Abstract

North Halmahera Regency is one of the mangrove spots of the Xylocarpus sp species with a fairly abundant amount. This study aims to determine the distribution map of Xylocarpus sp species and population character of Xylocarpus sp in North Halmahera Regency. This research was conducted from April to June 2021. The method used included a mapping survey of Xylocarpus sp by recording the coordinates from GPS for each Xylocarpus sp found. Determination of population character of Xylocarpus sp was done by observing plant morphology related to vitality and periodicity. Data analysis was carried out by processing coordinate data and observational data on the character of the population of Xylocarpus sp into a base map through a GIS application. The results showed that the species Xylocarpus sp. found in North Halmahera district was Xylocarpus granatum. The distribution pattern of Xylocarpus granatum in North Halmaera is spread in groups. Population characteristics show Xylocarpus granatum in very low sociality conditions, vitality in a well-growing state, periodicity in flowering and fruiting conditions.

Abstract

Early identification is needed to predict the condition of patients who are at risk of worsening symptoms to become more severe. Simple laboratory tests such as measurement of the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio are known to be used as factors to determine the patient's prognosis in various clinical situations. The purpose of this study was to analyze the value of the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio as a predictor factor for COVID-19. This study is retrospective, using medical record data of 327 Covid-19 patients at the Dr Chasan Boesoirie Hospital Ternate from April to September 2021. Subjects were classified as not severe and severe COVID-19. The value of the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio was determined based on the results of a routine blood test (sysmex XN-1000B3 BF). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 16, Pearson's test to determine the relationship between NLR and severity and using the ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve to determine the strength of the relationship with the Cut-off value, p < 0.05 and AUC to determine the sensitivity and specificity of NLR to COVID-19 severity. Results: From 327 subjects consisting of 229 non-severe and 98 severe, the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in the non-severe (3.45±2.02) was significantly different from the severe (9.73±5.64) (p < 0.00). The ROC (Receiver operating Characteristic) curve shows that the NLR has a sensitivity of 83%, specificity of 82% with a cut-off of 3.5 with a positive predictive value (PPV) of 88.2% and a negative predictive value (NPV) of 83.6%. The results of this study can be used as a reference for determining clinical prognosis using neutrophil ratio data.

Abstract

Efforts to prevent viral infection are a shared responsibility of all Indonesian citizens, including academics. Prevention starts from keeping a distance, wearing a mask, and washing hands. Another alternative to washing hands is to use a hand sanitizer. This community service activity program aims to educate and assist the community in preventing infection with the Covid-19 virus based on local culture through assisting students in making hand sanitizers made from local products, namely clove flower stem extract, and distributing them to the community. The methods used in this activity are production, product distribution, and education (lectures). The team will distribute the product to the Khairun University campus area and six schools in Ternate city. This community service program's result is 300 bottles of clove flower stalk extract and distributed to the public. In general, the community's response to the hand sanitizer product from clove flower stalk extract is that the public is enthusiastic and has good comments on this hand sanitizer product.

Abstract

Kubermas (Community Work Lecture) is one of the intracurricular programs organized by Khairn University. The form of activity is in the form of service activities to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. In phase 1, the main program of this Kubermas PKM activity is community empowerment to carry out the conservation of spices and herbs in home gardens. The activity location is on Campus 1 of FKIP, Akehuda sub-district, North Ternate city, and RT 14, Kayu Merah sub-district, South Ternate city. The objectives of the Kubermas PKM are 1) to form a community of people who have the sensitivity to plant and care for and utilize herbs and spices in the yard of the house as a conservation effort; 2) provide direct experience to students participating in Kubermas in community empowerment programs at Kubermas locations. The method of service is community participation and training. The results of this community service are public knowledge about the conservation of home garden spices and herbs and knowledge of the use of home garden spices and herbs in the manufacture of Hand Sanitizermade from herbs and Rorano during the pandemic. Students have direct experience of community assistance methods and the use of home gardens

