Abstract

Media sosial yang hadir di tengah masyarakat menjadi ruang virtual untuk saling berkomunikasi antar pengguna jarak jauh. Media sosial ternyata memberikan pengaruh terhadap kehidupan penggunanya, salah satunya adalah perilaku menampilkan foto-foto aspek positif kehidupan penggunanya yang seringkali menimbulkan berbagai persepsi dari pengguna lainnya. Luasnya informasi di media sosial mengenai kehidupan seluruh penggunanya menyebabkan munculnya berbagai sudut pandang dan persepsi. Hal ini dapat menimbulkan perbandingan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak perbandingan sosial terhadap pengguna media sosial. Tinjauan literatur dilakukan terhadap 8 artikel penelitian dengan subjek pengguna media sosial. Hasil tinjauan pustaka ini menunjukkan bahwa perbandingan sosial berdampak negatif terhadap pengguna media sosial. Perbandingan sosial berdampak pada meningkatnya gaya hidup hedonistik, ketidakpuasan tubuh, dan kecemasan sosial serta menurunnya kebahagiaan, kualitas hidup, citra tubuh, harga diri, dan kesejahteraan subjektif.

Abstract

Gender role merupakan konsep yang terbentuk oleh budaya, dan konstruk sosial yang sudah disosialisasikan sejak dini. Dalam masyarakat, pemaknaan gender role sendiri dapat memunculkan adanya gender stereotyping yang kemudian memunculkan ketidaksetaraan gender. Literature review ini dibuat dengan tujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pemaknaan gender role yang terbentuk pada masyarakat dalam berbagai setting disetiap budaya. Hasil kajian dilakukan kepada sembilan jurnal yang berasal dari negara India, Indonesia, Turki, Spanyol, Swedia, dan Afrika Selatan dalam berbagai setting berbeda dikehidupan sehari-hari. Ditemukan bahwa India, Indonesia, Turki, Spanyol, dan Afrika Selatan merupakan negara penganut pemaknaan gender role tradisional dikarenakan dalam negara tersebut ditemukan adanya ketidaksetaraan gender, gender stereotyping, bahkan femicide. Pada Swedia, Indonesia, dan Spanyol merupakan negara yang sedang berusaha untuk memperjuangkan kesetaraan gender, dikarenakan hal tersebut berefek terhadap work-life balance, peningkatan kualitas pendidikan, dan perkembangan ekonomi. Untuk kedepannya, disarankan agar masyarakat dapat menerapkan edukasi gender sejak dini demi menciptakan adanya kesetaraan gender.

Abstract

In recent years, cases about juvenile deliquency in Indonesia has increased with the most cases are sexual harassment, drugs, murdering, and stealing (Hasinta, 2010). According to Indonesian regulation nomor 12 tahun 1995, if a juvenile deliquency case has been done by an 18 year old adolescent or less and it has been proved by the court, the adolescent will be called anak pidana and they will be educated in a prison for adolescent but more like education centre, such as in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kelas II B Karangasem, Bali. Living in a lembaga pemasyarakatan will be much different from common life outside, such as experiencing the loss of freedom (Dewi, 2012). In surviving to this situation, adolescent needs to know the meaning of their life and this issue attracts the researcher to find out what is the meaning of life of anak pidana who lives in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kelas II B Karangasem. This study use qualitative method with phenomenological approach, with 6 anak pidana as the subject. The result shows that there are 6 aspect of the meaning of life of anak pidana who lives in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kelas II B Karangasem, which are the most valuable thing in life, satisfaction in life, freedom, right to live, personal change, and life-acceptance in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kelas II B Karangasem. Abstract

The increasing sales of cosmetics beauty products make the product marketing technique expanding and many sales promotion girl are employed to be important part in promoting women beauty product. Attractive physical appearance in sales promotion girls will draw consumer attention to them. Physical appearance itself correlates with body image in sales promotion girls. According Konstanski (2007) body image will be affected to self confidence. Self confidence makes a person develop self-evaluation. The self-evaluation will shape perceptions of productivity. According to that, researcher wants to find relationship between body image and perception of productivity in sales promotion girls of beauty product in Denpasar City. Method in this research is correlational study. Subjects in this research are 110 sales promotion girls in Denpasar City. Data are collected by body image scale and perception of productivity scale. Test of item validity in body image scale shows there are 27 invalid items and 23 valid items from 50 items, and its reliability coefficient is 0,829. Test of item validity in perception of productivity scale shows there are 2 invalid items and 23 valid items from 25 items, and its reliability coefficient is 0,838. Data analysis shows data are normal and linear. Pearson’s product moment is run for data analysis. Coefficient of correlation between body image and productivity is 0,49 in significance level 0,05. It means that hypothesis in this research that states there is relationship between body image and perception of productivity in sales promotion girls of beauty product in Denpasar City is accepted. Abstract

