Abstract

Writing 汉字 [hànzì] has a fairly high level of difficulty because it has rules for writing in the letters. Students rarely write the letters 汉字 [hànzì] according to the rules for writing the stroke order. This study aims to describe the forms of errors in writing the stroke order of the letters 汉字 [hànzì] by students of class XI IBB SMA Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo and describe the factors that cause errors in writing the stroke order of letters 汉字 [hànzì]. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research instruments used were tests and questionnaires filled in by 22 students of class XI IBB SMA Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo. The results show that students still make many mistakes when writing the letters [hànzì], especially in the order of the strokes. Factors that cause students to make mistakes are because students have not mastered the material related to writing the letters 汉字 [hànzì], students have not been able to distinguish between basic and compound strokes, forget the order of writing the letters 汉字 [hànzì], lack of concentration and thoroughness when working on questions.

Abstract

It is well known that the richness of Chinese vocabulary is unrivaled, including Chinese synonyms. The highly developed performance of the Chinese language can be seen in the synonyms of the Chinese language. Learning Chinese synonyms is simple but complex, and requires us to understand the nuances between them and be good at recognizing them so that we can use them accurately. Through the experience of learning and teaching, this paper finds that Indonesian students often encounter difficulties with Chinese synonyms. In addition, through the short time of this paper's internship, this paper also finds that in Indonesian classroom teaching, teachers' explanation of synonyms is not clear and to the point. This time, this paper tries to suggest some pedagogical methods for Chinese teachers to teach synonyms. This article is just a guideline, and we hope that this article can be a reference for the Chinese language teaching community.

Abstract

This research discusses the meaning shift in Chinese to Indonesian translation of Chinese drama series 你是我的荣耀 [Nǐ Shì Wǒ de Róngyào]. Using Simatupang's theory, this study aims to identify and analyze the types of meaning shifts that occur. Data were collected from the first two episodes of the drama series and analyzed through descriptive qualitative method. The results show that there are three types of meaning shift, namely meaning shift due to cultural influence, meaning shift from specific to generic, and meaning shift from generic to specific. The shift in meaning due to cultural influence is the most frequent, influenced by the use of 成语 [chéngyǔ], particles, figurative words, catchwords, and differences in cultural context between BSu and BSa. The shift from specific to generic occurs when the translator simplifies specific terms to make them easier for the audience to understand. The shift of meaning from generic to specific occurs when the translator adds additional context to make it easier for the audience to understand. This study shows the importance of cultural understanding in the translation process to ensure an accurate translation that can be understood by the target language audience. Future researchers are advised to expand the research by analyzing more episodes or series from various genres for a deeper understanding of meaning shifts, and students studying translation are advised to learn more about the impact of meaning shifts on audience comprehension of translated texts.

Abstract

Terjemahan adalah proses pengalihan teks dari bahasa sumber (BSu) ke bahasa sasaran (BSa) yang dapat mengandung kesalahan, baik pada aspek bentuk maupun makna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis kesalahan terjemahan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa dalam kelas terjemahan serta mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya kesalahan tersebut. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen berupa tabel analisis dan lembar angket. Analisis data dilakukan berdasarkan teori bentuk versi Catford dan teori makna versi Simatupang. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa perlu meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang linguistik, padanan kata yang tepat, dan konteks budaya dalam penerjemahan. Terkait dengan faktor-faktor penyebab kesalahan terjemahan, ditemukan bahwa mahasiswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menerjemahkan secara akurat. Kesulitan ini disebabkan oleh faktor internal, seperti keterbatasan kosakata dan pemahaman budaya, serta faktor eksternal, seperti manajemen waktu yang kurang optimal dan kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi makna kompleks. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, mahasiswa berusaha memperluas kosakata, meningkatkan pemahaman budaya, dan mengembangkan keterampilan manajemen waktu. Meskipun demikian, kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi makna kompleks masih tetap menjadi tantangan.

