Abstract

This article talks about orientalism. Orientalism is a scientific tradition and discipline that examines all matters relating to the East from a Western perspective. Unfortunately, the Western perspective and framework that is superior to the inferior East influences most of the results of the study. The author uses the criticism of Maryam Jameelah and Edward Said in seeing how Orientalism works. Both figures were chosen because of their unique religious, ethnic and racial background. Both have felt the atmosphere of life in the East (Palestine and Pakistan) and also in the West (America). Therefore, they are expected to be able to provide comments and views related to how Orientalism works. At the end, the author lists the attitude of the East man in addressing the results of the study of the orientalists, namely with a critical receptive attitude and not trapped with a receptive and rejective attitude through all results of study.

Abstract

This article tries to see a phenomenon called Echo Chambers through the perspective of Stella Ting-Toomey’s Intercultural Communication Theory. This study shows that the development of social media was also followed by the shadow of Echo Chambers. The tendency to isolate oneself and associate with those who understand one another will create separate spaces between one religion and another. As a result, communication which is an effort to eliminate the polarization of the differences between "Us" and "The Others" is precisely the way to form an exclusivism in cyberspace. Among the efforts to anticipate the emergence of a gap is to create melting-pot spaces in the real world. Counter narrative also needs to be built to open these exclusive barriers. Muslim scholars sought to introduce the importance of communication in achieving the harmony in community. Some Ulama have also explained the role and function of communication in achieving the goals of the ummah, as well as trying to provide an Islamic perspective regarding communication behavior. More important, is to create a person who is a wise, open user of social media and uses epoche in looking at the world outside.

Abstract

Teaching material is an important aspect for teaching and learning activities, In babusasalam boarding school teaching material for writing skills is very needed. All students must be able to write Arabic language properly and correctly, but the fact there are many student can't to write it properly. This happened, because the teaching and learning activities  in Arabic Writing lesson did not have any teaching materials relevant to student needs. Therefore, the researcher wants  to developing teaching materials on Arabic Writting lesson with the aim teaching material be able to be reference for the teacher. In this study, researchers used Research and Development theory. For data collection, the method using are : observation, interviews, documentation, trials and test. The results from post-test and pre-test showed that the teaching material  is effective for teaching arabic writing lesson. The development of teaching materials is carried out in the following stages; 1) preliminary study, 2) planning and developing material, 3) validity of experts, 4) specification of material objectives and teaching steps 5) design of teaching materials 6) Validity Test.

Abstract

يهدف هذا البحث على تعبير تطبيق وسيلة الإعلام التعليمية من "الجزيرة لتعليم العربية" في تعليم مهارة الكلام بجامعة دار السلام كونتور. شبكة الجزيرة لتعليم العربية هي إحدى وسائل الإعلام التعليمية في اللغة العربية أسسها حكومة قطر. تهدف هذه الوسيلة في مساعدة الناطقين بغير العربية في إستيعابها، خاصة من نواحي المهارات اللغوية الأربعة من الاستماع والكلام والكتابة والقراءة. ومن أجل ذلك، استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي الكيفي من خلال جمع البيانات على طريقة الملاحظة والوثائق. من هذا البحث، كشف الباحث عن الطرق المستخدمة في تعليم مهارة الكلام بمساعدة الوسائل من الجزيرة لتعليم العربية تحتوي على المحادثة والمناقشة إلقاء التقرير والتلخيص وسرد القصص والمحاضرة. تفيد هذه وسيلة الإعلام في إنماء إرادة تعلم التلاميد وتشجيعهم في ترقية مهارتهم الكلام كالناطقين بغيرها. الكلمات الرئيسية: وسائل التعليم؛ اللغة العربية؛ مهارة الكلام؛ الجزيرة لتعليم العربية.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi merupakan salah satu kemampuan kognitif dasar yang diperlukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, tingkat literasi di Indonesia, baik secara global maupun nasional masih tergolong rendah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa SDN 2 Dayakan, sekolah yang terletak di salah satu desa dengan status tertinggal di Kabupaten Ponorogo, kabupaten dengan tingkat penduduk buta huruf yang tinggi. Realisasi program pengabdian ini dimulai dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi menggunakan metode kekeluargaan dengan konsep pendekatan emosional antara pelaksana pengabdian dengan warga sekolah. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah program harian dan program mingguan. Program harian adalah pembiasaan membaca dan pembiasaan perhitungan Matematika sederhana, adapun program mingguan meliputi pembelajaran membaca berdiferensiasi, kegiatan membaca terbimbing, dan program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah SDN 2 Dayakan. Program-program tersebut diadakan dalam rangka memberikan nuansa baru dalam program literasi dan numerasi yang telah berjalan selama ini di SDN 2 Dayakan. Nuansa baru ini diperkenalkan dalam rangka merangsang minat siswa untuk datang ke sekolah dan meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi mereka dengan kegiatan-kegiatan yang menarik dan tidak monoton.

