Abstract

The Students of Modern Islamic Boarding Schools are distinguished in learning a variety of languages, one of which is Arabic. The teacher's method in Arabic learning is by using the audiolingual method. This method mostly involves memorizing vocabulary and Arabic grammar. However, the educators mostly use dialogue methods in teaching, of course; this process will be a good attempt to improve the ability of students to chat in Arabic. But in fact, many students are weak and unable to match the vocabulary and Arabic grammar that have memorized in the conversation. Therefore, the researcher examined the topic "Implications of Using Direct Picture Stories in the Development of Expressing Verbal Expression" to facilitate students in applying what they have learned from Arabic vocabulary and grammar in order to improve their ability to express these expressions. The purpose of this research is to identify the effectiveness of the direct method with the illustrated stories media in improving the ability of oral expression and its application in Arabic subjects for first graders Madrasah Aliyah Insan Qur'ani. The research method is experimental, therefore the researcher collects data based on test result data from the application of the method using empirically illustrated stories. The object group in this study is all the first graders of Madrasah Aliyah Insan Qur'ani Aneuk Batee which numbered 174 students. The researcher selected several samples and made them two classes of students, namely class D as a control group of 20 students and class E as an experimental group with 20 students. The result of this study is that the application of a direct method with illustrated stories in the learning of expressing expressions orally is effective in improving students' ability in conversation. Because the T-Test score in the calculation is 2.93 greater than the T-Test table value of 1,685. So the difference between the experimental group and the control group is clear and unquestionable.

Abstract

Based on the observation at MTsN 4 Banda Aceh, the researcher found a problem in that students were unable to find important points in the Qira'ah text, so it was difficult to understand the text regularly according to the storyline in the text. This is due to the denseness of the text presented in the book and also the writing that is less interesting to read so it makes students bored to study the contents of the text. Therefore, the researcher wants to develop this book with an illustrated companion book to help students learn Arabic with an attractive appearance. The purpose of this study was to find out the level of validation and effectiveness of the use of the Illustrated Companion Book that had been developed. This study used the R&D (Research and Development) method, and the research instruments used were direct observation, a questionnaire, and a test. The researcher took 31 students from class VII 1 as a sample. As for the data analysis technique, the researcher used the T-Test formula from the SPSS application. The result obtained from this research is the Arabic textbook development process consists of ten steps: “research and information, collecting, planning, develop a preliminary form of Illustrated Companion Book, preliminary field testing, main Illustrated Companion Book revision, main field testing, operational Illustrated Companion Book revision, operational field testing, final Illustrated Companion Book revision and dissemination and implementation. And the development of an Illustrated Companion Book based on expert judgment, which is valid with a value of 93.5%. The test result showed that the use of an illustrated companion book is effective in improving students' ability to translate and understand the contents of the text on a regular basis. In a way that is based on the results of the value of Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 which indicates that (Ha) was accepted.

Abstract

لا يمكن للعمل الأدبي أن يكون مستقلاً بذاته وبالتالي لا يمكن النظر إلى القدرة على دراسته فقط بناءً على النص (الهيكلي). بدلاً من ذلك، يجب أن يأخذ فهم الأعمال الأدبية بعين الاعتبار هيكل النص والمؤلف. ومن خلال هذا البحث، يرغب الباحثون في معرفة العناصر الداخلية في قصيدة "تقدموا"، ولكن دراسة الأعمال الأدبية تشمل مسألة البحث الاجتماعي في وقت إنشاء هذه الأعمال الأدبية. أما بالنسبة لمنهجية البحث التي استخدمها الباحثون في كتابة هذا البحث فهي المنهج الوصفي-التحليلي، ويتم الوصف من خلال قراءة واستنباط نظرية الهيكلية للوسيان غولدمان التي تستند إلى العناصر الداخلية. العناصر الداخلية في هذا البحث هي موضوع مقاومة الشعب الفلسطيني للاضطهاد في وطنهم، والمشاعر الموجودة في هذه القصيدة هي مشاعر مثل الشوق والحزن وكذلك المشاعر الشخصية مثل الشجاعة. Abstract A literary work cannot exist independently and, therefore, its study cannot be based solely on the text (structural analysis). Instead, understanding literary works must take into account both the text's structure and the author. Through this research, the researcher aims to identify the internal elements in this poem. However, the study of literary works also involves examining the social context at the time of their creation. The research methodology employed in this study is the descriptive-analytical method, with description conducted through reading and deriving Lucien Goldmann's structuralist theory, which is based on internal elements. The internal elements in this research include the theme of the Palestinian people's resistance to oppression in their homeland, and the emotions present in this poem, such as longing and sorrow, as well as personal feelings like courage.

