Abstract

Background: Early childhood growth and development disorders are still a concern for parents today, especially stunting. Monitoring early childhood growth and development is still a difficulty for parents today. Lack of access to digital-based information about children's health information makes it easy for parents to underestimate this so that it is too late to take care of it. So, it is necessary to have an application for monitoring the growth and development of early childhood based on digital. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effect of the PrimaKu application on the assessment of early childhood growth and development through parental assistance. Methods: This study is a quantitative study with the type of Pre-Experiment, using the One Group Pretest-Posttest research design by providing parental assistance intervention using the PrimaKu Application in one meeting. The effect of the intervention was measured by comparing pre-test and post-test scores. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Test. Results: The results of the analysis obtained a p-value: 0.001 (p <0.05) with a median pre-test>post-test value, namely 80.00>50.00 with a difference of 30.00. The minimum pre-test>post-test value, namely 50>30 with a difference of 20. The maximum pre-test>post-test value, namely 100>90 with a difference of 10. Conclusion: There is an effect of the PrimaKu application on the assessment of early childhood growth and development through parental assistance. So, that the use of the PrimaKu application is highly recommended for parents to use in assessing early childhood growth and development.

Abstract

Namun, kurangnya akses informasi berbasis digital mengenai kesehatan anak membuat orang tua sering menyepelekan pemantauan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak usia dini, sehingga terlambat melakukan intervensi.

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious health issue among toddlers in Indonesia, especially in areas with low parental education and socioeconomic status. One major cause is inadequate nutritional intake influenced by poor parental knowledge and feeding patterns. This study aims to analyze the effect of nutritional intake education on improving feeding practices and growth outcomes in stunted children aged 1–2 years in the working area of the Palaran Community Health Center. Using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, this research involved 11 stunted children selected through total sampling. Data collection included questionnaires, observation sheets, and child growth measurements, which were analyzed using paired t-tests and Wilcoxon tests with SPSS. Results showed significant improvements in feeding patterns and growth outcomes: height increased (p = 0.009) and weight improved significantly (p = 0.007) after educational interventions. Furthermore, parental knowledge improved from 54.5% to 100% in the ‘good’ category, and appropriate feeding patterns rose from 19% to 100%. These findings suggest that structured parental education can significantly enhance child nutrition and growth, supporting the implementation of targeted health programs. The study emphasizes the vital role of Posyandu in follow-up support and recommends expanding similar interventions to other under-resourced regions to reduce stunting rates nationally.

Abstract

Abstract: Nutrition issues in Indonesia remain one of the top priorities in the national health development agenda, particularly efforts to control stunting. Stunting cases in West Java Province remain high and constitute one of the nutrition issues requiring serious attention. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between family support and health promotion efforts on stunting prevention behavior. The research design used in this study is cross-sectional. The study was conducted in Dramaga District in July 2024. The population consisted of all families with infants, totaling 300 households. The sample size was 87 respondents. The sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The results of the study indicate a relationship between family support (p-value: 0.014) and health promotion efforts (p-value: 0.032) and stunting prevention behavior. It is recommended that health workers enhance education on stunting, the importance of family support, and stunting prevention methods by conducting more frequent prenatal classes and providing education during prenatal check-ups to help reduce stunting rates. Keywords: Family Support, Health Promotion, Stunting/

Abstract

Anemia is a health problem in society worldwide, especially among young women. Anemia in adolescents hurts decreased immunity, impaired physical growth, mental development, concentration, learning achievement, adolescent fitness, and productivity if prevention is not carried out early. This community service activity aims to increase young women's knowledge and awareness of the importance of taking iron (Fe) tablets. The targets in this activity were young women attending school, teachers, and principals at SMA Negeri 9, 12, and 13 Samarinda City, with 326 participants. The method used in community service consists of situation analysis, planning, preparation, and implementation. The evaluation results showed increased participants' knowledge after obtaining information/messages about the importance of consuming iron (Fe) tablets in preventing anemia in female adolescents, which was indicated by an increase in the mean value of 12.92. So, continuing education for young women about the importance of consuming iron (Fe) tablets to prevent anemia will have long- and short-term impacts.