Abstract

Pemberlakuan PPKM Darurat Jawa dan Bali pada masa Juli 2021 digalakkan untuk menekan angka positif Covid-19 di pulau Jawa dan Bali. Namun, masih ditemukan beberapa pelanggaran protokol kesehatan oleh masyarakat. Pelanggaran ini dikarenakan berbagai alasan dan faktor. Pada bulan Juli ini juga bertepatan dengan Hari Raya Idul Adha 1442 H yang akan dirayakan oleh seluruh umat Muslim di Indonesia. Dengan angka positif Covid-19 yang belum turun, Menteri Agama membuat edaran terkait pelaksanaan ibadah qurban sesuai dengan protokol kesehatan yang ketat. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dalam rangka memberikan edukasi dan pendampingan selama pelaksanaan ibadah qurban, khususnya di wilayah Kabupaten Ponorogo, yang termasuk Zona Merah. Dalam pelaksanaannya, pengabdian ini akan diadakan dalam 3 tahap, yaitu 1) tahap persiapan, yang berisi survey lapangan dan koordinasi dengan panitia qurban; 2) edukasi tentang penerapan protokol kesehatan dalam pelaksanaan ibadah qurban; 3) pendampingan penerapan protokol kesehatan selama pelaksanaan ibadah qurban di Desa Jonggol, Kec. Jambon, Ponorogo, Jawa Timur.

Abstract

The Smith and Van Dyck Arabic Bible Translation, which first appeared in 1865, is the most widely used translation in the Christian Arab community. The expressions that appear in the translation have some quite striking differences with other Arabic translations of the Bible. This research will focus on one of the messages in Lord's Prayer, specifically Matthew 6:12 about prayer for forgiveness and forgiveness to others which has different diction from the Jesuit Arabic Bible of 1881. This study will use a post-colonialism perspective in Bible studies through semantic and intertextual analysis. This research concluded two main things. First, the quality of the SVD Bible translation from English to Arabic, as seen in Matthew 6:12 has a low level of accuracy and legibility. This can be seen from the choice of words "نغفر” as well as the use of verbs in the future form for source language texts that use the past tense. Second, the results of the SVD Bible translation also provide an overview of Western Christian ideology, which is quite dominant. The representation of this is the choice of the word "sin" rather than "debt", because debt is not a problem in a capitalist lifestyle. In fact, this mindset normalizes the existence of debt to meet the needs of human life. This shows that the translation movement carried out in the 19th century AD became one of the media for spreading the ideas of capitalism and colonialism to various colonial areas.

Abstract

This research focuses on the representation of Luqman Hakim's advice in the animation Upin and Ipin episode "Indahnya Rumah Rasa Sayang" using Living Qur'an perspective. This research is a qualitative descriptive research based on literature sources. The data used in this study came from observation and documentation. The purpose of this study, firstly, is to analyze the verbal messages in the series and Luqman's advice to his son in Surah Luqman 12-19. Secondly, this study aimed to discuss the application of the living Qur'an in popular culture, especially films. The results of the study found seven pieces of advice on abstaining from surah Luqman verse 12-19 that appear in this episode. Those advices are 1) a commandment to always be grateful 2) orders always do good to parents 3) explain all human actions, good and bad 4) commanding prayers and commanding to do ma'ruf (good), prevent the evil, and be patient in dealing with various things happened 5) giving a smile and a cheerful face and not looking away from other people because of pride 6) equalize in behaving and speaking; 7) maintain good manners in interacting with others. Keyword: Surah Luqman; Upin and Ipin serial; Animation for Children; Living Qur’an   Penelitian ini bertujuan membahas tentang representasi nasihat Luqman Hakim dalam animasi Upin dan Ipin episode “Indahnya Rumah Rasa Sayang”: Perspektif Living Qur’an. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang berbasis dari sumber-sumber pustaka. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari observasi dan dokumentasi dari tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu, pertama menganalisis pesan-pesan verbal di serial tersebut dan nasihat Lukman kepada anaknya dalam Surah Luqman 12-19. Kedua, mendiskusikan aplikasi living qur’an dalam budaya populer, khususnya film.  Hasil penelitian menjelaskan terdapat tujuh nasihat penting yang terdapat surat Lukman ayat 12-19 yang diimplementasikan dalam tayangan ini, yaitu 1) perintah untuk selalu bersyukur; 2) perintah selalu berbuat baik kepada orang tua; 3) menjelaskan seluruh perbuatan manusia, baik dan buruknya; 4) perintah shalat, mengerjakan yang ma’ruf, mencegah kemunkaran, serta sabar terhadap berbagai hal yang menimpa; 5) memberikan senyuman dan wajah yang ceria serta tidak memalingkan wajah dari orang lain karena sombong; 6) sederhana dalam bertingkah laku dan berbicara; 7) menjaga budi bahasa dalam berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing learning qira’ah (reading) skills in the Arabic-Online.net program within the learning assessment evaluation framework, especially the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as one of the international standards in foreign language learning. This research is qualitative research, and the primary data in this research is reading text in qira'ah material from all 16 levels in Arabic-Online.net. In the analysis, the researchers focused on the reading texts provided at each level in the program through the CEFR framework. Data analysis in this research used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on Miles and Huberman’s method. The research findings indicate that the reading skills instruction in the "Arabic-Online.net" application offers a diverse range of instructional materials. These materials are designed to help participants comprehensively master reading skills. The content, vocabulary, and exercises within this program align with the CEFR standards. This is demonstrated not only in the selection of themes with higher levels of difficulty but also through the inclusion of more complex questions and exercises. The chosen themes are systematically organized, starting from topics closely related to the participants' experiences and progressing to subjects further removed from daily life, such as transportation, administration, and legal issues. These diverse themes not only require a strong language proficiency with a command of vocabulary related to the themes but also demand critical and exploratory thinking from learners to grasp the discourse and main points of the reading materials.
