Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in agricultural products. Abundant agricultural products are accompanied by a large amount of agricultural waste from by-products that can be processed and used as animal feed. This service activity was carried out in the Tajinan District, Malang Regency, from June to August 2023 to provide farmers with silage technology solutions, such as sheep feed based on fruit waste as a bio starter. The method used is the socialization of activities to breeders regarding the problems partners face, direct counseling, and assistance. The counseling is related to fruit waste, which can be used as a bio starter in making silage, introduction to several types of plants and agricultural waste, which can be used as silage material for sheep feed, and training in making bio starter and silage. The fruit waste used in this service is pineapple and banana, which are no longer suitable for consumption. The results of this activity show that breeders are enthusiastic and proactive in participating in extension activities. This program positively impacts the partner environment, namely providing solutions and alternative solutions to problems faced by breeders. Farmers can make silage as sheep feed during the dry season. This service program has received a good response from farmer group partners, and they intend to apply it to their livestock business, which was not previously carried out.ABSTRAKIndonesia merupakan Negara agraris yang kaya akan hasil pertanian. Hasil pertanian yang melimpah diikuti dengan banyaknya limbah pertanian dari hasil samping dapat diolah dan dijadikan sebagai pakan ternak. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Tajinan Kabupaten Malang pada bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2023 dengan tujuan untuk memberikan solusi pada peternak terkait pengunaan teknologi silase sebagai pakan ternak domba berbasis limbah buah-buahan sebagai bio starter.  Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi kegiatan kepada peternak terkait permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra, penyuluhan serta pendampingan secara langsung. Penyuluhan yang diberikan terkait tentang limbah buah-buahan yang dapat digunakan sebagai bio starter pada pembuatan silase, pengenalan beberapa jenis tanaman dan limbah pertanian yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan silase untuk pakan ternak domba, pelatihan pembuatan bio starter dan silase.  Limbah buah-buahan yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah buah nanas dan pisang yang sudah tidak layak konsumsi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa peternak antusias dan proaktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan. Dengan adanya program ini memberikan dampak yang positif di lingkungan mitra yaitu memberikan solusi dan alternative pemecahan masalah yang dihadapi oleh peternak. Peternak dapat membuat silase sebagai pakan ternak domba disaat musim kemarau. Program pengabdian ini mendapatkan respon yang baik dari mitra kelompok peternak dan berniat untuk mengaplikasikannya pada usaha peternakan mereka yang sebelumnya tidak dilakukan.

Abstract

Dairy cow's milk is a primary commodity in various countries and increasing milk production in dairy cows is crucial. Clitoria ternatea has the potential to enhance milk production in dairy cows. This research aims to analyze C. ternatea's ability to induce milk production in dairy cows by targeting the DRD2 protein. The compounds within C. ternatea were screened for drug-likeness, toxicity, physicochemical properties, and membrane permeability parameters. The DRD2 protein in dairy cattle was modeled using homology modeling. The interaction stability between C. ternatea compounds and DRD2 was analyzed through molecular docking and dynamic using AutoDock Vina and Webgro. The study results revealed that among the 18 compounds, 5 passed the drug-likeness screening: citronellal, alpha-terpinolene, 15-methyxypaysine, allyl-crotyl-zinc, and 9,12-octadecadiynoic. These 5 compounds exhibited low toxicity and demonstrated easy penetration of lipid membranes. Molecular docking results indicated that citronellal and alpha-terpinolene had the lowest binding energy values and were bound to the inhibitor's side. Molecular dynamic simulations also confirmed the stability of the interaction between citronellal and alpha-terpinolene with DRD2. In conclusion, this research suggests that C. ternatea can potentially increase milk production in dairy cows by inhibiting the DRD2 protein, primarily through citronellal and alpha-terpinolene.

Abstract

Silase merupakan salah satu teknologi dalam pengolahan pakan ternak dengan tujuan untuk mengawetkan pakan dan menambah nutrisi didalam pakan. Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan di Desa Gondowangi Kecamatan Wagir Kabupaten Malang Jawa Timur. Metode yang dilakukan mulai observasi, wawancara, penyuluhan, pelatihan, praktik pembuatan silase. Mitra dalam pengabdian ini adalah peternak kambing dan domba yang berjumlah 15 orang. Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan dimulai pada 4 Agustus 2023 sampai 12 Oktober 2023. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah memperolah ilmu mengenai teknologi pengolahan pakan silase dan produk silase sebagai pakan ternak kambing atau domba. Kegiatan ini telah berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan kepada peternak dalam meningkatkan kualitas pakan ternak baik berupa teori dan praktik. Hasil dari kegiatan ini memberikan edukasi kepada mitra mengenai pembuatan silase yang telah berjalan dengan baik dan lancar serta antusias tinggi mitra selama kegiatan pengabdian ini berlangsung.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the direct and indirect effect of cooperative partnerships,farmer participation and cooperative performance on farmer’s income. This research method was carried outby distributing questionnaires to 164 farmers as research respondents in Kemiri village who were activemembers of the Agroniaga Cooperative Jabung. The research variables were X1 (cooperative partnership), X2(farmers participation), Y1 (cooperative performance), Y2 (farmer's income). The data obtained were analyzedby path analysis using SPSS. The results show that 1) cooperative partnerships have a significant effect directlyon the cooperative performance at 0.533, 2) farmer participation has a significant effect directly on thecooperative performance at 0.362, 3) the cooperative partnership has a significant effect directly on the incomeof farmers at 0.341, 4) farmer participation has a significant effect directly on the income of farmers at 0.426, 5)cooperative performance has a significant effect directly on the income of farmers at 0.180, 6) cooperativepartnership has no significant effect indirectly on the income of farmers through the cooperative performanceat 0.096, 7) farmer participation has no significant effect indirectly on farmer income through cooperativeperformance at 0.18. This study concludes that 1) cooperative partnerships and farmer participation havesignificant effect directly on the cooperative performance, 2) cooperative partnerships, farmer participation,and cooperative performance have a significant effect directly on farmers' incomes, 3) cooperative partnershipsand farmer participation have no significant effect indirectly on farmer income through cooperativeperformance.

