Abstract

Vitamin A deficiency is the leading cause of preventable childhood blindness and increases the risk of death from common childhood illnesses such as diarrhea. Regular high-dose vitamin A supplementation is a proven, low-cost intervention that has been shown to reduce all causes of mortality by 12 to 24%, and is therefore an important program in supporting efforts to reduce child mortality (UNICEF, 2025). The purpose of this study is to determine a correlation between maternal motivation and the role of health workers with vitamin A compliance in toddlers at Posyandu in the working area of Dusun Baru V Koto Health Center. This study used an analytical research design with a cross-sectional approach. Purposive sampling was employed, which involves selecting samples based on the researcher's considerations and in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample consisted of 75 mothers with toddlers. The results of the Chi-square test showed that the variable of Mother's Motivation and Compliance with Vitamin A Administration to Toddlers obtained a chi-square p-value of 0.001 (α<0.05), while the variable of Health Worker Role and Compliance with Vitamin A compliance to Toddlers obtained a chi-square p-value of 0.001 (α<0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between Maternal Motivation and the Role of health worker with Vitamin A Compliance in Toddlers at Posyandu in the Working Area of Dusun Baru V Koto Health Center. It is recommended that the health center improve health services, especially for maternal and children health.

Abstract

Antenatal care is regular care for pregnant women with the aim of monitoring the emergence of diseases or adverse conditions that may occur during pregnancy and childbirth. According to the WHO, the global maternal mortality ratio (MMR) is 189 per 100,000 live births. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that approximately 15% of all pregnant women will develop complications related to their pregnancy, which can result in maternal and fetal death (WHO, 2023). The purpose of this study is to determine a correlation between knowledge level of pregnancy danger signs in third trimester pregnant women and compliance with antenatal care at Bantal Health Center. The research method used quantitative data with a sample size of 39 third trimester pregnant women. The independent variable was knowledge of pregnancy danger signs in pregnant women, and the dependent variable was compliance with antenatal care. Data analysis in this study used the Chi-Square statistical test (α=0.05). The results of the study showed that most of the respondents, namely 20 (51.3%) respondents, had good knowledge at Bantal Health Center. Most of the respondents, namely 22 (56.4%) respondents, were not compliant in attending ANC at Bantal Health Center. The chi-square test results obtained a p-value of 0.001, meaning that Ha is accepted, indicating that there was a correlation between the knowledge level of pregnancy danger signs in third trimester pregnant women and compliance with antenatal care at Bantal Health Center. The conclusion of this study is that regular pregnancy check-ups are necessary for pregnant women at BPM, health centers, hospitals, and other health care facilities to increase pregnant women's knowledge about danger signs of pregnancy and compliance with antenatal care.

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued child growth standards that are applied throughout the world. These standards emphasize the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infants from birth to 6 months of age, which means that infants receive only breast milk from their mothers or from caregivers requested by their mothers to provide breast milk, without the addition of other liquids or solid foods, except for syrups containing vitamins, supplements, minerals, or medicines. The purpose of this study is to determine a correlation between mothers' knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Sawah Lebar Health Center in 2025. This study used a cross-sectional research method. The population in this study was all breastfeeding mothers. The sample in this study consisted of 35 respondents using purposive sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed that 31.4% of respondents had insufficient knowledge, and 48.6% did not practice exclusive breastfeeding. It is hoped that health services will provide information to increase exclusive breastfeeding

Abstract

Indonesia still faces various problems in the health of pregnant women, one of which is anxiety frequently experienced especially in the third trimester approaching childbirth. Physical, psychological, and hormonal changes during pregnancy can increase feelings of fear, worry, and discomfort that affect the condition of pregnant women. Anxiety experienced by pregnant women can affect various aspects of health, one of which is sleep quality. Sleep disturbances that occur can disrupt daily activities and reduce the comfort and well-being of pregnant women. This study aims to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality of pregnant women in the third trimester facing childbirth in the working area of Sawah Lebar Health Center, Bengkulu City, 2025. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample in this study were all pregnant women in the third trimester totaling 32 respondents using total sampling technique. The instruments used were the Pregnancy Related Anxiety Questionnaire-Revised (PRAQ-R2) and to measure the level of anxiety the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to assess sleep quality. The results showed that most pregnant women in the third trimester experienced severe anxiety levels totaling 23 respondents (71.9%) and most respondents had poor sleep quality totaling 17 respondents (53.1%). Bivariate analysis results showed there was a relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality of pregnant women in the third trimester with a p-value =0.001 (< 0.05), which means the higher the level of anxiety the worse the sleep quality of pregnant women. It is expected that the health workers can increase efforts in education and nursing interventions to help reduce anxiety levels of pregnant women in the third trimester so that sleep quality can be well maintained. In addition, pregnant women are expected to be able to utilize health services optimally as part of preparation for facing childbirth.

Abstract

Anemia is one of the health problems that often occurs in adolescent girls and can have an impact on health, concentration in learning, and academic achievement. One of the efforts that can be made to prevent anemia is through health education. This study aims to determine the effect of health education on the level of knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia at SMP Negeri 10, Bengkulu city. This study used a pre-test and post-test design with a quantitative approach. The study was conducted on January 21-22, 2026, with 52 seventh-grade female students as respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire on knowledge about anemia. Health education was provided using PowerPoint media accompanied by the provision of Fe Tablets (TTD). Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The normality test used Shapiro-Wilk and the statistical test used was the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that before being given health education, most respondents had sufficient knowledge (44.2%) and there were still respondents with insufficient knowledge (38.5%). After receiving health education, there was an increase in the level of knowledge, with most respondents in the sufficient knowledge category (53.8%) and almost half of the respondents in the good knowledge category (46.2%). The Wilcoxon test results showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that health education had an effect on the level of knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia. It can be concluded that health education has an effect on increasing the level of knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia. Therefore, health education needs to be continued as an effort to prevent anemia from an early age in adolescent girls.
