Abstract

Multicultural education is still very foreign to elementary school teachers and students. Need innovation in introducing multicultural education to elementary school students through educational story book. The aims of this study are: 1) developing educational story book based on tolerance character, 2) knowing the feasibility of the educational story book based on experts’ judgment, 3) knowing the responses of teachers and students after using educational story book. The development procedure adopted Borg and Gall model. Data collection techniques were questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis techniques was descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis of interactive model. Small group trial subject used six students in the 5th grade of Wirosaban Elementary School. While the large group trial used 20 students in the 5th grade of Pakel Elementary School. The results of the study are educational story book with the title "Berbeda tapi Sama (Divers but the Same)". The mean score of the experts’ assessment are from the learning material is 86,53, language expert is 87,5, and media expert is 88,33. The teacher response in the small group trial is 98,33 and the students’ response  is 99,58. The teacher's response in the large group trial is 81,66 and the students response is 97,87. All assessments from experts, teachers, and students are in a very good category. It can be concluded that educational story book with the title "Berbeda tapi Sama " is very feasible to be used to introduce multicultural education in elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to identify learning problems and the parents’roles in overcoming learning difficulties of 5th-grade students of Muhammadiyah Karangturi Elementary School, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Research participants were six students with learning difficulties, six parents, and four teachers. Selection of subjects used purposive sampling technique. Research object was the parents’ roles in overcoming students’ learning difficulties. This research was a qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis technique was the interactive model (data collection, data reduction, data models, and drawing conclusions). The results showed that the problems experienced by students with learning difficulties in Muhammadiyah Karangturi Elementary School were lower than average learning outcomes, slow understanding, and lack of reasonable attitudes, behavior, and emotional symptoms during the learning process. The parents’ roles in overcoming students’ learning difficulties are finding tutoring institutions for children, accompanying children when coming and going home from school, being good listeners, accompanying learning activities at home, taking children on the first day of school, meeting with teachers through parents association, and present at the distribution of learning outcomes report card.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the development steps and the appropriateness of multicultural education module based on the character of patriotism and nationalism in thematic learning for students in 2nd grade Elementary School. This is a research and development applying Borg and Gall design. The trial was conducted on 10 students of 2nd grade in Muhammadiyah Bodon Elementary School. The data collection techniques in this research were interviews, observations, module feasibility assessments by experts, teachers’ assessment, and questionnaire of learners’ responses. The eligibility of the multicultural education module is shown by the result of the assessment by the validation experts at the time of FGD. The validation by media expert scored of 72, the validation by learning expert scored of 74, and the validation by language expert scored of 60. The limited product trial were conducted in class II A, based on the students' assessment get the mean score of 37.5, while the assessment by the teacher scored 70 , both are very good category. The field trial were conducted in class II B, based on the students' score, obtained 36.94 score, and 76 from the teachers; both are very good category.

Abstract

Learning will be memorable if students practice directly about the material being studied, but also the activity of students greatly affect their ability to absorb the material. With active students practice directly about the material being studied can help teachers in delivering the material being studied, especially on materials that are full of memorization as in the social studies in elementary school. For that new innovation is needed in the learning activities that are able to support students' activities in the learning process. This study aims to determine the steps of development of portfolio assessment and to determine the appropriateness of applying portfolio assessment to support student activeness in IPS learning. This research is a type of research development (R & D). The procedure is to conduct preliminary study to know the potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product test, product trial revision. Portfolio assessment instruments are validated by expert testers, ie evaluation experts, materials experts and learning specialists. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Kalangan in May 2017. The data collection instrument was done with expert validation, observation sheet, and student response sheet. In this research, data analysis is done with qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that in terms of quality portfolio assessment included in the category of very good, which is suitable to be used as application of learning. The results obtained from the validation of the expert evaluation obtained a value of 68.75 with good category, the results of the material experts obtained a value of 77.78 with good category, and the results of the expert learning obtained a value of 100 with very good category. The result of the test based on the students' appraisal was obtained by 90.27 with very good category, from the observer scores obtained the value of 81.25 with very good category..

Abstract

The purpose of this classroom aaction research was to describe application of cooperative learning teams games tournament type assisted Lectora to improve motivation and learning outcomes in social studies elementary school. Subject were fourth grade student in SD N Tukangan Yogyakarta. Result found application of the cooperative learning type teams games tournament type assisted Lectora improves motivation and learning outcomes in social studies elementary school.

Abstract

The background of this research is fact in the field regarding low knowledge of the community about disaster mitigation. Besides, there is no knowledge material presentation about volcano eruption disaster mitigation that routinely scheduled at schools in disaster prone areas. A media is needed to deliver knowledge material about mitigation and can be integrated in learning. This research aims to develop and determine the feasibility of picture story books about volcano eruption disaster mitigation for elementary school students in disaster prone areas. This is a Research and Development which carried out eight stages. The result of the assessments from the media expert is 85.33 (very good), material expert is 89.6 (very good), language expert is 76 (good), product test is 95.08 (very good), and application test is 88.66 (very good). All assessments average score is 86.93 converted into qualitative data is in the category of "Very Good".

