Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of three vocabulary learning methods that are Contextual Clues, Dictionary Strategy, and Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in learning vocabulary among ESL learners. First, it purposes at finding which of the vocabulary learning methods namely Vocabulous (Vocabulary Various), Drill and CALL that may result in the highest number of words learnt in the immediate and delayed recall tests. Second, it compares the results of the Pre‐test and the Delayed Recall Post‐test to determine the differences of learning vocabulary using the methods. A quasi‐experiment tested the effectiveness of learning vocabulary using Dictionary Strategy, Contextual clues, and CALL involved 40students. Qualitative procedures included the collection of data from interviews which were conducted to triangulate the data obtain from the quantitative inquiries. Findings from the study using ANOVA revealed that there were significant differences when students were exposed to Vocabulous, Drill and CALL in the immediate recall tests but not in the Delayed Recall Post‐test. Also, there were significant differences when t test was used to compare the scores between the Pre‐test and the Delayed Recall Post‐test in using the three methods of vocabulary learning. Although many researchers have advocated the relative effectiveness of Vocabulous, Drill, and CALL in learning vocabulary, the study however, is still paramount since there is no study has ever empirically investigated the relative efficacy of these three methods in a single study.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the use of vocabulary learning strategies (VLSs) by Music and Dance students as well as the impact of gender and grade levels on the use of learning strategies. A five Likert scale questionnaire, consisting of 36 items was classified under four strategy categories was administrated to 466 participants from the State University of Surabaya. There are male and female. The Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS, version 20) was used to analyze the obtained data. The results of the descriptive statistics showed that The State university of Surabaya students were medium strategy users. The study also found that the cognitive strategies were the most popular strategies among the learners. Social strategies were found to be the least preferred strategies. The results of the t-test showed that in general, the scores of female learners regarding the use of VLSs were slightly higher than male learners. Moreover, Music learners were found to be more strategy users than Dance learners. The results of ANOVA revealed significant differences regarding the use of VLSs and grade levels. Abstract

This research aims to analyze legal considerations for business credit without collateral and analyze legal protection for banks that provide business credit without collateral. The research method used in this research is normative juridical. The results of the research show that business credit providers have legal protection if business credit without collateral is carried out through preventive protection, which of course requires a formula based on the contents of credit agreement that has been determined and must be implemented if a default occurs. There is a need for the contents of agreement to be precise so it can be binding and stated in the credit agreement, which of course has also been agreed upon by all parties; legal protection, which is considered repressive; as a reference in taking steps if there is a risk of loss from the business carried out by the capital provider; and the need for an institution to Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Financial Services Sector (LAPS Financial Services Sector) is an institution that resolves disputes in the financial services sector outside of court. If the credit repayment stage is problematic, it is necessary to resolve it without harming both parties based on the amount of credit given is not a large amount. So, an Alternative Financial Services Sector Dispute Resolution Institution (Financial Services Sector LAPS) is needed to resolve disputes through face-to-face meetings before a mediator or arbitrator, electronic media, or document inspection.

Abstract

Child neglect by parents is very often found in society, including in Jambi. Based on data from the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Jambi City Police, in the 2020-2022 period there were at least 8 (eight) cases of child neglect. For this reason, the author will examine this problem with the help of criminological science to obtain conclusions regarding the factors that cause the crime of child neglect, the obstacles faced by the Jambi City Resort Police PPA, and also efforts to overcome them.  The research method used is empirical juridical with interview techniques. The results of related research suggest that the factors causing the crime of child neglect by parents in Jambi City are economic factors, internal family factors and also environmental factors. The obstacles faced by the Jambi City Police PPA Unit in handling the crime of child neglect by parents are difficulties in collecting evidence and witnesses and related parties not being cooperative. Efforts to overcome this criminal act are pre-emptive, preventive and finally repressive.

