Abstract

Health is a basic need that is important to maintain. Preventive efforts through education are needed to increase public awareness, including in drug management and prevention of infectious diseases. This community service activity aims to provide education on 3CP (Methods of Storing, Using, and Destroying Drugs) and preventing Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) to residents of the Rahadi Oesman Dormitory, Malang. The counseling was held on May 25, 2025 and was attended by 14 participants. The methods used were lectures, discussions, and question and answer sessions. The material includes proper drug storage, use according to the rules, and how to safely destroy expired drugs. Education also includes knowledge about DHF, including symptoms, stages of the disease, and preventive measures such as 3M (draining, covering, and burying), as well as maintaining environmental cleanliness. The pretest results showed that 50% of participants did not understand the material well. However, after the counseling, there was an increase in the score on the posttest, which indicated an increase in understanding. This activity not only increased participants' knowledge, but also formed awareness of the importance of clean and healthy living behavior and proper drug management. Thus, this counseling is expected to be the initial step in preventing drug abuse and the spread of DHF in residential environments.

Abstract

Background: Anemia during pregnancy remains a significant global health concern, affecting 25–50% of pregnant women worldwide. Although iron and folic acid supplementation programs (TTD) are widely implemented, adherence among pregnant women is frequently compromised due to various barriers Method: A quasi-experimental study with a pre-post control group design was conducted across public health centers in Malang City. The intervention group received brief pharmacist counseling accompanied by illustrated booklets, while the control group received routine standard care. Result: Post-intervention analyses indicated significant improvements in knowledge scores, increased adherence to TTD, and positive behavioral changes in the intervention group. Statistical assessment using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test revealed significant differences between pre and post-test measurements for knowledge, adherence, and behavior (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Brief pharmacist counseling supplemented with illustrated booklets resulted in substantial enhancements across all measured outcomes compared to standard care, underscoring the effectiveness of this intervention for managing anemia during pregnancy.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a series of metabolic diseases with signs of hyperglycemia arising from problems with insulin secretion or both. The cost of treating diabetes mellitus was estimated at USD 727 billion in 2017 and is expected to increase every year. The variation in antidiabetic drugs will lead to variation in cost and success rate. Objectives: Therefore, cost-effectiveness analysis, also known as method rate analysis, is used to determine the method that has the lowest cost and is effective to achieve the same goal. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the cost-effectiveness of insulin therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus hospitalized at RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung Regency in 2023. Methods: The method used was a descriptive non-experimental approach, with a cross-sectional design and the instrument used was a retrospective data collection sheet at RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung Regency totaling 74 patients. Results: The results and conclusions of this study are the use of Single Insulin with GDS and GDP parameters that have low costs (cost-effective) is Insulin Novorapid® (Insulin Aspart) with an ACER value of Rp. 283,899.23 and the average direct medical costs incurred are Rp. 14,194. 961.25, while the use of combined insulin with RPG, 2-h PG and FPG parameters that have low costs (cost-effective) is the combination of Novorapid® (Insulin Aspart) + Levemir® (Insulin Detemir) with an ACER value of Rp. 412,230.56 and the average direct medical costs incurred are Rp. 18,177,082.66. Conclusions: Novorapid® as single insulin and Novorapid® + Levemir® as combination insulin are cost-effective.

Abstract

Anemia according to WHO (World Health Organization) is defined as crucial incidence during pregnancy. In adult groups, it is common in women of reproductive age, especially in pregnant women due to iron deficiency. Pregnant women need to consume Iron Folic Acid Supplement/Tablet Tambah Darah (TTD) regularly to prevent and overcome anemia. Several factors are important to be studied in anemic pregnant women. Therefore, researchers wanted to examine the validity and reliability of the new questionnaire. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of the questionnaire on the level of knowledge, perceived barriers, perceived benefits, and adherence in anemic pregnant women in the use of TTD. This study uses quantitative research in the form of descriptive research and uses a cross-sectional design. Using non- probability sampling with purposive sampling technique and 100 mothers. In research conducted in September 2023 showed that the validity and reliability test questionnaire on the questionnaire level of knowledge, perceived barriers, perceived benefits, family support and adherence questions are valid and also reliable with Cronbach alpha above 0.6.
