Abstract

ABSTRACT The results of studying biology class VIII SMP 4 Payakumbuh in the school year 2012/2013 has not been satisfactory, and is under the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). The low student learning outcomes because teachers are still using the media and methods of learning that are less variable in the learning process in the human digestive system material that is abstract. The use of interactive learning media that accompanied the map concept is expected to motivate students to learn actively, creatively, and effectively. This study aimed to examine the effect of the use of interactive learning media that accompanied concept maps on learning outcomes of students SMP 4 Payakumbuh biology. This study is an experimental research study design with randomized control group  design only. The population in  this study were  students of class  VIII  SMP 4Payakumbuh academic year 2013/2014 which consists of 9 classes. Sampling using purposive sampling, in order to obtain a sample class that is a class 2 VIII6 as the experimental class and the control class as a class VIII9. Form of the test used is an objective test. The technique of data analysis is to examine both the average similarity with the t-test at the 0.05 significance level. The results of the analysis of data obtained while the price of t 2.14 1.67 t table, this means tcount> ttable which means that the hypothesis is accepted. From this study it can  be  concluded that  the  results of  biological studies  students by  using interactive learning  media  that accompanied the concept map material effect on the digestive system biology student learning outcomes using conventional learning in class VIII SMP 4 Payakumbuh.

Abstract

 There are many problems that occur in the learning process, one of them is low of biological learning outcomes among biology students because of learning process that is still dominated by the teacher. Most students are lazy to read the subject matter being studied. This cause  the  outcomes of  student biology learning  are  relatively low and  below the  minimum completeness criteria (KKM), that is 75. The purpose of this observation was to determine the Effect of Granting Homework and Concept Map for the Result of Biology Learning of Grade VII Padang Public Junior High School 22. This research is an experimental with research design is Randomized Control Group Posstest Only Design. This research was conducted at Padang Public Junior High School 22 second term of VII grade in January-March listed on the academic year2013/2014. Population in this research are all of Grade VII students listed on the acade mic year2013/2014 consist of 8 classes. Sampling using purposive sampling method and obtained VII3 grade as the experimental class and VII5 grade as the control class. The instrument used is written in the form of an objective test. Based on the achievement test scores of biology, experiment class obtained 78,23 and the average control class is 72,67. Form the t-test analysis, tcount value of (1,80)> ttable ( 1,67) which means that H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that granting homework andconcept map can be improve learning outcomes biology of VII grade in SMP N 22 Padang onecosystem material.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTLearning biology is asset of knowledge known as the result of research and expert thought and basic skills as well that reflect to the process to accomplish its result. In this case, a medium is needed to expand the basis skills that reflects the process of scientific activity, for instance the availability of laboratory. While doing the scientific activity, a medium used should be standardized in order to accomplish the goal. The government has create the rules of using the medium and infrastructure in education that is stated in Educational Prime Minister Rule No. 24, june 28, 2007 that was started from the wide of the minimum area, the buildings, and the completeness of the medium and infrastructure of the school, the laboratory included. The good laboratory should provide various facilities and also skillful technician is really needed, in order to make the lab work easier. This research is kind of descriptive research. It is carried out in all of biology laboratory in Senior High School at South Solok in West Sumatra in the even semester on 2013/2014. The population of the research is all of Senior High School at South Solok, that is 8 schools on 2013/2014. The sample is 6 schools, they are taken by using Purposive Sampling technique. The technique of data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis. Based on the descriptive data analysis, the questionnaire result show that the standardization of biology laboratory in there schools is about 79,9 % and based on the observation result gained is 70,7 % with a range of both result are good criterion. This result is obtained from the precentage average of questionnaire filling and observation sheet that is distributed to 6 respondents in 6 schools in South Solok on academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  There are many factors influence the low mark of student’s Biology achievement. One of them , is the low of student interesting in Biology learning so it become pasive. One way to solue this problem is give an active learning strategi type planted question on student Biology achiment class VIII  MTs Muhammadiyah Silaping  Kabupaten West Pasaman. The type of this  reasearch is  exprimental  with  randomized  control  group  post  test  only  design.  The population is student from class VIII MTs Muhammadiyah Silaping academik year 2013/2014 which consist of three clas. The sampling technique used here was purposive sampling, which caried VIIIC   as experimental class and VIIIB as control class. The instrument which was used is test with objective from consist of 30 items. Data analysis was proven by test with criterion t calculate > t table. The result was the everage of Experimental class is 82,37 with branching 6,81 in contrast, control class is gotten 62,58 in average with 12,2 branching. From test, it can be gotten t calcurate (8,84) > t table   (1,67), so it can be concluded  that learning Biology with active learning strategy type planted question can increase the stundents Biology achievemrnt class VIII MTs Muhammadiyah Silaping.

