Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the competence of teachers at SDN 05 Perawang in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for writing educational textbooks. During the training sessions, participants were introduced to the use of ChatGPT for idea development and content structuring, Grammarly for language editing, and Canva Docs for layout design. The results indicated significant improvement in teachers’ abilities: idea generation increased from 25% to 90%, text structuring from 58% to 84%, language accuracy from 60% to 81%, and visual layout from 40% to 76%. Beyond technical enhancement, the program fostered greater teacher confidence in integrating AI ethically and creatively into their professional practice. Guided by the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the andragogical learning approach, this activity demonstrates that AI can accelerate the writing process, strengthen digital literacy, and cultivate a culture of independent writing in primary education environments. This mentoring model is recommended for replication in other schools as a sustainable effort to develop teacher professionalism through technology-based innovation.
