Abstract

This article describes a community service program that used Delivering Happiness as the main framework for strengthening the service capability of Dago Dream Park employees in Bandung. The program was developed from the practical assumption that service quality in tourism is shaped not only by technical procedures, but also by employees’ emotional climate, shared values, and sense of contribution. The activity was carried out on 29 April 2026 with 55 participants using a participatory training model that combined a brief needs review, pre-test, four learning sessions, reflective worksheets, group discussion, post-test, and individual action planning. The material focused on workplace happiness, WOW service, organizational culture, and meaningful work, then was contextualized to the interaction patterns commonly found in tourism services. The main outputs of the program were a training module, a Happiness Thermometer worksheet, a Culture Check sheet, pre-test and post-test instruments, and written personal commitments for workplace improvement. After the activity, participants showed better conceptual understanding, indicated by the change in the average score from 60% to 95%, and qualitatively demonstrated stronger awareness of caring service behaviour. This program indicates that a human-centered training design can be used as a practical strategy to improve service experience in tourism destinations.

Abstract

The Smart Money Management community service program was designed to improve financial literacy, self-efficacy, and reduce risky credit behavior among students at Kirirom Institute of Technology (KIT), Cambodia. In the context of students facing challenges in personal financial management due to lack of knowledge and experience, this program aims to equip them with basic knowledge of financial management through an educational and interactive approach. The implementation method includes delivering materials on the concepts of SMART Goal and Smart Money Management, as well as participatory training activities in the form of frugal living action pictures. The evaluation results showed that the financial literacy score increased from 2.37 to 2.57, and self-efficacy from 3.28 to 3.7, while the perception of risky credit behavior decreased by 0.08 points. In addition, the results of the personal assessment showed an increase in the number of students who had a high understanding of finance from 2 to 7 people. These findings indicate that the program was successful in improving participants' understanding and positive attitudes towards financial management. Thus, this program contributes to strengthening students' ability to make wise financial decisions and fostering a disciplined and independent attitude in managing their finances in the future.

Abstract

This article presents a report on a community service program in the form of a Public Speaking workshop “Dare to Speak and Good at Listening” for students in grades 1, 2, and 3 of Bandung Baptist Elementary School. This program was designed in response to the results of a Focus Group Discussion with parents and teachers that identified gaps in children’s communication skills, particularly speaking courage and listening skills. The method used was an experiential learning approach through a one-day interactive workshop on October 10, 2025, involving 47 students. Effectiveness was measured by pre-test and post-test observation sheets on 5 selected students and verbatim documentation of all activities that included eight stages, from ice breaking to reflection. The analysis results showed an increase in observation scores from 82 to 94 (+12 points). The most significant improvements were recorded in the aspects of public speaking courage and active listening skills, while technical aspects such as eye contact and voice clarity still require ongoing practice. Qualitative data confirmed the transformation of student behavior through more active participation and the application of communication ethics. This program has proven effective as an early intervention that bridges children’s communication gaps. Recommendations include the integration of experiential learning into the curriculum of subsequent workshops, as well as active parental involvement for sustainability.