Self concept is a reflection of the judgement of others (Charles Cooley, in Watson, Borlall-Tregerthan, & Frank, 1984). The formation of individual self concept is influenced by several factors, one of which is peers in adolescence is a very important figure for indiciduals. Not all teens get through phase of adolescence his parents. There are some situations that cause adolescent should live apart from their parents, by staying at the orphanage institution for example. This different conditions will certainly affect the processes occurring friendship with the adolescent peer groups which will certainly affect the formation of self concept. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between peer group acceptance of the self concept in adolescents orphanage in the District Badung, Bali.Subjects in this study were 170 adolescents (girls=101, boys=69) who lived in the orphanage which is in the District Badung-Bali. The instrument of this research are self concept and peer group acceptance scale. Self concept scale consisted of 30 item with a reliability coefficient of 0,875. Peer group acceptance scale consisted of 21 item with a reliability coefficient of 0,873.Product moment correlation analysis result showed the correlation of 0,719 with a significance level of 0,000 (p<0,05), which means that there is a significant and positive relationship between peer group acceptance and self concept in adolescents orphanage in the District Badung, Bali. The higher the intensity of the peer group acceptance, the more positive self concept in adolescents orphanage in the District Badung, Bali. Abstract

In psychology, lesbian has not regarded as a psychiatric disorder since 1973 until now based on guidebook of the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder). But until now presence of lesbians on the society are still faced with a denial and violation of religion, norms, and values prevailing in society. In Indonesia, especially in Bali, lesbian being as individual mostly "down" due to two main things, there are strong patriarchy culture that makes women as a minority and then because lesbians are still considered a disease and deviant. This makes the lesbian increasingly difficulty in adjusting to society that makes lesbian experience barriers to self-disclosure (coming out). Doing coming out in lesbian is not easy, especially in the lesbian femme which recognized very good at hiding his identity as a lesbian, because other people cannot just interpret a feminine woman is a lesbian. This makes the researchers want to determine the factors that hinder the coming out on lesbian femme in Bali.This study uses qualitative research methods with phenomenology approach. Respondents this study were four people who have an identity as a lesbian femme in Bali and have not done of coming out phase as a lesbian. The results of this study indicate that all respondents have not been able to reach the final stage of coming out as known as integration stage. The respondents only can reach the stage of awareness, exploration and acceptance. There are two limiting factor which inhibit of coming out phase, factors that originate from within the individual (internal limiting factor) and the factors that come from outside the individual (external limiting factor). Internal limiting factor obtained in the research that is the hope of re-heterosexual, guilt, and love, while the external limiting factor is influenced by family, social pressures, norms and culture. Abstract

Behavior reflects the aggressiveness of the individual, as often occurs in Indonesia. One of many events has reflected the aggressiveness of the Army’s members. These events make the people become restless. A member of the Army in a period of education is trained hard, discipline, and will obey the command, in order to be prepared to maintain the sovereignty of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). This situation is not only giving an impact to the members of the Army, but also for their social interaction. A member of the army must be ready placed anywhere and anytime accordance with the instructions given by the institution. One of the factors that can affect the aggressiveness is adaptability. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between adjustment and aggressiveness to the Army KODAM Members IX/Udayana, in Bali.Subjects of this study were 439 members of the Army KODAM IX/Udayana in Bali which consists of eight entities supervised by the institution KODAM IX/Udayana. The instrument of this research is the scale of adjustment and scale of aggressiveness that has tested the validity and reliability of the scale and has a scale adjustment to the value of ? = 0.856; aggressiveness scale with the value ? = 0.913.The analysis showed the P value or Sig. 0.000 (p <0.05), which means that there is a significant relationship between the adjustment to the aggressiveness of the Army KODAM IX/Udayana members in Bali. Score correlation coefficient between the two variables showed R= -0.562 which means that the strength of the relationship between the two variables in a medium category, as the value of r lies in the range 0.400-0.599, and has a negative relationship or in opposite directions. Abstract

