Abstract

This research is about the contribution of each distribution channel towards room revenue in Melia Bali. The purpose of this research is to find out the contribution of hotel website, online travel agent, and offline travel agent towards room revenue at Melia Bali during 2015-2017. Data are collected in this research through interview, observation, and literature study. Data analysis method used is descriptive statistics. The result of the research shows that the biggest contribution of the distribution channel is offline travel agent. While the other distribution channels are having a fluctuations issue, where in year 2015 and 2016 the online travel agent distribution channels is higher than the hotel website. But in 2017, the hotel website has bigger contribution than online travel agents. The average contribution of hotel website towards room revenue in 2015-2017 is 17.03%. The distribution channel of online travel agent is 16.83% and the other five online travel agents that have the most contribution upon room revenue of Melia Bali in 2015-2017 are booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, Hotelbeds, and Orbitz. Contribution on distribution channel of offline travel agent is 66.15% and the five offline travel agents that have the most contribution towards room revenue of Melia Bali in 2015-2017 are Flight Center, TUI Deutschland, Meier's Weltreisen, TMS Tours, and HIS Bali Tours and Travel.

Abstract

This study discusses strategies in increasing revenue at Grand Inna Kuta with marketing mix. The purpose of this study was to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the marketing strategies adopted by Grand Inna Kuta. The number of respondents used was 16 respondents, with a purposive sampling data collection technique. The method of primary data collection with a focus group discussion (FGD) method by involving several people from sales and marketing at Grand Inna Kuta. The analysis technique used is the SWOT analysis technique (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats). The results showed that 7 internal indicators that become strengths, and 4 internal indicators that become weaknesses. On the other hand, there are 3 external indicators that are opportunities, and there are 3 external indicators that threats. In the SWOT matrix analysis technique, there are 2 strategies were obtained to maximize strength and opportunity there are intensify the promotion to government market, and intensify the room packages based on the current season. Two strategies to maximize strengths to minimize threats which are adjust the room price to make it lower, and focus on the current target market. Two strategies to maximize opportunities by minimizing weaknesses which are rejuvenate or repair the room ambiance, and technology for paying method. Four strategies to minimize challenges and weaknesses contains of increase evaluating of the staff to work by giving rewards, train more about the skill quality for the staff, create support package, and make a promotion on airline.

Abstract

Kuta Village is located at Badung regency of Bali province. Its white-sandy beach, good wave and beautiful sunset have attracted tourists to come to Kuta repeatedly. This area is a tourist destination and has become a mainstay tourist attraction of the island of Bali since the early 1970s. Changes in business areas is dynamic and unpredictable. The aim of this study is to explore the form of zoning and carrying capacity of tourism business in Kuta beach area based on current situation and level of the tourism business from the perspective of zoning quality and carrying capacity. The population of this study are tourists and beach vendors in Kuta beach area. The number of population is not known with certainty so to determine the representation of the sample members, determined based on the technique of non-probability sampling that is a purposive sampling technique. Types of data used are quantitative and qualitative data. Data analysed with descriptive statistic and descriptive qualitative approach. The results of this research are 20 business zones and three carrying capacity forms that are relevant to sustainable tourism paradigm consisting of physical carrying capacity, economic carrying capacity and social carrying capacity

