Abstract

This article examines the Life of Javanese Communities in Jorong Purwajaya, Regency of 50 Cities in 1964-2017. Describes how the struggles of the transmigrants to establish Jorong Purwajaya and how the social and cultural life of the Javanese people who live together in one location with different ethnicities. This research method is qualitative. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. Interviewing the oldest in Purwajaya and the Purwajaya community. Using in depth interview techniques in-depth interviews with interview guidelines. The results showed that the history of Jorong Purwajaya establishment from the transmigration process of Halaban tea plantation workers who lost their jobs and home due to the PRRI rebellion in 1958. Jorong Purwajaya being a transmigration location for Javanese people in Payakumbuh influenced the concentration of Javanese communities in one location causing Jorong Purwajaya synonymous with Javanese culture, although Purwajaya is not only inhabited by Javanese but there are also Minangkabau and Batak ethnicities. The dominance of the Javanese culture to be dominant in Purwajaya over other ethnic groups living in the same location.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan potensi biografi atau autobiografi tokoh lokal dalam mata kuliah sejarah Indonesia Baru III, dan menganalisis kemampuan mahasiswa sejarah dalam pendalaman materi organisasi pergerakan kebangsaan 1908-1935 dengan pendekatan tokoh. Penelitian ini bersifat naturalistik inkuiri dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data diperoleh melalui observasi terhadap aktivitas belajar, wawancara tentang pengalaman belajar, dokumen aktivitas dan tugas-tugas terstuktur yang dikerjakan mahasiswa selama 10 kali pertemuan. Data diperoleh dari mahasiwa yang mengambil mata kuliah sejarah Indonesia baru III di departemen sejarah Universitas Negeri Padang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki pengalaman membaca dan mengolah informasi sejarah dari sumber berupa biografi dan autobiografi, kemudian mereka dapat menjelaskan dengan baik latar belakang serta kiprah organisasi pergerakan dari sudut pandang tokoh yang menjadi kekuatan serta ruh dari organisi seperti sarekat islam, perhimpunan Indonesia, PNI, PNI baru dan muhammadiyah. Sehingga model PjBL membuat proses pembelajaran dalam kelas pergerakan kebangsaan Indonesia lebih terencana, terkontrol dan berbasis luaran, yakni naskah tulisan yang layak dipublikasikan menjadi langkah baru dalam upaya peningkatan jumlah publikasi mahasiswa.

Abstract

Tiong Hwa Hwe Koan (THHK) adalah organisasi Tionghoa modern yang didirikan pada tahun 1900 oleh Phoa Keng Hek dan Lie Kim Hok di Batavia. Organisasi ini berfungsi sebagai organisasi pendidikan dan penyebar nasionalisme di Tiongkok karena minimnya fasilitas pendidikan bagi etnis Tionghoa. THHK ada hampir di seluruh Hindia Belanda. Salah satunya THHK Padang. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana proses kemunculannya, apa yang menjadi bagian dari gerakan nasionalis Tionghoa, dan pembentukan identitasnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah melalui langkah-langkah heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan penjelasan. Studi pustaka diperoleh dari arsip, jurnal, dan buku yang relevan. Bagaimana proses pendirian THHK dengan misi Pendidikan, budaya dan kegiatan sosial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa THHK memiliki banyak peran di Padang, seperti pendidikan dan kegiatan sosial. Di bidang pendidikan, THHK memberikan pendidikan “kebudayaan” dan ilmu-ilmu lainnya. Di bidang sosial memberikan bantuan untuk bencana alam, mengadakan pertemuan untuk merayakan rasa kebersamaan. persatuan dan nasionalisme terhadap Tiongkok dan sesama etnis Tionghoa. Partisipasi ini tidak hanya di antara pengurus tetapi juga didukung oleh organisasi Tionghoa lainnya dan seluruh masyarakat Tionghoa.

Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses Nagari Saribu Rumah Gadang as a tourist area in South Solok for 2008-2021. The writing of this article uses the historical method through the stages of: heuristics, verification/criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study indicate that the name Saribu Gadang House was given when Mrs. Meutia Hatta Swasono, State Minister for Women's Empowerment came to visit Koto Baru in 2008. Seeing this as a very step and unique thing because there were many gadang houses close to each other, Mrs. Moetia Hatta gave the nickname Nagari Koto Baru as Saribu Rumah Gadang. Since being given this nickname, the name Saribu Rumah Gadang has become more popular and known by many people. After the development in Nagari Saribu, the Gadang House became a tourist area in South Solok, this caused a change in function, the Gadang House, which was originally a cultural heritage, turned into an object of business facilities. Among them are homestays, various culinary delights, crafts, and the provision of public services and cultural exposure, so that they have an impact on the progress of social, cultural, economic and educational life of the community in Nagari Koto Baru.Keywords: Change, Rumah Gadang Area, Tourism Area.

Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the Preservation of Alek Simarajo Lelo in the Cupak Community: From Traditional Ceremonies to Art Performances in 1984-2015. This research is historical research through the stages of heuristics, verification/criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Sources were obtained through informants in Nagari Cupak, Penghulu Empat Jinih, Wali's Office staff, witness Alek Simarajo Lelo from the local community. Meanwhile, secondary sources were obtained through literature studies to obtain sources in the form of books and journals, document studies in the form of photographs of Alek Simarajo Lelo, as well as field studies by means of interviews and observations. This article shows that the results of this study indicate that the Preservation of Alek Simarajo Lelo in the Cupak Community: From Traditional Ceremonies to Art Performances in 1984-2005 underwent a change in the implementation in the form of performing arts in the form of alek rows and costumes. 1) The clothes of the Kudo Baganto line up are at the front, which are worn by young children who are not wearing the traditional black clothes of the ninik mamak. 2) rows of patiak sanggua playing talempong and modern musical instruments pupuik. 3) rows of parents and bundo kanduang maanta nasi (parents) not wearing basiba-cut black brackets. Abstract

This article discusses the changes and distribution of Chinese settlements in Padang before and after 1945. This article aims to explain the process of change and distribution of Chinese settlements and identify the underlying factors. This article uses a historical approach by utilizing document and oral data by conducting FGDs. A field survey was conducted with a high-resolution satellite and processed with Geographical Information System (GIS). This article concludes; (1) During Dutch East Indies Government, the Chinese did not strictly isolated,  their settlement was found outside of the Chinese camp; (2) The distribution of Chinese settlements became more intense through expansion of the city and the development of settlements since the 1980s. (3) The 2009 Padang earthquake had a significant impact on the changes and distribution of Chinese settlements; (4) Currently, Chinese settlements are scattered in almost all city areas in form of lot and cluster housing with various types.

Abstract

Pendampingan dimaksud sebagai proses perubahan kreatif yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat sebagai bentuk proses inisiatif dan bentuk tindakan untuk menjadi lebih baik. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi proses revitalisasi makam tokoh tionghoa melalui kegiatan eksplorasi potensi Sejarah untuk tujuan pengembangan sebagai objek wisata sejarah, budaya dan spiritual kota tua Padang. Tokoh tionghoa Siauw Beng Tjoan merupakan salah satu tokoh pendiri dan komisaris organisasi pada organisasi Tiong Hoa Hwe Koan Padang di awal abad ke-20. Kebesaran tokoh ini semasa hidup terlihat dari makam yang dibuat dengan bong pay kuburan dan fasilitas makam yang cukup lengkap dan luas.  Lokasi makam yang berada di pinggir jalan di seberang sungai Batang Arau menyuguhkan pemandangan kota, berpatokan kepada fengshui dan menghadap sungai. Saat ini makam berada di bawah pengelolaan Himpunan Bersatu Teguh (HBT) Padang dan sedang direvitalisasi sebagai salah satu warisan cagar budaya di kawasan Kota Tua Padang. Revitalisasi makam ini menjadi langkah awal untuk upaya serupa bagi makam tokoh-tokoh Tionghoa lainnya yang tersebar di sekitar kawasan pegunungan di kota tua padang dan dalam proses pengembangan sebagai destinasi wisata sejarah dan budaya spiritual.