Abstract

Program kemitraan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional security service di FKIP Kampus 1 Universitas Khairun, telah dilaksanakan. Kampus 1 Universitas Khairun dengan jumlah 10 program studi terbanyak di universitas Khairun yang berlokasi di dekat bandara memerlukan model pengamanan dan penertiban yang professional. Selama ini terkait ketertiban parkir dari dosen dan mahasiswa belum diatur dengan baik, penertiban penggunaan ruang kelas dan tamu di FKIP masih terkesan bebas. Perlu adanya pelatihan dan pendampingan bagi tenaga security service di FKIP sehingga memberikan refresh dan update pengetahuan dan ketrampilan sehingga menjadi lebih professional. Program kemitraan dengan POLDA Maluku Utara dilaksanakan dengan metode Pelatihan dan pendampingan keprofesionalan security baik indoor maupun outdor dengan materi dan standarisasi keprofesionalan security service. Hasil Program kemitraan ini menunjukkan bahwa program kemitraan ini sangat bermanfaat dan memberikan update pengetahuan dan keterampilan bagi security service untuk menjadi lebih professional sesuai jamannya.

Abstract

Fakta di lapangan menunjukan bahwa hasil belajar biologi pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Halmahera Selatan tergolong rendah. Hal ini karena kurangnya guru dalam model dan pendekatan serta media atau sumber belajar yang tepat. PBL dengan STEM merupakan model dan pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual yaitu siswa membangun pengetahuan berbasisi pada kondisi dilingkungan sekitarnya. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui penerapan PBL melalui pendekatan STEM dalam pembelajaran Biologi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Halmahera Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), mengikuti tahapannya adalah perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Analisi data penelitian dilakukan dengan cara analisia kuantitatif terhadap hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan PBL melalui STEM dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Halmahera Selatan. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan adanya peningkatan yaitu prasiklus yaitu siswa yang memperoleh ketuntasan belajar 17 orang atau 47.22% dan belum tuntas belajar 19 orang siswa atau 52.78%. Siklus I mengalami peningkatan yaitu siswa yang tuntas 23 orang dengan persentase 63.89% dan belum tuntas 13 orang atau 36.11%. Siklus II meningkat menjadi 34 orang atau 94.44 % telah tuntas dan 2 orang atau 5.56 % tidak tuntas belajar. Nilai rata-rata pembelajaran biologi adalah 80.55.

Abstract

Ternate is one of the spots in the Walacea expedition. Ternate Island has unique characteristics in the diversity of flora and fauna. So far, information on local butterfly diversity has not been reported. The purpose of this study is to update the latest information on the diversity and distribution pattern of local butterfly species on the island of Ternate for conservation efforts. An exploratory descriptive research using survey method has been conducted at the research location on the island of Central Ternate. The results of the study found 88 individuals consisting of 15 types of local butterflies from 5 families, namely; 1) family Papilionidae as many as 2 species including Pachliopta polyphontes, Papilio sataspes; 2) the Nymphalidae family as many as 9 species including Euploea tulliolus, Danaus genutia, Mycalesis perseus caesonia, Paratica Aspasia-aspasia, Limenitis helena, Yoma sabina, Vindula dejone dorokusana, Ideopsis similis, Cyrestis acilia latifascia; 3) family Pieridae as many as 2 types Pieris brassicae, Eurema sari sodalis); 4) 1 species of Lycaenidae family (Arhopala major) and 5) 1 species of Callidulidae family (Callidula evander). The local butterfly diversity index value on the island of Central Ternate is H'= 2.33 categorized as low diversity. Furthermore, the analysis of the distribution pattern is 17.6 or S2 > x̄, categorized as group distribution.

Abstract

The Barcode of Life Consortium (CBOL) recommended a standard method for the identification of plant species using matK and rbcL barcoding gene. This study was aimed to evaluate the efficiency of matK DNA barcoding for identification of local durian (Durio sp.) from Ternate Island. Total 15 local durian has been used in this study. Whole genom DNA was isolated by Geneid plant DNA kit and then successfully amplified by the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique using specific primer. MatK successfully amplified with 245 bp in length. MatK has sequencing success (71.3%) and relative high of Quality value 20+ (86%). BLAST analysis of the sequence showed that local durian in Ternate are identifies as Durio zibethinus and Neesia malayana with query cover 97%-99%. It could be concluded that matK with short sequence is not efficience for durian identification. The recommended in this studies for using of molecular markers with sequence lengths above 500 bp would be more effective for the identification of cryptic species Durio sp. and other.