Recent years, development of the epidemic disease of AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) has become quite frightening for the people of the world (Zarpatista, 2012). In Indonesia there are currently 75 regencies/cities which have a very high prevalence of HIV-AIDS, among others due to the increasing of transmission from husband to wife (Wardah, 2013). The province of Bali including is one of the six provinces that has status of epidemic HIV-AIDS besides Papua, Riau, Jakarta, Jawa Barat, and Jawa Timur (Suriyani, 2006). In many cases, women infected with HIV from her partner/husband because women did not have power of both socially and economically to protect herself (Nainggolan, 2004). Based on pre eliminary study that conducted by researchers in Yayasan Citra Usadha (YCUI) on the three regencies area program that is Buleleng, Jembrana, and Karangasem, discrimination recognized did occur in some cases of ODHA in Bali especially women. One of the problem in ODHA’s life is not only related to the stigma and discrimination from the around environment, but also with their self condition acceptance (Rasyida, 2008). This situation attracts researcher to find out the self acceptance in Balinese woman who lives with HIV-AIDS. This study use qualitative method with phenomenological approach and 5 Balinese women who lives with HIV-AIDS as the respondents, the data collected with observation and in depth-interview conducted during 7 months. The result shows that there 9 representation of self-acceptance in Balinese woman who lives with HIV-AIDS which are be grateful, optimistic and always trying to do the optimum, have the right and feel equal with others, do not want to treated differently, want to help and sharing with others, self introspection, being closer with God. Abstract

As a social human being, a human cannot live by him/her self; he/she needs somebody else to interact, socialize, and have a relationship, which eventually create new generations through sexual intercourse (Sumpami, 2008). Marriage is a physical and mental bonding between a man and a woman as a wife and a husband to build a happy and eternal family based on one almighty God. Bali is one of Indonesian provinces that still strongly hold its tradition. To have a child is a kind of requisite in Balinese marriage. A preliminary study conducted by a researcher on 2013 shows that 8 out of 20 Balinese women chose to get pregnant before marriage because of the requisition from their partner and partner’s parent (Saraswaty, 2013). Based on this fact, many study are having interest to find out Balinese women’s motivation to get pregnant before marriage. This research used qualitative method with phenomenology design. Respondents are four Balinese women, which were chosen through purposive sampling method. The research results show that the interviewees have intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on deciding to get premarital pregnancy. The intrinsic motivation, consist of a feeling of have found perfect match, being accepted by partner’s parents, a desire to be loved deeper, felt appreciated and fidelity of partner, tried to prove that be able to have a baby. While the extrinsic motivation are a feeling of being scared of people’s contempt, afraid that her partner will get married again, motivated to get a better life, getting attention from partner and partner’s parents, and having grown up and responsible partner. Abstract

In these past years, the phenomenon’s of suicide case are becomes worrying. Indonesia, as one of a country who has a collective culture has a quite high number of suicide case. WHO estimates that by year 2020 the number of suicide case in Indonesia will be increased up to 2.4 percent from 100.000 people, if the government and the society don’t take it as serious things to concern (Mardani, 2012). Bali province as one of the province in Indonesia has a high rate in case of suicide, besides the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Hawari, 2010). Suicide cases in Bali are majority done by man, young adult people (Lesmana, 2008). Suicide and the attempted suicide are one of the ways or act to hurt or harm themselves, which arise as one of the effect of an intrapsychic conflict within themselves. One of the factors that is influence the occurring of a behavior including the suicide behavior and the attempted suicide are the self-concept. The self-concept is a way of someone to see themselves, the perception about the social environment (the other people), and also the perception about the way people think and see about themselves. This phenomenon becomes an interesting thing by the researcher to know what self-concept that is owned by the man young adult person suicide attempters in Bali. This study use qualitative method and phenomenological approach, with 5 (five) man young adult suicide attempters in Bali. This study shows that there are 5 (five) component of self-concept that is occurs in the man young adult in Bali, however this component self-concept are not totally positive. Eventhough there are self-components that is shows the positive things of a self-acceptance and self-evaluation, but, almost of this shows the negative side of the self-concept characteristic, especially the social self component and the personal self component that is owned by the respondents. Some factors that is influence the self-concept of the man young adult suicide attempters in Bali are, the education, the economic, genetic, social learning, and culture.
