vocabulary, and misunderstanding. The main purpose of this research is to know whether Three-Step Interview Technique effective towards students’ Speaking Ability at eleventh grade of MA Darul A’mal Metro. The population of the research was the students on the eleventh grade in MA Darul A’mal Metro. The sampling technique was random sampling technique. The researcherschose social and science class as the sampling. Based on the result of data analysis, the mean score of post-test in experimental class was13.26 and the mean score of post-test in control class was 12.00. It showed that the students’ post- test score in experimental class was higher than students’ post-test score in control class. The result can be seen from sig. (2-tailed) of the equal variance assumed in the independent sample test table which the sig. (2-tailed) is 0.043. It is lower than α = 0.05 and it means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It showed that there was significant influence of using three-step interview towards students’ speaking ability at the first semester of the eleventh grade of MA Darul A’mal. Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengajarkan masyarakat, terutama anggota Pimpinan Cabang Aisyiyah (PCA) Metro Utara tentang pentingnya mengelola sampah dengan baik. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk penyelenggaraan seminar dan workshop pemanfaatan sampah buangan rumah tangga. Pada kegiatan seminar tersebut, para peserta diajak mengenali jenis-jenis sampah sisa pembuangan rumah tangga, bahaya lingkungan, dan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan workshop pemanfaatan sampah plastik daur ulang botol plastik bekas air mineral yang mudah ditemukan di banyak tempat. Luaran dari program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dan menghasilkan produk daur ulang yang bernilai ekonomis. Meskipun masih ada orang yang membuang sampah sembarangan, tapi program ini membantu meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterlibatan masyarakat dalam menjaga lingkungan. Penanganan masalah sampah ini dapat dilakukan secara gotong-royong bersama masyarakat melalui komunitas dengan membentuk kelompok pengelola bank sampah yang nantinya juga dapat berdampak positif pada perekonomian masyarakat. Meskipun ada tantangan seperti masalah dana dan partisipasi masyarakat, tapi ada peluang untuk mengembangkan program ini lebih lanjut melalui inovasi dan kemitraan. Program ini merupakan langkah awal yang penting untuk ikut berpartisipasi dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dengan mengelola sampah secara baik dan memberdayakan ibu-ibu anggota Aisyiyah Metro Utara untuk dapat menambah income keluarga dengan membuat barang-barang kerajinan dari sampah daur ulang.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan salah satu dari lima masalah kesehatan utama di Indonesia. Salah satu faktor penyebab stunting adalah orang tua yang memberikan makanan tambahan (MPASI) kepada anak balita dengan lebih fokus pada sayur-sayuran daripada protein hewani karena harga protein hewani yang relatif tinggi. Di kota Metro, potensi ikan lele sebagai sumber protein hewani sangat melimpah, sehingga dapat menjadi alternatif dalam pencegahan stunting. Program ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengembangkan strategi edukasi serta inovasi pangan berbasis potensi lokal yang efektif dalam mencegah stunting pada anak usia dini. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui presentasi dan penjelasan langsung mengenai cara pengolahan abon ikan lele. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan orang tua tentang stunting dan cara mengolah ikan lele yang kaya akan protein hewani, sehingga mereka dapat lebih efektif mencegah stunting sejak dini.

Abstract

Animation has many benefits such as clearer and attractivelearning, the learning process is more efficient, effective because students canrepeat it as needed, can improve the quality of learning outcomes, and can overcomethe limitations of space and time between teachers and student.This study of learningmedia in the form of animated videos will be very helpful for teachers and students asan attractive learning media and make it easier for students to learn and understandEnglish subjects, especially in speaking skill on descriptive text material. The type ofthis research are research and development (R&D). The models of this research areADDIE model. There are five steps in ADDIE model; analysis, design, development,implementation, and evaluation. Assessment on video animation by media expertsand material experts gets a percentage 79% and 82%. Students and teachers gave apositive assessment that is 82% and 96%, each assessment was in the very goodcategory.

Abstract

Cohesion is the relation between one sentences and another sentence, it refers to the meaning in the sentence. Cohesion is divided into twotypes; grammatical cohesion and lexical cohesion. This research analyzegrammatical and lexical cohesion types in the song lyric of Q1 Album by Gamaliel.The objectives of this research were to identify the kinds of grammatical and lexicalcohesion found in the song lyric and to know the most dominant type found.Descriptive qualitative method was used to classify and analyze the data. Thisresearch applied the theory of Halliday and Hasan to identify the types ofgrammatical and lexical cohesion. The researcher found 217 cohesion items whichconsist of 181 references, 1 substitution, and 16 conjunction in grammaticalcohesion. While in lexical cohesion, there are 11 reiteration (9 repetitions, 1synonym, and 1 general word) and 8 collocations. The most dominant type ofgrammatical cohesion is personal reference with 121 items or around 55.7% andrepetition with 9 items or around 4.1% in lexical cohesion.