Abstract

Abstract. This research was motivated by the problems found in elementary schools, which are students’ low literacy ability and lack of supporting books in learning. This research aimed to develop pocket book teaching material, determine the feasibility and the effectiveness of the 5W + 1H based pocket book on the kingdoms history material to improve reading literacy in the fourth grade elementary school students. The Development Procedure used the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Small group trial subjects were 10 students from grade IV Shidiq and large group trials were 28 students from grade IV Amanah. While the operational field trial were conducted on 30 students from grade IV Fatonah and Tabligh. The results of the research on the feasibility test of media expert got a score of 78,91 with the category of "very feasible", material expert got a score of 93,2 with the category of "very feasible", learning expert got a score of 93,2 with the category of "very feasible", and language expert got a score of 85,4 with the category of "very feasible". In the assessment of the response of the teachers got a score of 93,62 with the category "very feasible" and the assessment of grade 4 students got a score of 97,82 with the category of "very feasible". The effectiveness was tested using One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design and analysis using the normality test and Paired T-test. In the normality test, the data obtained were normally distributed with a significance value of pretest 0,98 and posttest (200). While in the Paired T-test, the average score is 69,00 pretest and posttest and the results of the significance (p) is 0,000 and smaller than the significance of 0.05 (0,000 <0.05).

Abstract

Program ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan guru dalam diagnostik kesulitan belajar (DKB) dan meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam diagnostik kesulitan belajar (DKB). Program ini terdiri dari 2 tahapan yaitu pelatihan dan pendampingan. Adapun metodenya adalah metode ceramah, diskusi, praktik, dan self and group reflection. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam melaksanakan intervensi kesulitan belajar. Proses intervensi diawali dari Identifikasi jenis gaya belajar, identifikasi jenis/faktor kesulitan belajar siswa, perencanaan (penyusunan program, penyusunan instrumen), pelaksanaan (intervensi langsung, melalui media, melalui metode, tutor sebaya, pelibatan orang tua, remidial, dan pengayaan), serta evaluasi dan tindak lanjut.

Abstract

Banyak faktor yang menyebabkan siswa mengalami gangguan kesulitan belajar. Salah satunya yaitu gangguan psikologis ringan. Selama ini masalah gangguan kesulitan belajar siswa di Gugus II Girikerto ini belum ditangani dengan maksimal. Hal ini dikarenakan pengetahuan guru di Gugus II Girikerto dalam mengidentifikasi gangguan kesulitan belajar siswa dan merencanakan bentuk intervensi masih relatif minim.  Program pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan guru dalam mengidentifikasi gangguan kesulitan belajar, gangguan psikologis ringan, serta merencanakan program intervensinya.  Metode yang dilaksanakan dengan pelatihan yang bersifat problem based learning dengan mengangkat masalah kontekstual. Hasil pelatihan antara lain: pertama, hasil rerata angket self evaluation sebesar 67,55. Sebanyak 21 (66%) guru memiliki kemampuan mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa di atas rerata, dan sisanya 11 (34%) guru memiliki kemampuan mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa di bawah rerata. Kedua, guru mampu mengidentifikasi ganggun psikologis ringan melalui panduan skrining gejala gangguan psikologis. Ketiga, guru mampu merancang bentuk intervensi gangguan kesulitan belajar melalui metode token economy. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan ini mampu meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru di Gugus II Girikerto mengenai intervensi gangguan kesulitan belajar yang disebabkan oleh gangguan psikologis ringan pada siswa SD.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujan untuk mengetahui prosedur pengembangan dan kelayakan dari media pembelajaran Kayaku (Kayanya Alam Negeriku) berbasis STEM. Produk yang dikembangkan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan literasi dasar peserta didik kelas IV sekolah dasar pada tema 9 subtema 2 pembelajaran 1. Penelitian pengembangan yang digunkanadalah Research and Development (RnD) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Hasil penilaian yag didapat dari uji validasi ahli memperoleh rerata 92,80. Hasil yang diperoleh dari respon guru mendapat rerata 80. Adapun yang dihasilkan dari penilaian peserta didik yaitu uji coba kelompok kecil memperoleh rerata 93,33 dan uji coba kelompok besar memperoleh rerata 90,74. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari penilaian uji validasi ahli serta uji coba lapangan yaitu guru dan peserta didik memperoleh rerata 88,28. Apabila dianalisis menggunakan data kuantitas, maka media kayaku berbasis STEM menunjukkan bahwa media dikategorikan sangat layak digunakan sebagai media dalam proses pembelajaran. Apabila dianalisis menggunakan data kualitatif, maka media kayaku berbasis STEM menunjukkan bahwa media menumbuhkan motivasi belajar bagi peserta didik, melatih membaca dan pemahaman peserta didik, serta menumbuhkan inovasi bagi guru.