Abstract

Penyuluhan dan pendampingan terhadap peternak di Desa Bangelan, Kecamatan Wonosari, Kabupaten Malang, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peternak mengenai legalitas usaha serta pentingnya legalitas usaha dalam mendukung pengembangan pertanian berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini meliputi penyuluhan tentang perizinan usaha peternakan, pendampingan proses pengajuan izin usaha, dan penerapan praktik peternakan yang ramah lingkungan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran peternak tentang pentingnya legalitas usaha, serta kemudahan dalam akses pasar dan permodalan yang diperoleh setelah memiliki izin usaha. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam menciptakan peternakan yang lebih terorganisir dan mendukung pembangunan pertanian berkelanjutan di desa tersebut.

Abstract

Rabbit meat has a good nutritional content for the body. Rabbit meat can be processed into various food products such as rabbit satay, rabbit meatballs, rabbit nuggets, etc. The use of rabbit meat as the main ingredient for making Rabbit Meatballs is one of the innovations in processing processed livestock products. Processing rabbit meat into rabbit meatballs will add to the selling value of rabbit meat. This service aims to provide training in making rabbit meatballs to farmers as a forum to increase entrepreneurial spirit. The method used was to provide material to farmers and discussions, then continued with the practice of training in making meatballs using rabbit meat. The results of this service were responded to very well and enthusiastically by farmers. Based on this service activity, it can be concluded that the farmers accept well the knowledge given, and are able to practice the theory given to make meatballs to.     Daging kelinci memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang baik untuk tubuh. Daging kelinci bisa diolah menjadi aneka produk makanan seperti sate kelinci, bakso kelinci, nugget kelinci, dll. Pemanfaatan daging kelinci sebagai bahan utama pembuatan Bakso Kelinci merupakan salah satu inovasi pengolahan produk olahan hasil ternak. Pengolahan daging kelinci menjadi bakso kelinci akan menambah nilai jual daging kelinci. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan bakso kelinci kepada ibu – ibu peternak sebagai wadah untuk meningkatkan semangat berwirausaha. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemberian materi kepada ibu – ibu peternak dan diskusi, kemudian dilanjutkan praktik pelatihan pembuatan bakso menggunakan daging kelinci. Hasil pengabdian ini direspon sangat baik dan antusias oleh ibu – ibu peternak. Berdasarkan kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ibu – ibu peternak menerima dengan baik ilmu yang diberikan, dan mampu mempraktikan teori yang diberikan untuk membuat bakso kelinci.

Abstract

Abstract. Livestock productivity is influenced by three factors namely breed, feed and management. Animal feed costs on average reach 70% of production costs, so feed management must be done as well as possible. A common problem faced by farmers in Indonesia is limited land for planting forage, so an alternative is needed to fulfill forage by minimizing land use, namely one way with a hydroponic system. In recent years there has been increasing interest in using short growing duration feed cultivation technology known as fodder. Based on this, the purpose of this study was to determine the utilization of bone meal waste as organic fertilizer on productivity fodder corn. The materials in this study included corn seeds, bone meal and water. The method used is a field experiment using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment in this study was the use of bone meal as organic fertilizer, where P0 (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%), and P3 (15%). Each treatment was repeated 4 times. The research variables included germination percentage, normal sprout percentage, fresh forage production, and dry matter production. The data obtained was analyzed using analysis of variance. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it was shown that the use of bone meal as organic fertilizer had a very significant (P<0.01) effect on germination percentage, normal sprout percentage, fresh forage production and dry matter production. Germination percentage, normal germination percentage, fresh forage production and dry matter production were highest in P2 treatment. The values of each variable in P2 are sequentially as follows: 97.75%, 91.35%, 709.60 grams and 140.93%. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the use of 10% cast flour as organic fertilizer gives the best value to the productivity of corn fodder hydroponically.
