Abstract

Elementary school children have the potential to develop positively with the support of their social environment. The more positive experiences presented in a child's daily life, the more likely they are to grow into well-adjusted individuals. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Program Tetirah Bimasakti in reducing challenging behaviors in elementary school children. This study utilized a quasi-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design. Participants included six children enrolled in the Program Tetirah Bimasakti, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument employed was the Indonesian version of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) for children. Data analysis was conducted using the paired sample t-test. The results indicated a decrease in the participants' difficulty scores; however, there was no significant change in their prosocial scores. This suggests that while the Program Tetirah Bimasakti was effective in reducing difficult behaviors, it was insufficient for fostering prosocial behavior. Consequently, this study implies that relevant institutions should develop structured modules for activity programs that can be tailored to specific and targeted competencies.

Abstract

Sebagian besar atlet cenderung fokus mempersiapkan kemampuan fisik sebelum pertandingan, dan mengabaikan persiapan psikologis. Sementara itu, faktor psikologis memiliki peranan dalam pencapaian prestasi atlet. Beberapa faktor psikologis tersebut ialah kecemasan bertanding dan ketangguhan mental. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketangguhan mental terhadap kecemasan bertanding pada atlet remaja. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif non eksperimen jenis korelasional dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian adalah 239 atlet olahraga yang berusia remaja (15-18 tahun), dan sudah pernah bertanding dalam kejuaraan olahraga minimal tingkat provinsi. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan Mental Toughnes Quisionaire (MTQ) dan Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 (CSAI-2). Analisa data menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil menunjukkan ketangguhan mental yang tinggi dapat memprediksi penurunan kecemasan bertanding. Sumbangan efektif ketangguhan mental terhadap kecemasan bertanding sebesar 52,7% pada atlet remaja (β=-0.726; p<0,001). Artinya, ketangguhan mental yang tinggi akan menurunkan kecemasan bertanding atlet. Sehingga, atlet dapat mengurangi kecemasan bertanding mereka dengan cara melakukan peningkatan ketangguhan mentalnya.

Abstract

The prevalence of suicide among students has increased year by year. Various factors, including the quality of friendships and stress levels, influenced this condition. The study aims to determine the role of stress levels in mediating the influence of friendship quality on suicidal ideation. The approach used a correlational quantitative design. The research respondents were active students aged between 18 and 25 years, were currently abroad, had close friends, and had ever thought about committing suicide, totalling 174 people obtained through purposive sampling techniques. The measuring instruments used were an adaptation of the McGrill Friendship Questionnaire-Friend's Function (MFQ-FF), Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSS), and Perceived Stress Scale-10 items (PSS-10). Data analysis used Mediated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results showed that there was no influence of friendship quality on suicidal ideation, which was mediated by stress level. Additionally, it is also known that the quality of friends has a negative influence on stress levels. This means that stress levels are not mediators and do not influence suicidal ideation. The quality of friendship also does not influence suicidal ideation. However, good-quality friendships can help reduce stress levels.

Abstract

Karyawan puskesmas perlu untuk bertumbuh agar bisa memberikan performa kerja yang baik. Salah satu cara untuk bertumbuh adalah dengan memiliki psychological capital. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah psychological capital memiliki pengaruh terhadap flourishing pada karyawan puskesmas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif non-eksperimen dengan menggunakan metode korelasional. Jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 147 karyawan yang bekerja pada salah satu puskesmas yang ada di Kabupaten Bima. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling untuk menentukan jumlah subjek. Skala yang digunakan adalah Compound Psychological Capital Scale-Revision (CPC-12R) dan Flourishing Scale (FS). Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linier. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa psychological capital memiliki pengaruh terhadap flourishing pada karyawan puskesmas. Sementara, untuk hasil analisis setiap dimensi psychological capital menunjukkan hanya dimensi harapan, efikasi diri, dan resiliensi yang mempengaruhi flourishing. Namun, dimensi optimisme tidak berpengaruh terhadap flourishing.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period characterised by teenagers’ feelings that problems in life are much more complicated than the periods that come before (childhood) or after it (adulthood). This is the case particularly because adolescence lasts quickly and many changes occur during the period. One of the prevalent disorders commonly experienced by adolescents is generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). We assumed in the present research that fear of negative evaluation (FNE) may influence the GAD. Building upon this assumption, the goal of this research was to examine the extent to which FNE explains GAD. Participants were 475 students from 9 high schools in Malang, who were recruited based on probability or random sampling. The data were then analysed quantitatively using simple linear regression. The results showed that FNE was a significant positive predictor of GAD, implying that the high levels of FNE were related to high levels of GAD, and, vice versa, low levels of FNE were related to low levels of GAD. Masa remaja adalah masa dimana setiap problematika hidup terasa lebih berat daripada masa-masa sebelum (kanak-kanak) atau setelahnya (dewasa). Hal ini dikarenakan masa remaja berlangsung dengan cepat dan ditandai dengan banyak perubahan. Salah satu gangguan yang prevalensinya cukup tinggi yang dialami oleh remaja adalah generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Peneliti mengasumsikan bahwa fear of negative evaluation (FNE) dapat mempengaruhi GAD tersebut. Mengacu pada asumsi ini, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji sejauh mana FNE dapat mempengaruhi GAD. Subjek penelitian adalah 475 siswa dan siswi dari 8 SMA di Kota Malang, yang direkrut atas dasar probability sampling.  Data kemudian dianalisis secara kuantitatif menggunakan regresi linear sederhana (simple linear regression). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa FNE menjadi prediktor positif yang signifikan dalam menjelaskan GAD.  Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi FNE maka akan semakin tinggi juga GAD, begitupun sebaliknya jika semakin rendah FNE maka akan semakin rendah juga GAD.

Abstract

Emerging adulthood mengalami peningkatan psychological distress dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Emerging adulthood membutuhkan personal growth initiative sebagai mekanisme perlindungan untuk terhindar dari psychological distress. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh personal growth initiative terhadap psychological distress pada emerging adulthood. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional dengan subjek sebanyak 272 emerging adulthood berusia 18-25 tahun yang dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik quota sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Personal Growth Initiative Scale-II (PGIS-II) dan General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12). Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif yang signifikan antara personal growth initiative dan psychological distress dengan nilai signifikasi <0,001. Dengan demikian, semakin tinggi personal growth initiative maka akan semakin rendah psychological distress pada emerging adulthood, begitupun sebaliknya.

Abstract

A flourishing employee tends to have confidence in establishing broad and fulfilling social relationships. This capability is called flourishing, which is essential in the professional world. Several factors influence an individual’s capacity to flourish, including personality traits and the work environment. The primary objective of this study is to examine differences in flourishing across various work environments while controlling for the Big Five personality traits. This research adopts a quantitative comparative approach. The total number of participants in this study was 363 respondents, comprising 102 employees from State-Owned Enterprises, 113 employees from private companies, and 148 Civil Servants. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. The study utilizes the Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) and the Flourishing Scale (FS) as measurement instruments. Data analysis is conducted using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The findings reveal that civil servants exhibit the highest level of flourishing compared to employees in SOEs and private companies when controlling for the Big Five personality traits. Furthermore, the results indicate that only the personality traits of extraversion and agreeableness significantly impact flourishing, whereas conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness to experience do not exert a significant influence. Consequently, a work environment that ensures career stability is crucial in enhancing employees’ flourishing, regardless of their personality traits.
