Abstract

Pendidik anak usia dini atau lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Guru PAUD (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini), memegang peranan penting terhadap optimalisasi aspek perkembangan anak secara holistik. Merujuk pada kebutuhan guru PAUD dan hasil pemeriksaan psikologi pada anak-anak PAUD di Kecamatan Jatinangor Kabupaten Sumedang, diadakanlah program psikoedukasi bagi para guru untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan guru mengenai ciri perkembangan anak usia dini (3-6 tahun) dan stimulasi bagi aspek-aspek perkembangan anak usia dini. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini adalah Psikoedukasi yang diberikan kepada 86 orang guru PAUD dari Kecamatan Jatinangor Kabupaten Sumedang. Materi mencakup 1) Mengenal Ciri Perkembangan Anak Usia 3-6 Tahun dan 2) Stimulasi Perkembangan Anak Usia 3-6 Tahun yang dikemas dalam metode belajar lecturing, games, diskusi kelompok, experiential learning, dan presentasi. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi partisipan merasakan adanya manfaat dalam penambahan wawasan dan dapat berbagi ilmu dengan pengajar dan rekan guru PAUD lainnya, namun jika dilihat dari hasil pre-post test, tidak terdapat perubahan signigikan dalam perolehan pengetahuan guru. Terdapat beberapa hal yang dapat dikembangkan dari kegiatan ini, antara lain pengembangan alat ukur pre-post test yang lebih spesifik, pengkajian ulang mengenai materi dan metode, perluasan materi mengenai anak berkebutuhan khusus, dan keberlanjutan program yang dapat dilaksanakan kepada orang tua siswa.Kata kunci : pendidikan anak usia dini, ciri perkembangan anak, stimulasi perkembangan anak, psikoedukasi

Abstract

Free radicals and UV exposure can cause aging. Aging prevention needs substances that can prevent molecular oxidation reactions in cells and inhibit the activity of enzymes that trigger aging. Research on pineapple skin and flesh extract (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) reported the presence of luteolin compound which functions as antioxidants and antityrosinase. However, in this study, the object used was pineapple core extract (PCE), which has not been widely known for its antioxidant and antityrosinase activity. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the content of phytochemical compounds, antioxidant activity, and inhibitory activity of tyrosinase enzymes by PCE and then compared with the luteolin (LT) compound test results using Fansworth method, DPPH scavenging activity assay and tyrosinase enzyme inhibition assay. Based on the study results, the phytochemical compounds contained in PCE were tannins and triterpenoids.  PCE and LT produced the highest DPPH scavenging activity, which was 64.86% and 59.32% (final concentration 200μg/ml and 6.25μg/ml) and the highest tyrosinase inhibition activity, which was 60.52% and 85.02% (final concentration 100 μg/ml). Antioxidant activity was determined based on IC50 of 87.46µg/mL and 4.17 µg/ml respectively. IC50 tyrosinase enzyme inhibition EBN and LT respectively at 62.27µg/ml and 5.25 µg/ml. Antioxidant activity through DPPH free radical scavenging test and tyrosinase enzyme inhibition activity by PCE was lower than LT.

Abstract

Learning is closely related to one's ability to give focus and attention to instructional activities. The ability to maintain attention for a period of time is especially critical between 6 and 7 years. At this age, children's attentional abilities are not fully developed. This study aimed to gain knowledge of actual behavior related to the attention span of first graders in elementary school during classroom activities. The data was obtained by observing one grade 1 elementary school in its natural setting with the time sampling method. Observations are based on the 'on-task and 'off-task behavior shown by the students. What found that the longest time elementary school grade 1 students were able to show 'on-task behavior indicating their attention span was 7 minutes. These results indicate a gap with the expected attention span of grade 1 elementary school children, which is about 18 minutes.

Abstract

Having an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) child is certainly not easy in her care. Mother, as the most dominant figure in her parenting, certainly experienced psychological impact. This study aims to describe the experience of mothers who are parenting with ADHD related to their quality of life. This research is qualitative research with a Phenomenological approach. The study participants consisted of 5 mothers of children with ADHD aged 36-45 years. Data retrieval is done using semi-structured interviews. Data analysis using thematic analysis. The quality of life in mothers of children with ADHD can be described through 23 themes divided into four domains of quality of life: physical, psychological, social, and environmental. In the physical domain, parenting with ADHD affects daily activities that cause mothers to feel tired. In the psychological domain, the mother feels a variety of feelings from the beginning of the diagnosis to during parenting. In the social relation domain, parenting with ADHD affects maternal relationships. In the environment domain, some costs need to be incurred for the child. Mothers are also able to get new information and lessons during parenting with ADHD.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan kajian mengenai adaptasi program pelatihan peningkatan fokus atensi kedalam bentuk program komputer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat penunjang pelatihan peningkatan fokus atensi, dengan cara mengubahnya kedalam bentuk program komputer (piranti lunak). Disain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode campuran (mixed method) dengan menggunakan strategi metode campuran konkuren atau satu waktu (concurrent mixed methods), yaitu menggunakan disain penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif dalam waktu yang bersamaan. Dalam prosesnya, dilakukan penilaian oleh ahli Game Developer berjumlah satu orang dan ahli psikolog bidang klinis anak dan remaja berjumlah tiga orang. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian dari ahli Game Developer terdapat saran perubahan pada intensitas warna stimulus dan latar belakang layar. Sedangkan berdasarkan penilaian dari ahli psikolog dengan mengunakan teknik Content Validity index (CVI), didapat bahwa piranti lunak “Pelatihan Fokus Atensi” memiliki nilai S-CVI/Average (S-CVI/AVE) = .91 (> .80) yang artinya sudah sesuai dengan teori yang ada. Tahap selanjutnya yaitu user experience oleh psikolog bidang klinis anak berjumlah tiga orang dengan membandingkan penggunaan pada piranti lunak dan alat manual. Hasilnya piranti lunak dinilai lebih praktis dan cenderung minim bias negatif.Kata Kunci: fokus atensi, gangguan pemusatan perhatian, pelatihan, program komputerValidation of Computerized Application to Improve Focus Attention on Children with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)AbstractThis research is a study on the adaptation of a training program aimed to increase focused attention into a computer. It aims to develop a tool for such training by applying some adaptations into a computer program (software). This study uses concurrent mixed methods (using quantitative and qualitative research methods at the same time). In the first process, the software was assessed by a Game Developer expert and three child and adolescence clinical psychologists. The expert of Game Developer suggests a change of the intensity of the color of the stimulus and the screen background. Using the Content Validity index (CVI) technique, the psychologists found that the “Attention Focus Training” software has a value of S-CVI/Average (S-CVI/AVE) = .91 (> .80), indicating its conformity to the existing theories. The next stage is user experience by three child and adolescence clinical psychologists, conducted by comparing the use of the software and manual tools. It shows that the software is more practical and tends to have less negative bias.Keywords: Attention Deficit Disorder, focused attention, software, training