Abstract

Teks narasi digital memiliki struktur teks yang terdiri atas informasi wisata dan memori referensi diri. Elemen naratif ini merangsang empati pembaca terhadap destinasi dan memengaruhi keputusan mereka saat merencanakan liburan mereka. Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan teks naratif digital untuk meningkatkan pariwisata Nusantara. Elemen narasi yang sarat akan informasi dan pengalaman pribadi dapat meyakinkan pembaca dan mempengaruhi keputusan akan perencanaan destinasi liburan yang diambil. Dalam penelitian ini, pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan tahap akhir penarikan kesimpulan dilakukan melalui penggunaan metodologi dokumentasi dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teks narasi digital dapat memberikan pengetahuan yang mendalam tentang suatu destinasi wisata sekaligus memberikan efek kesenangan yang membuat pembaca bersimpati dan tertarik mengunjungi lokasi yang diceritakan. Platform teks naratif digital juga memungkinkan penyebaran informasi yang cepat dan massif sehingga dapat menjangkau semua kalangan. Strategi ini merupakan alat promosi yang efektif untuk memperkenalkan pariwisata nusantara yang kaya akan tradisi dan budaya.

Abstract

Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) telah menetapkan Corona Virus Disease 2019 menjadi Pandemi Internasional. Negara Indonesia sendiri dalam keppres no nomor 11 tahun 2020 menetapkan Kedaruratan Kesehatan Masyarakat Corana VirusDisease 2019 (COVID-l9) di lndonesia yang wajib dilakukan upaya penanggulangan sesuai dengan ketemtuan peraturan perundang-undangan. Dalam rangka membantu pemerintah menanggulangi COVID 19 ini. Salah satu bentuk bantuan Unesa adalah melalui penyelenggaraan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Penugasan COVID 19 yang berfokus pada penanganan covid 19, seperti mengembangkan pembelajaran online pada sekolah. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu MGMP Bahasa Inggris terutama di Kota Surabaya dengan cara meningkatkan pengajaran dengan adanya workshop media online sehingga diharapkan mampu mendukung himbauan pemerintah untuk melakukan social dan physical distancing agar penyebaran Covid 19 bisa dikendalikan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penyelesaikan masalah adalah pendekatan task-based dan model learn and practice. Peserta pelatihan adalah guru SMP dari beberapa sekolah di Surabaya yangtelah ditunjuk oleh pembina dan ketua MGMP Surabaya. Dalam hal ini, guru akan mendapatkan materi yang langsung akan diikuti dengan workshop desain penyusunan pembelajaran kolaborasi dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi digital. Pelatihan media online dimana guru-guru mempraktikkan secara langsung penggunaan media pembelajaran dengan beberapa aplikasinya mampu menumbuhkan kolaborasi siswa dan ketertarikan terhadap mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung secara daring. Melalui media online guru dapat memonitor pembelajaran, melakukan assessment, dan melakukan transfer ilmu sehingga proses belajar mengajar tetap dapat berjalan secara maksimal.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the process and find out the results of the development of Canva-assisted mathematics learning media for class VIII opportunity material at SMP Negeri 4 Enrekang and to find out whether the media can help students understand opportunity material. This type of research is research and development using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model developed by Robert Maribe Branch. This product trial was carried out on 28 students in class VIII B at SMP Negeri 4 Enrekang. The ADDIE model in Analysis, researchers analyzed the curriculum, materials, needs and characteristics of students. Then in Design, the template design and animation are carried out. Meanwhile, in Development, media creation, media revision and media assessment are carried out. These results show that the level of validity based on expert validation is at the "very valid" criterion. In the practicality response the criteria were "very practical" and the level of implementation of media use was in the "very good" category. Meanwhile, the level of media effectiveness based on test scores on student learning outcomes is categorized as "medium", the level of student activity is in the "very good" category and student responses are in the "very positive" category. Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, it can be concluded that mathematics learning media Canva's assistance in opportunity material for class VIII SMP Negeri 4 Enrekang was declared quality and met the criteria of being valid, practical and effective

