Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dan minat belajar siswa setelah penerapan LKS inkuiri terbimbing. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan nonequivalent control group design yang dilaksanakan pada kelas XI IA di SMA Negeri 11 Banda Aceh tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan non-random purposive sampling (menurut tujuan). Pada kelas eksprimen menggunakan LKS inkuiri terbimbing dan pada kelas kontrol menggunakan LKS konvensional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest-postest, dengan menggunakan soal tes KPS dan angket minat siswa untuk mengetahui minat belajar siswa. Tes yang diberikan untuk mengukur KPS adalah tes soal KPS dengan materi fluida statis dan untuk mengukur minat menggunakan angket minat. Hasil analisis data dengan menggunakan uji-t terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada hasil N-gain soal tes KPS dan hasil analisis uji-t berdasarkan total skala minat kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan LKS inkuiri pada materi fluida statis dapat meningkatkan KPS dan minat belajar siswa

Abstract

The goal of education in the twenty-first century is to raise students' scientific literacy. According to the PISA study, Indonesian students have very low levels of scientific literacy, which can be attributed to curricular factors, teacher effectiveness, and student characteristics. Educating future physics teachers about literacy is important because it shapes their behaviour, thought processes, and sense of responsibility for the cosmos and society. Using a mixed methods, this study assesses the scientific literacy of UINAR students aspiring to become physics teachers. The findings indicate that a sufficient 56.27 is the average scientific literacy ability. The learning process is primarily conceptual in nature, with little emphasis on the development of critical thinking skills or enthusiasm for solving scientific literacy problems.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is known as the ability to read, understand, evaluate, use scientific knowledge and information to think critically. This study aims to describe the scientific literacy ability profile of students on Newton's law of gravity at the level of MAN 1 Aceh Besar in physics lessons. In the context of scientific literacy includes competency and knowledge aspects. This research is in the form of a qualitative descriptive research carried out using a question instrument on aspects of competence and aspects of knowledge. The competence aspect contains three indicators, namely (1) explaining scientific phenomena with a percentage of 64%, (2) evaluating and designing scientific investigations with a percentage of 26%, (3) interpreting data and providing scientific evidence with a percentage of 43%. Then the knowledge aspect contains three indicators, namely (1) low-level cognitive gets a percentage of 54% with the predicate "less", (2) medium-level cognitive gets a percentage of 36% with the predicate "very less", (3) high-level cognitive gets a percentage of 20% with the predicate "very less".

Abstract

Model pembelajaran menjadi faktor penting saat dilakukan proses pembelajaran karena model pembelajaran merupakan suatu rencana yang membantu berdasarkan keberlansungan proses belajar dan dapat terlaksana sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran. Sehingga diperlukan penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning  (PBL) berbasis eksperimen untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada materi getaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menerapkan model pembelajaran problem based learning  (PBL) berbasis eksperimen untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar peserta didik (2) mengetahui hasil observasi yang didapatkan melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbasis eksperimen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalahimetode ipenelitian ieksperimen (The Non-Equivalent Group Design). Hasil yang diperoleh dari tiga orang observer yaitu pada kelas eksperimen skor nilai rata-rata untuk Pelaksanaan = 89%, Reaksi = 89% dan Keaktifan = 84% dengan kategori sangat aktif. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol skor nilai rata-rata untuk Pelaksanaan = 53%, Reaksi = 55% dan Keaktifan = 51% dengan kategori kurang aktif. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning berbasis eksperimen dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada materi getaran di SMP Negeri 1 Simpang Ulim.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of an E-Booklet centered on temperature and heat materials. Employing the Research and Development (R&D) methodology, the research adheres to the Alessi and Trollip model, progressing through planning, design, and development stages. Validation instruments, encompassing validation sheets for both material and media, were employed. The validation process involved six material experts, including lecturers and teachers, along with three media experts. Results demonstrate the high feasibility of the developed E-Booklet for temperature and heat materials, attaining an average score of 95.58%, categorized as "very feasible." Material expert validation from lecturers yielded an average score of 97.87%, categorized as "very decent," while validation from teachers resulted in an average score of 94.12%, also categorized as "very decent." Media expert validation produced an average score of 94.75%, falling within the "very decent" category. In conclusion, the developed E-Booklet for temperature and heat materials proves highly suitable for integration into the learning process. Implications of the study highlight the importance of integrating innovative digital resources to enhance educational experiences. This research contributes to advancing educational practices through the creation of effective and engaging digital learning materials in the field of temperature and heat.

Abstract

Ketapang fruit (Terminalia catappa L.) and tamarind fruit (Tamarindus indica L.) contain electrolytes that have the potential to serve as alternative energy sources for bio-batteries. This study aims to examine the effect of fermentation duration of extracts from both fruits on pH, electrical voltage, electrical current, and electrical power. This is an experimental study. The fruit samples were fermented for 10 days with varying concentrations of 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 ppm for each solution. Measurements were carried out using a digital pH meter and a multimeter to determine the electrochemical characteristics. The results showed that the pH of the solution tended to increase during fermentation, with the lowest pH recorded on day 0 in the tamarind solution (250 ppm, pH 6.4) and the highest on day 10 in the ketapang solution (50 ppm, pH 8.1). The electrical voltage of the ketapang solution at all concentrations showed a fluctuating trend. The electrical current consistently showed negative results (-0.010 to -0.020 mA), indicating that the direction of charge flow was opposite to conventional outputs. The electrical power was directly proportional to the voltage and current but showed instability in the ketapang solution. The alkalization process during fermentation contributed to changes in the electrochemical properties of the solution. The increase in pH influenced ion conductivity and electrochemical mechanisms, such as the movement of hydroxide ions (OH-minus). This study indicates that ketapang and tamarind fruits can be utilized as alternative energy sources for bio-battery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students learning motivation in the Science (IPA) subjects at MAS Darul Ulum Banda Aceh. Qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 15 IPA students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected through interviews and direct observations of the teaching and learning activities. The findings reveal that students motivation is influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors, such as interest, curiosity, and personal goals, play a significant role in enhancing students motivation. External factors, including parental encouragement, peer support, and the social environment, also contribute substantially to their learning motivation. Major challenge identified was students' lack of interest in IPA, as they perceive it as irrelevant to their future educational and career goals. The teacher's influence was found to be crucial, particularly when employing interactive teaching methods like practical activities and out-of-class experiences, which effectively increase students' engagement and understanding of IPA. Furthermore, a conducive classroom environment also plays a role in motivating students, although individual characteristics influence how much students are affected by their surroundings. The study suggests that MAS Darul Ulum should adopt varied, experience-based teaching approaches and consider classroom dynamics in educational policies to enhance students' motivation and overall learning outcomes.

Abstract

Learning difficulties often arise during the educational process, characterized by specific barriers that hinder the achievement of optimal learning outcomes. One common challenge is problem-solving, particularly in physics, which requires a systematic approach to facilitate resolution. The Krulik-Rudnick method is an effective strategy for problem-solving in physics education. This study aims to analyze the difficulties encountered by students in solving physics problems related to magnetic fields at SMAN 1 Seunagan by applying the Krulik-Rudnick theory. A qualitative research method with a descriptive design was employed in this study. The instruments used included essay tests consisting of five questions and interviews. The results revealed that students faced no significant difficulties during the first stage, which involved reading and understanding the problem. However, at the second stage of exploration and planning, only one student managed to successfully complete the task. Similarly, at the third stage of strategy selection, only one student was able to identify the correct approach. In the fourth stage, which involved finding the solution, two students managed to solve the problem correctly. Finally, in the reflection and development stage, only one student was able to complete the entire set of problems adequately