Abstract

ABSTRAK There are several factors which influence the low-mark of students, in Biology subject such as low-interested of student, felt borning while learning and pasive in learning process which mean that students tend te be’un brave to express their opinion so it is difficult to know how far students understanding about the material. At least, teacher become the center of learning.One way to solve this problem is by giving active learning strategy type Giving Question and Getting Answer toward students Biologi achievement class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten West Pasaman. The type of this reseach is experimental with Randomized Control- Group Posttest only design. Population of this research is second semester of students class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan academic year 2013/2014. Which Consist of three classes. Purposive Sampling is used in technique of sampling which is gotten  as experimental class and  as control class. Test is used as final instrument in objektif form which consist of 28 items. Data analysis is done by t-test with criterion t-calculate > t-table. From the data analysis it can be gotten, the average of students Biologi mark in experimental class 76,78 with 10,32 standard deviation , otherwise, control class with 58,13 in average and 12,56 standard deviation. From t-test analysis, it can be proven t- calculate (5,79) >t-table (1,68). It can be concluded that, Active Learning Strategy type Giving Question and Getting Answer can improve students Biologi achievement class VII SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan

Abstract

  ABSTRACT Algae are chorophil organism, almost all the cells were able to reproduce and algae epipitik also part perifitik algae that lives attached to various substrates such as attached to aquatic plants. West Sumatra is an area that has a lot of lakes, one of which is Singkarak lake. Singkarak like used as tourist areas and communities where livelihoods by Singkarak lake. Given the importance of the presence of algae in the water and the algae should be preserved. Research on algae in Singkarak lake epipitik conducted in December 2013. Purpose sampling metode to epipitik algae in Jariamun attache in Singkarak lake. This research was conducted by survey method (direct observation), sampling was performed at 3 stations. Station 1 in the Nagari Koto Singkarak subdistrict Saniang Baka Solok. This area is one of the breeding fish/cage as well as agricultural land in the Singkarak lake. Station 2 in the Regional District of Koto Singkarak Wall Nuts Solok district, regional household waste contamination. Station 3 in the Regional District of propagation Ombilin Tanah Datar, Batang River Watersheds Ombilin tipped on Singkarak lake. From this study found 25 species of algae epipitik 4 classes. In class Cyanophyceae found 3 types, Chlorophyceae 7 types,14 types Bacillaryophyceae, and Dinophyceae found 1 type. Algae is the most common of the 14 species Bacillaryophyceae class because the class Bacillaryophyceae conditions encountered in a variety of aquatic life and is one of the largest of algae group with high diversity and great abundance and wide distribution. While the least class Dinophyceae found as the most widespread distribution found in the oceans, so the Singkarak lake few found.

Abstract

This research is background by low result of learning. This is caused because in learning process the students use note and teacher’s explanation, so there is no students activity and participation in teaching learning process, the students think biology is boring because just remember materials, and limit variation of strategy that is used in teaching and learning process, in teaching and learning process the teacher usually uses method because it is easer in implementing. One of alternative to solve the problem is implementing active learning strategy type student recap by using concept maps. This research has purpose to know the effect of implementing active learning strategy type Student Recap by using concept map toward result of students biology learning at class VIII in SMPN 3 Ranah Pesisir. Type of this research is experiment by using Randomized Control-Group Postes Only Design. Population of this research is students at class VIII in SMPN 3 Ranah Pesisir of academic year 2014/2015 that consist of five classes. Sample is taken by using purposive sampling. Technique of data analysis uses uji-T with corelation level of 95% (α= 0,05). The result of research shows that t-test 3,75 and t-table 1,68. t-test > t-table, it means that hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Based on data analysis shows that students behaviour and skill at class experiment more good that control class. From this research can be concluded that any effect of implementing active learning strategy type Student Recap by using concept map toward result of students biology learning at class VIII in SMPN 3 Ranah Pesisir.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCutting woods on the upstream is the main cause of forest damage. Thisactivity is done continuously by the people for firewood and timber. The area thathas damaged is not only at the upstream but also at the buffer zone of Batang AirDingin River. The damage affects the population of various fish in this area.Concerning this condition, the research was conducted to find out the species offish in Batang Air Dingin river on January to March 2012. The instruments whichare use to catch the fish are net, gill net, disperse net, shock fishing andaccumulator and the sampling technique was purposive sampling. Sampleidentification was conducted in Biology laboratory of STKIP PGRI WestSumatera. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The research foundthat from 544 fishes, there are 19 species which are classified into 10 families.

Abstract

Research about composition of plankton in Kandis Lake have been the survivaldescriptive method. The result have be composed of plankton in Kandis Lakemuch group to phytoplankton. Phytoplankton those genus were : Lyngbia,Spirulina, Oscillatoria, Merismopedia, Oedogonium, Closterium, Cosmarium,Pediastrum, Desmidium, Cladophora, Coscinodiscus, Trepsinoe, Meloisira,Surirella, Gyrosigma, Navicula, Cymbella, Fragillaria, Synedra and Euglena.Zooplankton those genus were : Moina, Cylops, Diaptomus, Nauplius, Oroperla,Astramoeba, Difflugia, Branchinus, Chephalodella, Filinia, Lepadella, Lycane,Notolcha, Proales, Tetramastix and Testudinella.