Abstract

Program kemitraan masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi professional guru IPA di MGMP IPA kota Ternate. Berdasarkan hasil survey dikatahui bahwa masalah utama mitra adalah masih banyak guru IPA yang masih mendapatkan kendala dalam melaksanakan project fermentasi khususnya fermentasi nata de coco pada materi Bioteknologi. Program kemitraan FKIP dengan sekolah mitra ini dilaksanakan untuk membantu guru IPA mengimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran khususnya project based learning dalam Bioteknologi. Metode pelaksanaan program kemitraan adalah dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan teori dan praktikum proses pembuatan nata de coco melalui Teknik fermentasi kepada guru IPA selaku mitra. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah pengetahuan guru IPA di MGMP IPA kota Ternate tentangproses fermentasi nata de coco. Melalui program kemitraan ini guru IPA di MGMP kota Ternate memiliki pengalaman langsung medesain project based learning dalam proses pembelajaran Bioteknologi di SMP.

Abstract

Education is the process of preparing students to change behavior and be able to think in solving a problem independently and responsibly. The process of changing behavior is influenced by various factors, one of which is the interaction of the teaching and learning process between teachers and students. Problems that often arise in the teaching and learning process, the teachers think of ways to overcome these problems. The teachers finally gathered and collaborated in a room or group to find solutions to these problems. One way to solve this problem is to use the Lesson Study learning model. The Lesson Study model is a coaching model to improve quality or professionalism in the learning process carried out by teachers in collaboration to achieve learning goals. This research was conducted at SMPN 3 Kota Ternate with 25 students in class IX. This study uses Lesson Study-based classroom action research with a descriptive qualitative approach. This research was conducted in 2 cycles by following the Lesson Study stage which includes the stages of planning (plan), implementation (do), and reflection (see). At the pretest stage in cycle 1, the percentage of student learning outcomes on plant propagation was only 61%, after the action was carried out in cycle 1 there was an increase in student learning outcomes on plant propagation material with a percentage of 65% in the good category. cycle 2 also experienced an increase in student learning outcomes on plant propagation material with the percentage in the pretest cycle 2 being 62% and posttest 75% in the good category. Based on the results of Lesson Study-based classroom action research on plant propagation material for class IX students of SMPN 3 Kota Ternate, it was concluded that this research could improve student learning outcomes ABSTRAKPendidikan adalah proses menyiapkan peserta didik untuk merubah perilaku serta mampu berpikir dalam menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan secara mandiri dan bertangung jawab. Proses perubahan perilaku dipengaruhi berbagai faktor salah satunya adalah interaksi proses belajar mengajar antara guru dan peserta didik. Permasalahan yang sering muncul dalam proses belajar mengajar maka para guru berpikir cara untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Para guru akhirnya berkumpul dan berkolaborasi dalam suatu ruang atau kelompok untuk mencari solusi dalam permasalahan tersebut. Salah satu cara untuk memecahkan permasalah tersebut adalah dengan mengunakan model pembelajaran Lesson Study. Model Lesson Study adalah model pembinaan untuk meningkatkan kualitas atau profesionalisme pada proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam berkolaborasi untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 3 Kota Ternate pada siswa kelas IX yang berjumlah 25 orang. Penelitian ini mengunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) berbasis Lesson Study dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus dengan mengikuti tahap Lesson Study yang meliputi tahapan perencanaan (plan), pelaksanaan (do), dan refleksi (see). Pada tahap pretes pada siklus 1 presentase hasil belajar siswa materi perkembangbiakan tumbuhan hanya 61%, setelah dilakukan tindakan pada siklus 1 mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi perkembang biakan tumbuhan dengan persentase 65% dengan ketegori baikPada pengamatan siklus 2 dapat diketahui bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada siklus 2 pun mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi perkembangbiakan tumbuhan dengan presentase pada pretes siklus 2 adalah 62% dan postest 75% dengan kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitisan tindakan kelas berbasis Lesson Study pada materi perkembangbiakan tumbuhan siswa kelas IX SMPN 3 Kota Ternate yang telah dilaksanakan maka ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penelitian ini dapat meningkat hasil belajar siswa.