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the practice of selecting green suppliers conducted by companies to be environmentally friendly and how these practices have implications for purchasing green products in 5-star hotels in Bali. Research methods: This study is guided by the green supply chain management model and the green selection model. A descriptive research design is used. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The population consists of 63 employees from companies that supply room supplies, food & beverage, chemical, and Spa. Data were analyzed using SPSS and presented using tables, graphs, frequencies, and percentages. Results and discussions: The study revealed that the selection of environmentally friendly suppliers had a positive and significant effect on the implementation of environmentally friendly purchases. The implications of selecting green suppliers create new market opportunities. Hotel cooperation with suppliers is getting closer and mutually committed to operational purchasing activities. Conclusion: The study revealed that the selection of environmentally friendly suppliers had a positive and significant effect on the implementation of environmentally friendly purchases. The indication was that green supplier selection is a major factor that influences the implementation of green purchasing at 5 stars hotel in Bali.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the influence of service quality and customer satisfaction on repurchase intention at Inna Kuta Beach Hotel The 'number of sample is 185 tourists consisting of 142 foreign and 43 domestic tourists. The data were collected by applying a convenience sampling technique and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling using AMOS 4. 01 software. The result shows that service quality has no significant correlation on the repurchase intention, however, service quality has a significant and positive correlation on customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has a significant and positive correlation on repurchase intention and service quality has a positive correlation on repurchase intention indirectly through customer satisfaction which, in this case, functions as an intervening variable.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Purpose: The purpose of this research is to identify the suitable promotion strategy that can be implemented to increase room occupancy during the Covid-19 pandemic at Pramana Watu Kurung Resort Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Research methods: Data collection methods used are participation observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The questionnaire was distributed to 10 informants from the head of department who were determined by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis, SWOT analysis, Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS), External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS), Internal-External Matrix (IE), SWOT Matrix, and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) analysis. Findings: The internal factors with IFAS score 2,71 and external factors with EFAS score 2,05 can be known if the current position of promotion strategy in cell V, which is in the growth and stability with horizontal integration. SWOT analysis resulted in 8 alternative promotion strategies with a suitable promotion strategy that can be implemented to increase room occupancy during the Covid-19 pandemic is to collaborate with competitors with the highest TAS (Total Attractive Score) value, 144.67 that obtained from QSPM analysis. Implication: Pramana Watu Kurung Resort Ubud must do collaborate with competitors as a suitable promotion strategy to increase room occupancy. The collaboration aims to create profits through sharing the resources of each company to reduce costs and create new innovations. Keywords: promotion strategy, room occupancy, Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Training is an important thing carried out by companies that provide opportunities for employees to improve their skills related to work. The study, entitled "Enhancing Employee's Performance by Training Program at F&B Service the St. Regis Bali Resort” aims to find out how to improve the performance of F&B service employees through training programs at The St. Regis Bali Resort. Sample in this study amounted to 30 respondents. This study uses a sampling technique that is a saturated sample. Data collected using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis used is simple regression analysis technique. From the study result at a significant level of 5% show that the training program has a positive and huge impact on the performance of F&B service employees as proven by the beta coefficient (β) of 0.761. The training program can influence the performance of F&B service employees was (R2) 53.0%. Therefore, there will be an increment in the performance of F&B service employees by 0.761. With indicators of the training program, namely: type of training, training materials and time of implementation. Hotel management must maintain or develop training for increasing.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the documentation of green hotel practices implemented by The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Indonesia, based on the indicators developed by Earth Check known as 10 key performance areas for hotel-accommodation business. Methods of data collection used are by conducting interviews with key and supporting informants, observation techniques using participant observation, literature review, and document study. The data analysis method used is qualitative research through transcript data, data reduction, data displaying, and concluding. The result of this research shows that The Apurva Kempinski Bali has fulfilled the requirements of the certification and has applied the green hotel practices within the hotel area to support sustainable developments including energy efficiency, freshwater resources, waste-water management, solid waste management, ecosystem and conservation, land use planning, air quality protection, management of social and cultures, and harmful substances management. Some improvements need to be taken into account such as the renewable energy generation potential evaluation, shower, and taps low flow installation, and sustainable room amenities materials. It is a critical and important advantage for the hotel as well to attract more guests to stay, since the topic of sustainability nowadays has become famous which affecting the decision of guest to staying in the hotel. This paper is focusing on the documentation of green hotel practices that has been implemented by The Apurva Kempinski Bali in order to support sustainable development goals.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the application of green hotels to improve the service quality of front office staff at Mercure Bali Legian and to identify indicators that need to be improved and maintained in the service quality of front office staff at the hotel. Research methods: The sample selection is 65 respondents and three ants, and the sampling is done by incidental sampling technique. A questionnaire is distributed to respondents. The analyticamethodue used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis to determine the application of green hotels at Mercure Bali Legian and dynamic quantity analysis, namely imporimportance-performanceysis (IPA) yous, se d to classify service quality indicators that need to be improved and maintained into Cartesian diagram. Results and discussion: The application of green hotels has been maximally implemented by the front office staff at Mercure Bali Legian. The results of this study indicate that two indicators need to be improved in the quality of service, namely the indicator of handling guest complaints quickly and well and the indicator of staff providing information abouassistancees with environmentally friendly actions that are easy for guests to understand. Implication: There are five indicators that the front office staffs need to maintain the quality of service, namely the hotel lobby indicator is clean and smoke-free, supports the environmentally friendly concept during the check-in process by minimizing the use of paper, the staffs inform the hotel facilities including energy-saving facilities in the hotel, giving welcome drink using drinks from local products, and front office staffs providing information about the cashless program   Keywords: green hotel, front office, quality of service, importance-performance analysis.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the application of green practice in improving the service quality of the front office department at Mercure Bali Legian. Research methods: The data collection method was an observation, interviews, distributing questionnaires, and a literature study. The sampling technique was accidental sampling, with a total sample of 68 respondents and three informants. They collected data using online questionnaires distributed to respondents. Results and discussion: The application of green practice in improving the service quality of the front office department at Mercure Bali Legian has been maximally implemented, starting from the application of green action, green food, and green donation. Implication: The application of this green practice has a positive impact on improving the quality of service in the front office department, especially in helping work become more efficient and practical without using too many manual systems.   Keywords: Implementation, green practice, service quality, front office department, hotel.
