Abstract

This research explored the commuting mode preferences of students living near Institut Teknologi Bandung when a new mode of transportation (i.e., carpool) is introduced to the selection list. Six alternative modes were presented: minibus, car, motorcycle, car-based ride-sourcing, motorcycle-based ride-sourcing, and carpool. The data collection process was conducted using a questionnaire-based stated-preferences survey. It included eight sets of labeled scenarios with a number of attributes: travel time, travel cost, waiting time, transfer amount, access and egress time, frequency, congestion time, baggage cost, and parking cost. A total of 1416 observations were acquired for further analysis. A mixed logit (MXL) model with random cost parameter and random error components was used. From the MXL results, we found that travel cost had no significant influence on the selection of commuting mode among students. This result was unforeseen given the characteristics of Indonesian consumers, who are notoriously sensitive to price. However, based on the results for several significant attributes of carpool as well as from the value of travel time savings and demand calculation, we suggest that carpooling is a valid alternative transport mode for campus commuting. As a pioneer study on student commuting mode selection, this study provided valid and dependable evidence on how students around ITB main campus choose their transportation methods. Keywords. angkutan bersama, mahasiswa  ITB, mixed logit, elastisitas, nilai waktu.

Abstract

Today the internet makes the world connected. Therefore, marketing techniques have begun to shift from conventional to digital methods. In this digital world, content is considered key, not only as part of the promotion method but also as a communication bridge between brands and consumers to create credibility and loyalty. However, with so many choices of social media platforms with different characteristics and trends, content creators need to know the expectations and tastes of their consumers. In this study, the authors use a case study of a sports property media company, ONE Championship, which launched a social media platform specifically for the Indonesian market. Since October 2020, the company headquartered in Singapore has launched a YouTube channel dedicated to the Indonesian market. Through this research, the author hopes to determine the right content strategy for the ONE Championship Indonesia YouTube channel according to local consumers' tastes. This study uses qualitative methods and thematic analysis. Primary data was obtained through interviews with three ONE Championship employees operating the Indonesian-language ONE Championship YouTube platform and seven ONE Championship consumers in Indonesia. The findings of this study produce a variety of data on consumer tastes in content, consumer habits in consuming content, and consumer expectations for future content. The author then re-analyzed the data to find a content strategy that the ONE Championship team can implement on its Indonesian YouTube channel over the next two years.

Abstract

Efficient market is a topic that spurs many interests among financier, due to the significant number of both its proponents and opponents. This paper examines the efficiency of the infrastructure and the commodity sector market in Indonesia by using event study. The PEN (Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional / National Economic Recovery) event is used as the benchmark event to see whether there is any abnormal return that is generated by the sectors’ market. We calculated the abnormal return and cumulative abnormal return of each of our sample firms in the sector, as well as calculating the average abnormal return and cumulative average abnormal return for each sector. Using the T-test to determine the significancy of the abnormal return, we found that both sectors differ in their efficiency. While we found the infrastructure sector to be efficient, the result of the test on commodity sector instead shows that the sector is inefficient.

Abstract

The geographical condition of Indonesia, at the confluence of three tectonic plates, results in the production of faults that can be found throughout the country, including the Lembang Fault. As a result of this state, the majority of the Lembang Fault area and its surroundings are disaster-prone, making the issue of economic resilience in disaster-prone areas crucial. Focus of this research covers the villages traversed by the Lembang Fault. Over the past ten years, the economic growth in the region has been rather significant, particularly in eco and green tourism. The objective of this study was to obtain a map of the level of economic activity to determine economic activity in the Lembang Fault-prone area and a map of economic development recommendation areas in the Lembang Fault area. The methodologies used are literature review, sample data collecting through public questionnaires, and secondary data gathering in hotel, restaurant, and tourism data. The outputs obtained from this study are a thematic map of economic activity and a thematic map of regional recommendations for economic development in the Lembang Fault area. According to the findings, areas in the east (Bandung Barat Regency and Bandung Regency) with high and medium disaster risk values that are overlaid on low economic activity density values are the areas that allow for sustainable economic development. In the case of most high-risk overlay areas, further review on the preparation of mitigation and optimal community suppression is required in the event of an earthquake disaster caused by the Lembang Fault.
