Abstract

The obligation of a student after acquiring knowledge and practice is to impart it to others. Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKNT) is one of the activities aimed at disseminating knowledge within the community. One of the places where KKNT is practiced is the village of Muara Uwai, Bangkinang Subdistrict, Kampar District, Riau. This village faces several issues, including the community's limited religious education, their inability to read the Quran properly, and children's lack of proficiency in religious practices. These issues are addressed by utilizing available assets, such as mosques and Quranic houses for teaching. The research employed the Action Research method with the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) model. The results indicate that KKNT activities have improved religious education, Quranic reading skills, and knowledge of proper religious practices among the children and youth of Muara Uwai. However, the research also identified challenges in enhancing religious education among mothers and their Quranic reading abilities due to time constraints, which make it difficult for them to participate in activities organized by KKNT students, given their predominantly farming professions

Abstract

In this global era, like it or not, we have to deal with technology, especially information technology. This is because the technology has affected our daily lives. Therefore, we should not 'stutter' technology. Many research results show that those who are late in mastering information, then it is too late to get opportunities to advance. This is as stated by Alfin Toffler that those who do not master science and technology, then their position will be marginalized and they will be blown away by the wave of globalization which is full of competition. In this modern era, information and communication technology has developed so rapidly. Information and communication technology has penetrated and penetrated so deeply into various aspects of human life. The application of information technology in education is a real and factual challenge. It is undeniable that advances in information technology have had a positive impact on the advancement of education today. Especially computer and internet technology, both in terms of hardware and software, provide many offers and choices for the world of education to support the learning process. The advantage offered lies not only in the speed factor for obtaining information but also in multimedia facilities that can make learning more interesting, audiovisual and interactive. In line with the development of internet technology, many learning activities can be carried out by utilizing this technology.

Abstract

Research on Arabic language immersion has predominantly focused on learning effectiveness within classroom contexts, while studies that integrate social, institutional, and implementation dynamics in residential-based educational settings remain limited. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the dynamics of the language immersion model in the I’dad Lughah Program at STAI As-Sunnah Deli Serdang, as well as to identify its implementation strategies and the challenges encountered in practice. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings reveal that the language immersion model is not merely implemented as a pedagogical approach but as an ecological system that integrates formal learning and social practice through a language environment (bi’ah lughawiyah). The implementation strategies include the use of Arabic as the medium of instruction, an immersion-based curriculum, the presence of native speakers, and structured language activities. However, its effectiveness is influenced by several challenges, such as limited use of technology, restrictions on digital access, inconsistent use of Arabic among students, and the heterogeneity of students’ initial language proficiency. These findings offer a conceptual contribution by extending the language immersion model from a classroom-based approach to an ecosystem-based model that emphasizes the interaction between environment, institutional regulation, and social practice. Theoretically, this study enriches the global discourse on language immersion by highlighting the importance of integrating social and institutional dimensions in second language acquisition. Practically, it recommends strengthening adaptive immersion strategies, including the optimization of technology use and differentiated instruction, in order to enhance the effectiveness of Arabic language learning in residential higher education contexts.