Abstract

Procurement of land for public purposes is the implementation of the social function of land rights. Therefore, every person who has rights to land is required to relinquish his rights to land for the sake of the public interest, including the interests of the nation and state as well as the common interests of the people. For the procurement of land for public purposes, each person is entitled to compensation from the state as occurred in the procurement of land for development of the National Cultural Heritage of Muaro Jambi Regency. Every person whose land, whether in the form of property rights or planting rights, grows into and/or is affected by the object of procurement must be given compensation. However, in reality, the process of land acquisition for public purposes is not free from many obstacles because it is related to the interests of many people. The study in this scientific work relates to forms of compensation for the community, obstacles in the compensation process and the efforts made by the government to overcome the obstacles present in the compensation process for freehold land and growing planting land for land acquisition for cultural heritage development in Muaro Jambi. The research approach was carried out socio-legally with primary data and secondary data.

Abstract

Karya tulis ilmiah ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan teknik dongeng sebagai metode pengajaran orang tua kepada anak di TK RA Mentari. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan campuran (mixed-methods) dengan menggabungkan data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam kegiatan ini adalah seluruh orang tua dari anak-anak yang bersekolah di TK RA Mentari, dengan sampel penelitian dipilih secara purposif. Pelatihan teknik dongeng dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan orang tua dalam menggunakan dongeng sebagai alat pengajaran kepada anak-anak. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada keterampilan orang tua setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Orang tua mampu mengintegrasikan teknik dongeng dengan kreativitas dan efektivitas dalam aktivitas pembelajaran bersama anak di rumah dan di sekolah. Dampak implementasi teknik dongeng oleh orang tua pada perkembangan anak juga diamati melalui observasi perilaku anak di kelas dan wawancara dengan guru atau pengasuh. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak yang memiliki orang tua yang aktif dalam menggunakan teknik dongeng menunjukkan peningkatan dalam perkembangan bahasa, moral, dan imajinasi. Pelatihan teknik dongeng sebagai metode pengajaran orang tua kepada anak di TK RA Mentari memberikan dampak positif dan signifikan dalam pendidikan anak usia dini.   This scientific paper aims to evaluate the effectiveness of storytelling technique training as a method of teaching for parents to their children at TK RA Mentari (Mentari Kindergarten). The method used is a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data. The population of this study consists of all parents of children attending TK RA Mentari, with the research sample chosen purposively. The storytelling technique training was conducted to enhance the skills and knowledge of parents in using storytelling as a teaching tool for their children. The results of data analysis indicate a significant improvement in the skills of parents after attending the training. Parents were able to integrate storytelling techniques creatively and effectively in learning activities with their children at home and at school. The impact of implementing storytelling techniques by parents on children's development was also observed through the observation of children's behavior in the classroom and interviews with teachers or caregivers. The results showed that children with parents actively using storytelling techniques demonstrated improvements in language, moral, and imaginative development. Storytelling technique training as a method of teaching for parents at TK RA Mentari provides a positive and significant impact on early childhood education.

Abstract

In order to improve the economy, someone sometimes needs sufficient capital to start a business, so a credit loan is needed to be able to start it. In implementing the credit agreement, creditors often also want collateral to provide security and a sense of trust. One of the credit guarantees commonly used by the public is fiduciary guarantees. The Fiduciary Guarantee has legal procedures or procedures that must be complied with so that it has binding force and can provide legal protection for the parties. The problems in this research are 1) Legal Protection for Creditors to prevent the transfer of Fiduciary objects based on Law Number 42 of 1999 concerning Fiduciary Guarantees; 2) Transfer of Fiduciary Guarantee Objects based on Law Number 42 of 1999 concerning Fiduciary Guarantees; 3) Registration of fiduciary collateral objects to avoid transfer of fiduciary collateral objects. The purpose of this research is to find out how legal protection, transfer of objects and registration of fiduciary guarantees are according to Law Number 42 of 1999 concerning Fiduciary Guarantees. This research method is normative juridical research with descriptive research characteristics, using secondary data collected through literature study. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the transfer of fiduciary collateral objects that have not been registered without the creditor's consent is an action that is not justified by law (invalid). Legal protection for creditors in the event that a debtor transfers a Fiduciary Security object that has not been registered without the creditor's consent may subject the debtor to civil and criminal liability.