Abstract

This study aims to observe the relationship between parental autonomy support and academic motivation among junior high students. This correlational study collected data from 124 students and their mothers. Convenience sampling was used. The instruments employed were Perceived Parental Autonomy Support Scale and Academic Self-Regulation Questionnaire translated into Indonesian. The Spearman’s Rank was used for correlation analysis. The results revealed that parental autonomy support and maternal autonomy support has a positive correlation with students’ autonomous motivation. The more frequently students receive support from parents and the more frequently mothers give support to their children, the higher motivation students have to perform activities they desire. Maternal autonomy support also associates positively with students’ controlled motivation. The more often mothers give freedom, the higher motivation students have to do activities coming from internal and external pressures. Parental control perceived by students and maternal control have no link with overall motivation.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) has increased incidence and prevalence in developing nations. In this in vitro study, we evaluated the cells proliferative effects, fibronectin (FN), transforming growth factor β (TGF-β1), and Reactive oxygen species (ROS) - level inhibition potential of ethanol extract of detam 1 soybean seed (EEDS) on glucose-induced kidney mesangial cells (SV40 MES 13). The cells proliferation assay used 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)2H-tetrazolium (MTS) assay. FN and TGF-β1 level were measured using ELISA assay kit and ROS level using flow cytometry. Level of   FN, TGF-β1 and ROS, on CKD cells model (5 mM, 10 mM glucose-induced mesangial cell) treated with EEDS 6.25 µg/mL were lower significantly compared to positive control,  EEDS improve cells viability and decrease FN, TGF-β1 and ROS level in glucose-induced kidney mesangial cells as CKD cells model.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto ditinjau dari kemandirian belajar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subyek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII D dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Siswa dikelompokan kedalam 3 kelompok yaitu kelompok kemandirian belajar tinggi, kelompok kemandirian belajar sedang, dan kelompok kemandirian belajar rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan angket kemandirian belajar, tes kemampuan literasi matematika, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kemandirian belajar tinggi cenderung mampu merumuskan masalah, menggunakan konsep matematika, fakta, prosedur dan penalaran, serta mampu menafsirkan, menerapkan, dan mengevaluasi hasil yang diperoleh. Siswa dengan kemandirian belajar sedang mampu merumuskan masalah dan menggunakan konsep matematika, fakta, prosedur, dan penalaran terhadap masalah yang diberikan. Siswa dengan kemandirian belajar rendah cenderung belum mampu memenuhi indikator kemampuan literasi matematika.

Abstract

Background: With the increase of diabetes mellitus (DM) prevalence, natural product emerged as complementary source on the development of new drug for this disease. White saffron (Curcuma mangga Val.) is a widely available plant found in Indonesia which often used traditionally as medicine for various ailment. Unfortunately scientific evidence of its antidiabetic activity has not been described very well. Present study was trying to evaluate the antidiabetic potential of white saffron based on the change of lipid accumulation.Materials and Methods: Cells viability assay was done using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium (MTS) reagent to determine the safe concentrations of C. mangga Val. extract and its fractions including hexane, ethyl acetate, butanol, ethanol, water fractions and curcumol for the further assay. The preadipocyte cells (3T3-L1) were grown and differentiated into adipocyte cells using 3-isobutyl-1-methylxanthine (IBMX), dexamethasone and insulin. The adipocyte cells were treated with C. mangga Val. extract (CME) (the safest fraction at all concentrations) for 24 h. Oil red O staining was used to measure the lipid accumulation in adipocyte cells.Results: The CME was not toxic and able to decrease the lipid droplets of the 3T3-L1 adipocyte cells.Conclusion: The CME has potential antidiabetic activity due to ability to decrease the lipid droplet without disturbing the viability of the 3T3-L1 adipocyte cells.Keywords: white saffron, Curcuma mangga Val., antidiabetic

Abstract

An abnormal form of grief, prolonged grief disorder (PGD), most common cause are sudden deaths of immediate family members. The latest and most developed assessment of prolonged grief disorder (PGD) is the PG-13; available in adult and child form. This research adapts PG-13 children form to the appropriate context of Indonesian adolescence. As supplementary, adaptation was also done on the People Places and Things You Miss Inventory (PPTIM). Adaptation process follows the steps of adaptation proposed by Beaton D. E. This process focuses on the appropriateness of language, maintenance of the content, also the understandability and practicality of the adapted self-report measure through pretesting process. Pretesting was done on 46 adolescence that has lost an immediate family member due to sudden death. Cause of death are not limited as long as it is sudden; time of death is limited however to minimal of 6 months prior pretesting.