Abstract

The growing fighting spirit of the Acehnese people against the Dutch colonialists has been documented in history. One factor that significantly influenced this heroic spirit was the Hikayat Prang Sabi (The letter literature of war). How did this text shape the courageous spirit of the Acehnese in their resistance against the invaders? This paper examines the influence of Hikayat Prang Sabi (HPS) on its readers and the broader community. This study aims to reveal the impact of Hikayat Prang Sabi on Acehnese society. The theoretical framework used is the sociology of literature, focusing on the relationship between author, the literary work, and the reading public. The methodology employed is a descriptive qualitative approach that draws on literary sociology. The results indicate that HPS was a significant literary work that deeply affected its readers, especially the Acehnese who embraced it. The creation of HPS by Tgk. Chik Pante Kulu was closely tied to the political conditions in Aceh at the time, as the region was engaged in conflict with Dutch military force. During the Aceh-Dutch war, HPS was read before going to battle until it was confiscated and destroyed by the Dutch. Even after the war, HPS remained a crucial reference for the Acehnese in rebuilding political power.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the personality types of the main character in the short story al-Dunyā Riwāyah by Tawfīq al-Ḥakīm. The research is based on the view that personality in literary works represents the psychological aspects of characters, which can deepen the understanding of the plot and conflict. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a psychology of literature approach, applying Carl Gustav Jung’s theory of personality. Data collection techniques include reading, note-taking, and translation, while data analysis is conducted narratively through the stages of identification, classification, and psychological interpretation of the main character. The results show that the main character in this short story represents eight personality types according to Jung: introvert-thinking, introvert-feeling, introvert-sensing, introvert-intuition, extrovert-thinking, extrovert-feeling, extrovert-sensing, and extrovert-intuition. These findings reveal the character’s psychological complexity and may serve as a reference for future research exploring Arabic literature through a psychology of literature lens, particularly using Jung’s theory.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai pendorong untuk melahirkan sugesti dalam kehidupan yang lahir dari suatu ide berdasarkan yang terkandung dalam cerpen “miladu fikrah” karya Taufiq el Hakim, dalam mengevaluasi nilai-nilai tersebut penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis teks cerpen miladu fikrah teori yang di gunakan dalam menganalisa teks ialah teori psikologi sastra Sigmund Freud yang menganalisis bagaimana ide-ide dalam cerpen mempengaruhi kepribadian dasar manusia khususnya melalui konsep id, ego, dan superego. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ide-ide dalam cerpen memiliki pengaruh besar terhadap perkembangan karakter manusia, baik dalam hal pembentukan revolusi diri maupun danpaknya terhadap lingkungan sekitar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur kepribadian tokoh utama Rajib Effendi dalam cerpen “Shalatul Fajri” dengan pendekatan teori kepribadian psikologi sastra Carl Rogers. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data-data tertulis yang terdapat dalam cerpen “Shalatul Fajri” karya Ali Thanthawi yang menunjukkan kecocokan analisis struktur kepribadian perspektif Carl Rogers. Adapun metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik baca catat dan studi kepustakaan. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis mengunakan teknik analisis data dengan mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasi, menganalisis dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga analisis struktur kepribadian menurut Carl Rogers pada tokoh Rajib Effendi dalam cerpen “Shalatul Fajri” karya Ali Thanthawi yaitu: konsep self (diri), medan fenomenal, dan organisme. Peneliti berharap agar penelitian ini bisa menjadi masukan untuk penelitian lainnya berkenaan dengan teori psikologi sstra Carl Rogers.
