Abstract

Motivasi siswa merupakan faktor kunci dalam menentukan derajat prestasi belajarnya. Salah satu unsur yang mempengaruhi peningkatan hasil belajar dan efektifitas pembelajaran adalah motivasi. Penelitian yang mengambil sampel sebanyak 11 orang ini dilakukan dalam tiga siklus dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan konseling. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa di setiap siklusnya (siklus I menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 39,66%, sedangkan temuan pengukuran menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 39,82%), strategi pembelajaran berbasis proyek jelas bermanfaat bagi semangat belajar siswa. . Kesimpulan ini merupakan hasil dari seluruh analisis dan perdebatan yang telah dilakukan. Gairah belajar siswa meningkat pada siklus II, dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 60,23%, sedangkan partisipasi siswa meningkat sebesar 54,41%, sesuai hasil evaluasi. Sedangkan rata-rata skor motivasi belajar siswa pada siklus III sebesar 85,38%, terjadi peningkatan partisipasi siswa dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 82,11%.

Abstract

Low self-efficacy can negatively affect academic achievement in vocational school students. In this way, this current research attempted to examine the implementation of group counseling with a self-instruction technique to students’ self-efficacy by changing irrational thinking into the rational one. It used a pretest-posttest control group design. Here, students’ data were collected using the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES). Previously, the sixteen students were divided into, namely  students in the experimental group and eight others in the control group. The students’ data were analyzed using the mixed anova. Based on the findings, the implementation of the group counseling with a self-instruction technique has been effective for increasing self-efficacy in vocational school students. Thus, counselors are recommended to apply a self-instruction technique to increase self-efficacy.
