Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of stock returns with dividend policy as a moderating variable in consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024. A quantitative approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with Smart PLS software. The sample consisted of 61 consumer goods companies selected through purposive sampling. The results indicate that net profit margin has no significant effect on stock returns, suggesting that profitability does not necessarily influence investor decisions in this sector. Inflation, however, shows a positive and significant effect on stock returns, highlighting that inflationary changes encourage investors to adjust their investment strategies. In contrast, the Bank Indonesia interest rate does not significantly affect stock returns, implying that interest rate fluctuations are not a primary factor for investors in consumer goods companies. Furthermore, the residual test demonstrates that dividend policy, measured by the dividend payout ratio, does not moderate the relationships between financial ratios, macroeconomic variables, and stock returns. These findings imply that dividend distribution alone does not guarantee investor interest, as investors tend to prioritize fundamental and long-term company performance over short-term payouts. The study contributes to the literature on stock return determinants by integrating firm level profitability and macroeconomic conditions with dividend policy as a moderating factor. It also provides practical insights for investors and managers, particularly regarding the limited role of dividend policy in influencing investment behavior in the Indonesian consumer goods sector.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMKs) play a strategic role in producing graduates who are competent, skilled, and prepared to meet the demands of the industrial workforce. One of the core programs designed to achieve this objective is the Industrial Internship Program (Praktik Kerja Industri/Prakerin), which enables students to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom to real workplace environments. However, selecting appropriate Business and Industrial Partners (Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri—DUDI) remains a challenging task due to the involvement of multiple evaluation criteria, including curriculum compatibility, industrial facilities, accessibility, accommodation costs, and partner reputation. At SMK Negeri 1 Barus Utara, the selection process is still conducted manually, making it susceptible to subjectivity and inconsistency. This study proposes a Decision Support System (DSS) employing the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to objectively rank potential DUDI partners based on predefined evaluation criteria and their corresponding weights. The research adopts a quantitative approach within the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) framework. Five assessment criteria were established through interviews with internship coordinators, and five DUDI partners were evaluated as alternatives. The findings indicate that PT Sibolga Citra Komputindo achieved the highest preference score (0.7700), making it the most suitable internship partner. The implementation of the SAW method demonstrates its effectiveness in producing objective, transparent, and measurable recommendations, thereby improving the quality of internship management and supporting informed decision-making in vocational education.

Abstract

The rapid growth of coffee shop businesses in Medan City reflects changes in consumer lifestyles and increasing demand for locally produced coffee. As an integral part of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), coffee shops contribute significantly to regional economic development and employment generation. This study aims to examine the influence of cultural aspects and marketing aspects on the business feasibility of Warkop Lampoeh Kuphi in Medan City. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method involving 100 respondents selected through accidental sampling. Primary data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), including validity, reliability, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The findings indicate that cultural aspects have a positive and significant effect on business feasibility by strengthening local identity, customer loyalty, and social interaction. Furthermore, marketing aspects significantly enhance business feasibility through competitive pricing, product quality, excellent service, and effective word-of-mouth promotion. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence business feasibility, suggesting that integrating local culture with effective marketing strategies enhances the sustainability and competitiveness of MSMEs.
