Abstract

This article examines the deployment of information network systems, namely the adoption of Indonesia One Search (IOS) in university libraries. The used methodologies include of literature reviews and online observations, designed to comprehensively analyze the implementation of IOS. A system is characterized as a collection of interacting components aimed at achieving certain objectives, while information is the outcome of data processing that serves a purpose for the receiver. This essay emphasizes the significance of cooperation among libraries in establishing efficient information networks. The text elaborates on many collaborative methods, including library acquisition, collection sharing, and inter- library lending. This partnership offers enhanced information access, resource efficiency, personnel specialization, and less material duplication. Indonesia One Search (IOS) is a unified search platform that consolidates collections from libraries, museums, archives, and electronic information sources across Indonesia. IOS, introduced by Ismail Fahmi, Ph.D., and overseen by the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia, seeks to provide extensive and accessible information for students and other users. The iOS development process includes bibliography compilation, text analysis, and anti-plagiarism services. The functionalities provided by iOS, like full-text search and interaction with digital library apps, illustrate its capacity to fulfill information requirements in the digital age. The use of IOS at institutions, including the Indonesian Education University and the Indonesian Islamic University, demonstrates its efficacy in enhancing students' knowledge retrieval skills. This study underscores the need for libraries to adapt to user requirements in the digital age and highlights the possibilities for cooperation across libraries to enhance services via technology.

Abstract

This article discusses communication strategies for community empowerment carried out by universities. In an effort to achieve optimal targets, the role of effective communication is very pivotal. In this case, the right empowerment communication strategy is to place communicators as motivators, dynamists, innovators, and facilitators for social change. In this regard, students, lecturers, or companion teams as communicators must be on a par with the community. It means that communicator and audience, expert and user, and sender and receiver interchange roles in a mutually beneficial two-way interaction through which qualified social empowerment can be reached. The communicator functions as a driving force for the community to be able to realise their potential independently in order to become more empowered. This communication strategy is appropriate for the bottom-up intervention model of community empowerment; self-help and togetherness model, integrative-interconnected model, and asset based community-driven development.

Abstract

The rise of green libraries signifies an increasing commitment to sustainability within library operations. These initiatives seek to reduce environmental impact through decreased paper consumption, efficient energy use, and environmentally responsible management practices. Simultaneously, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents new opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and the quality of library services. This study investigates the intersection of green library practices and AI adoption through a descriptive qualitative literature review. The findings indicate that AI technologies, such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), chatbots, and automated systems can streamline cataloging processes, enhance information retrieval, and lessen dependence on physical resources. AI also contributes to energy efficiency through smart building management systems that automate lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), thereby reducing overall carbon emissions. Furthermore, AI-assisted services expand social inclusivity by improving accessibility for users with disabilities and supporting remote and underserved communities. The bibliometric mapping analysis reveals a growing scholarly interest in sustainable innovation within library services. The study concludes that the synergy between green library initiatives and AI integration not only advances progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) but also positions libraries as proactive agents of environmental and social transformation. This research contributes to ongoing discussions on sustainable digital transformation in the library sector.

Abstract

The repository application is a tool used by librarians in preserving managed information and improving library digital services. Utilization evaluation is important in knowing the management of the repository. This is only to achieve one expectation, which is satisfaction for users. The purpose of this research is to ensure the use of the repository as a form of information preservation owned by the UIN Raden Intan library to make it easier for academics to take research information and to make it easier for students to conduct thesis research. The method used is qualitative descriptive. This method gives freedom to researchers to conduct research reviews so that researchers can deliver this research according to the conditions that occur. To support data collection, researchers used interview, observational and literature methods. The result of this study is that the UIN Raden Intan library stores information periodically with the aim of presenting information as needed. Repository information is presented using the format of year, study program and faculty. This provides convenience and flexibility for all UIN academics in taking digital information and services. The repository has been implemented using an online model, this adds flexibility for academics and researchers in obtaining research references without being hampered by distance and time in the UIN Raden Intan library.

Abstract

In the digital era, libraries are applying information technology to preserve, manage and provide access to digital collections. Software such as Eprints is the solution that libraries use to organize and manage these digital collections. It aims to help democratize access to scientific knowledge and facilitate the search and discovery of scientific research. The utilization of Eprints of Yogyakarta State University for IPII students of UIN Raden Intan Lampung aims to determine how satisfied the library users are with the ease of access, and the availability of the collection. The method used in the study was quantitative with a descriptive approach, researchers used data collection derived from questionnaires and observations distributed to IPII UIN Raden Intan Lampung students. This study consists of 3 indicators and 7 statements that researchers distributed to 23 IPII students. The first indicator of satisfaction with 2 statements with a mean value of 3.4 and 3.7 with a very high interval scale, the second indicator of satisfaction with 3 statements with an average value of 3.3, 3.3 and 3.4 with a very high interval scale and finally the third indicator regarding collections with an average value of 3.8 and 3.8 with a very high interval scale. With these results it can be said that IPII students as users feel very helpful in retrieving information with the use of Eprints UNY feel satisfied.