Abstract

The development of historical thinking skills, one must analyze historical event evidence. A thorough, reliable, and trustworthy grasp of history will be created through a variety of historical sources. In order to construct historical narratives, one has to be able to find, recognize, evaluate, interpret, and generalize information from primary source material. In order to fully fulfill this potential, educators must create effective ways. Due to this, the purpose of this study is to (1) explain the value of using original sources to support historical understanding and (2) find ways to use Virtual Field Trip media to help students use primary sources to support their historical learning. A literature review is employed to obtain the answers to the stated research questions. Literature reviews that were pertinent to the issue under study were used to gather research data. The interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman for data analysis included data gathering, data reduction, data display, and conclusion-making. The study's major results point out that (1) using primary source evidence effectively is crucial for developing historical understanding and (2) using virtual field trip media effectively helps students develop higher-order thinking skills, including the ability to use primary sources effectively. According to the conclusions, this article advises teachers to employ learning resources that provide students with hands-on experience.

Abstract

Nagari Toboh Ketek, Enam Lingkung Sub-district, Padang Pariaman Regency is one of the Nagari appointed by the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia as the implementer of the Women's Friendly and Child Care Village (DRPPA) 2022 Nagari pilot project as a village implementing DRPPA, Nagari Toboh Ketek needs assistance from Universities. However, Nagari Toboh Ketek has not implemented Gender Mainstreaming (PUG) and Children's Rights Mainstreaming (PUHA) because it has not prepared a gender-responsive development plan and budgeting for Nagari (PUG/PPRG). So the Nagari does not yet have gender-responsive policies, programs, or budgeting. Universities provide this assistance with the Center for Gender and Development Research as the leading sector. Year 1 DRPPA mentoring activities have successfully carried out outreach activities, training, and workshops as well as assistance in preparing Nagari policies, programs, and activities related to DRPPA. Thus, Nagari already has several supporting programs in developing DRPPA. In the second year, the next activities are 1) Assistance in compiling Nagari data in a disaggregated manner based on gender (Nagari gender profile based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) data); 2) Workshop on strengthening the capacity of Nagari government officials in gender-responsive planning and budgeting of the Nagari APB; and 3) Facilitation of educational information communication media in strengthening Nagari DRPPA.

Abstract

This research discusses the characteristics and efforts to preserve Dikia Rabano Art in Nagari Koto Rajo, Pasaman Regency, 1987-2022. This research aims to analyze the steps that have been taken to maintain the continuity of Dikia Rabano in Nagari Koto Rajo, Pasaman Regency. Using four techniques in historical research, namely heuristics, is the first step in searching for historical sources, followed by sources criticism, interpretation and historiography. This research was motivated by the lack of public interest in studying Dikia Rabano resulting in various conservation efforts carried out by the community and full support from the government. The result of this research show that the characteristics of Dikia Rabano in Nagari Koto Rajo are always performed in traditional processions  such as weddings, naming children and thanksgiving for the hajj. Efforts to preserve Dikia Rabano were carried out throught several forms of efforts, namely protection, development and utilization, starting from  1987 to 2022. At the protection stage, there were active efforts from the community and government to maintain and protect Dikia Rabano, the next stage, namely development, at this stage was supported by several steps conservation efforts such as maintenance, training and display. Finally, Dikia Rabano’s art contains many useful educational values that can increase insight and knowledge. So it can be concluded that Dikia Rabano is still sustainable today thaks to conservation efforts carried out bg the community and government. Dikia Rabano managed to survive and thrive.