Abstract

Despite the popularity of Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language in Indonesia, there has been a lack of attention given to the development of learning media for Indonesian learners. Consequently, this may hinder their comprehension of the materials. This study aims to develop an innovative learning media for Mandarin Chinese learners to help them master the Hànyǔ Shùzì material. The present study involves 27 students majoring in Mandarin Chinese Education at State University of Malang and employs the ADDIE research and development model by Dick and Carry (1996). The model comprises five stages, 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. To complement the model, we also used a qualitative descriptive method for the data analysis and employed questionnaires for material validation test, media test, and the subjects. The expert validations confirmed the validity of the Hànyǔ Shùzì learning media in terms of its materials and media. To conclude, the learning media is worth implementing in the teaching and learning process of Mandarin Chinese to Indonesian learners.Inovasi media audio visual: solusi pembelajaran Hanyu ShuziMeskipun bahasa Mandarin merupakan bahasa asing yang populer di Indonesia, media pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin masih belum banyak dikembangkan. Hal ini berakibat pada sulitnya mahasiswa pembelajar Bahasa Mandarin dalam memahami materi pembelajaran tanpa tersedianya media yang mendukung proses belajar mereka. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk membuat inovasi dengan mengembangkan media pembelajaran materi Hànyǔ Shùzì untuk digunakan oleh mahasiswa pembelajar bahasa Mandarin. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah 27 mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Mandarin, Universitas Negeri Malang. Pengembangan media Hànyǔ Shùzì menggunakan model pengembangan dari ADDIE oleh Dick and Carry Pengembangan media ini terdiri dari 5 langkah, yaitu 1) Analisis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Evaluation, 5) Implementation. Metode analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah data deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan terdiri dari lembar angket validasi ahli materi, lembar angket validasi ahli media dan lembar angket untuk subjek uji coba. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat dari angket validasi ahli materi dan ahli media, diketahui media pembelajaran Hànyǔ Shùzì valid dari segi materi maupun media, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran ini layak untuk digunakan

Abstract

Penerjemahan puisi merupakan proses kompleks yang melibatkan transfer makna dan budaya dari bahasa sumber ke bahasa sasaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis aspek budaya yang memengaruhi pergeseran makna dalam terjemahan antologi puisi Hujan Bulan Juni karya Sapardi Djoko Damono oleh TF Chan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik baca dan catat serta analisis isi. Sumber data adalah lima puisi dalam antologi tersebut yang bertema hujan, baik versi asli maupun versi terjemahan dalam bahasa Mandarin. Fokus analisis diarahkan pada kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat yang mengalami pergeseran makna akibat perbedaan budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dua jenis pergeseran makna, yaitu pergeseran dari generik ke spesifik dan pergeseran karena pengaruh budaya spesifik. Pergeseran dari generik ke spesifik terjadi karena banyaknya sinonim dalam bahasa sasaran, penguatan makna, serta perbedaan gaya penulisan. Sementara itu, pergeseran makna karena pengaruh budaya dipengaruhi oleh idiom khas Tiongkok, penggunaan partikel yang hanya ada dalam bahasa Mandarin, perbedaan struktur kalimat, serta konteks budaya yang berbeda antara bahasa sumber dan bahasa sasaran. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa budaya memainkan peran penting dalam penerjemahan puisi. Oleh karena itu, pemahaman mendalam terhadap budaya kedua bahasa sangat diperlukan untuk menghindari pergeseran makna yang tidak diinginkan. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi bagi penerjemah dan peneliti dalam memahami pentingnya aspek budaya dalam proses penerjemahan karya sastra.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of implementing HSK 4 Preparation teaching materials 汉语水平考试 [Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Jǎoshì sì jí], and students' responses to the implementation of HSK 4 Preparation teaching materials [Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Jǎoshì sì jí]. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The results of this study are that the process of implementing HSK 4 Preparation teaching materials ran smoothly, the classroom situation was very conducive and students were enthusiastic and eager to learn using HSK 4 Preparation digital teaching materials. Based on questionnaires and interviews, the implementation of HSK 4 Preparation digital teaching materials had a positive impact on students. Most students think that HSK 4 Preparation digital teaching materials make it easier for students to master HSK 4 vocabulary, increase motivation to learn HSK 4 vocabulary, the teaching materials are easy to access, and can be used for independent learning.
