Abstract

This study aims to discover what digitalization offers to promote students' learning in ESP classrooms and the contributions of lecturer digital competency to student learning.  This study employed a systematic literature review with SALSA (Search, Appraisal, Systhesis, and Analysis) procedure and analyzed 15 article journals from Sinta and Scopus indexed journals to ensure credibility.  The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and categories related to digitalization in ESP learning. The findings suggest that digitalization in ESP classes offers several benefits for student learning including learning content accessibility, assignment efficiency, flexibility, engagement, interaction, motivation, academic skills, and performance improvement, and promoting some of the 21st-century skills. Lecturers’ digital competence is also trusted to contribute to students’ learning, covering instructional effectiveness, engagement, interaction, assessment, and motivation. To summarize this study, developing a supporting digital environment for higher education learning is strongly recommended by selecting appropriate digital tools, properly infusing the tools into the curriculum and learning with the caveat that all parties involved be adequately trained, and considering students' long-term engagement in the digital environment. Technology-related issues, such as bandwidth and student technological fatigue, deserve to be addressed.

Abstract

West Java is renowned for its rich culinary heritage, which significantly contributes to the creative economy and offers potential for gastronomic tourism. This research focuses on the culinary traditions at the Garut kabuyutan site, examining aspects such as the position, types, processing, consumption timing, serving methods, utensils, and etiquette during traditional events. The study employs descriptive methods, utilizing observation, documentation, and interviews, and analyzes the data through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Culinary offerings at these events are grouped into three categories, with 562 types identified across 20 categories in 12 curated Garut kabuyutan. Food is typically served at the center of the event space, using traditional containers and banana leaves. Preparations often begin at least a month in advance, and meals are usually served between noon and sunset. Traditional utensils remain the preferred choice. Etiquette is emphasized, including neat and attractive packaging, proper display, the recitation of prayers, specific seating arrangements, and a defined order for who eats first. These practices highlight the cultural significance and communal values embedded in West Java’s culinary traditions, supporting both cultural preservation and economic development through gastronomy

Abstract

Although Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) has been increasingly implemented in Indonesian higher education, there is a need for a comprehensive understanding of its impact and effectiveness in university settings, highlighting the need for a systematic review to identify areas for improvement and inform recommendations for better practices. The present research aims to portray the effect of the implementation of CLIL on students' learning at the university level, as well as practical recommendations for CLIL learning in the future. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted to investigate CLIL implementation at the university level, covering both its impact on students' learning and future practical applications. This study reviewed 10 journal articles using the DISCAR design, sourced from the Sinta database and published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that CLIL applied at the university level mostly affects students’ learning in the aspects of comprehension, learning motivation, 21st century skills, and collaborative work. Based on these findings, the study highlights recommendations for CLIL implementation, including developing balanced CLIL curricula and strengthening lecturers’ professional competence. Integrating CLIL into university learning is strongly recommended to equip students with balanced language competence, subject knowledge, and 21st-century skills, aligning with Indonesia's outcome-based education policy.

Abstract

The role of social media on the Internet is undisputable nowadays; therefore, all kinds of industries use them to promote their products, including wedding organizers. This research, therefore, aims to examine the effect of Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) on Instagram toward the interest in purchasing wedding services at “We Are The Organizers” Manado. Inferential quantitative methods are used through data collected by documentation and questionnaires. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the effect of E-WOM dimensions: Intensity, Valence of Opinion, and Content towards the interest in purchasing the wedding service. The t-test results show that intensity and valence of opinion have a significant positive effect on the interest to purchase, while content does not have a significant effect on the interest to purchase the wedding service at “We Are The Organizer” Manado. The F test shows that these three variables simultaneously have a positive effect on buying interest with a significance value of 0.000. Therefore, it is recommended that “We Are The Organizers” present more detailed information about wedding packages through Instagram social media, as well as provide a direct link to the company's official website to make it easier for potential consumers to access additional information and updates regarding wedding services.

Abstract

Acquiring professional skills in the ESP class is key to a successful future career. Unfortunately, many students find difficulties in balancing the need for theoretical and practical skills, including the marketing skills for management students. OBE is trusted to provide solutions to balance the students’ intake and practical activities, including marketing skills. This present research aims to shed light on the students’ perceptions of OBE-based ESP courses implemented for marketing skills. A survey method was employed, involving 68 students from the management study program at one private university in Garut, West Java. The results indicated students’ positive perception regarding lecturer support and interaction, active participation in learning, social and critical skills development, assessment and transparency, effectiveness of methods and clarity of learning objectives, planning and motivation for self-study, and learning facilities and resources. However, some areas need to be improved, including discussions or interaction with lecturers, student internal motivation, and accommodating facilities. It is recommended that lecturers and university management work together on these matters to boost students’ potential by developing strategic instructional plans, adequate facilities, an interactive learning environment, and accommodating students’ need for self-study.
