Abstract

Pekanbaru City, as the provincial capital, has experienced significant population growth, resulting in increased mobility and severe traffic congestion, particularly at urban intersections. This study evaluates the performance and feasibility of management alternatives for the problematic Kaharudin Nasution-Pasir Putih intersection. The analysis uses the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI 2023) for technical performance assessment and the LAPI ITB 1996 method for economic analysis, focusing on Vehicle Operating Costs (VOC), Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), and Net Present Value (NPV) for the short (5 years), medium (10 years), and long (15 years) terms. The existing condition indicates a poor Level of Service (LOS D) with a Degree of Saturation (DS) of 0.76. Four alternatives were evaluated: Traffic Light Optimization, Road Widening, Adding 1 Lane, and Construction of an Overpass. The results indicate that Alternatives 1, 2, and 3 offer only short- to medium-term improvements. The construction of the Flyover (Alternative 4) is the only feasible long-term solution (15 years), proven to be economically feasible with BCR and NPV values of 1.46 and 55.6 billion rupiah, in the 10th year 3.19 and 270.3 billion rupiah, and in the 15th year 4.79 and 482.3 billion rupiah. which means the benefit value is greater than the costs incurred, so that the construction of the flyover is economically feasible to be implemented to minimize the increasing financial losses due to traffic delays.

Abstract

The Tenayan Raya Integrated Office Complex is the administrative center of the Pekanbaru City Government and is expected to undergo further development through the construction of new buildings and an increase in the number of employees. These changes will lead to higher trip attraction, which has the potential to affect traffic performance on Jalan Badak as the main access road. This study aims to model the magnitude of trip attraction. The dependent variable is Y (number of attracted trips), while the independent variables consist of X₁ (number of employees), X₂ (building floor area), X₃ (building site area), X₄ (parking area), X₅ (travel distance), X₆ (travel time), X₇ (floor area per employee ratio), and X₈ (employee per floor area ratio). The analytical method applied is Trip Generation using linear regression. The findings show that the number of employees (X₁) is the most influential variable affecting trip attraction. The best-fit model obtained is Y = 4.568 + 0.575X₁ with an R² value of 0.981.

Abstract

Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport serves as the main gateway to Pekanbaru City and is planned as a primary hub airport. This study evaluates the existing airside capacity, runway–taxiway limiting factors, traffic forecast, and capacity improvement alternatives. The analysis used airside geometry data, field operational observations, annual aircraft movements, and socioeconomic data. The results show that traffic is dominated by narrow-body jets; therefore, the capacity limitation is mainly affected by the inefficient runway–taxiway configuration, which increases runway occupancy time. The existing mixed-operation capacity is 15 movements/hour, equivalent to 43,800 regular movements/year. The proposed development alternatives can increase the capacity to 30 movements/hour, equivalent to 125,925 regular movements/year.
