Abstract

This research aims to develop Android-based learning media for the Basic Job Skills, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and Work Culture elements in the Building Design and Information Construction (DPIB) field at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman. The development was driven by the need for interactive, attractive, and easily accessible learning innovations to support students in understanding vocational materials more contextually. This study used a Research and Development approach with the DDDE model, consisting of the decide, design, develop, and evaluate stages. Data were obtained using validation and practicality questionnaires assessed by media experts, material experts, teachers, and students. The validation results showed that the media achieved an Aiken's V score of 0.88 from media experts and 0.91 from material experts, indicating a very valid category. Practicality testing obtained 96 percent from teachers and 89 percent from students, which were categorized as very practical. Based on the findings, the developed Android-based learning media is suitable for use as an interactive, innovative, and effective learning resource to support the DPIB learning process in vocational schools.

Abstract

The problems that arise in the element of Building Construction Costing and Scheduling Plan include the incompatibility of the use of learning models applied by teachers with the characteristics of the independent curriculum. Low student learning outcomes are a factor in choosing the PjBL learning model. This research was conducted to determine how effective the PjBL learning model is in order to improve student learning outcomes through the Building Construction Costing and Scheduling Plan element. The type of research used is PTK, with the research subjects used being 7 people in the 2024/2025 school year. For the test of test questions, it has been carried out on class XI DPIB 2 students at SMKN 1 Pariaman with 21 respondents. This study shows that PjBL can improve student learning outcomes in the material of calculating floor work. This is indicated by student learning scores on the pre-test (before action) with an average obtained of 59.29. While in cycle 1 an average of 69.29 was obtained, it increased in cycle 2 to 82.86. In addition, the student learning completeness rate increased to 100% in cycle 2 after the action was taken. Therefore, this study proves that the PjBL model can improve the learning achievement of class XI DPIB students on the elements of the Cost Plan and Scheduling of Building Construction at SMKN 4 Pariaman.

Abstract

Low motivation and learning outcomes among students in the Construction Cost Planning (Rencana Anggaran Biaya/RAB) course underlie this study. Of 28 students in class XI DPIB at SMK Negeri 5 Padang, only 9 students (32.14%) met the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP), while 19 students (67.86%) had not. This study aimed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of a Quizizz-based interactive learning medium in improving students' learning motivation and learning outcomes. This research and development (R&D) study used the ADDIE model. The subjects consisted of three media experts, three material experts, one RAB subject teacher, and 28 students of class XI DPIB. Instruments included expert validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, an ARCS-based learning motivation questionnaire, and pretest–posttest items. Data were analyzed using Aiken's V index, percentage, Normalized Gain (N-Gain), and Borich's Percentage Agreement (PA). Results showed that the medium achieved a validity level of 0.94 (valid), a practicality level of 90% (very practical), and was effective in increasing learning motivation with an N-Gain of 0.42 (moderate) and learning outcomes with an N-Gain of 0.72 (high). The evaluation instrument's reliability was confirmed with a Percentage Agreement of 98%. The Quizizz-based learning medium thus meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, and is feasible for use in RAB instruction in class XI DPIB at SMK Negeri 5 Padang.

Abstract

Tingginya angka pemuda putus sekolah dan terbatasnya akses terhadap pelatihan vokasional di Kenagarian Pandam Gadang menyebabkan rendahnya keterampilan kerja dan meningkatnya risiko pengangguran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan pemuda melalui pelatihan kompetensi pengelasan yang relevan dengan kebutuhan industri dan peluang wirausaha lokal. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan participatory training yang meliputi tahap pemetaan kebutuhan, sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis berbasis praktik, serta pendampingan dan evaluasi. Pelatihan dilaksanakan selama tiga hari dengan fokus pada penguasaan teknik dasar pengelasan, keselamatan kerja (K3), pembuatan berbagai jenis sambungan, serta praktik pembuatan produk teralis sebagai proyek akhir. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kompetensi teknis peserta, ditandai dengan kualitas hasil las yang lebih rapi, stabilitas jalur, dan kemampuan menerapkan prosedur kerja secara mandiri. Selain itu, peserta mengalami perkembangan soft skills seperti kerja sama, komunikasi, dan disiplin, yang penting dalam dunia kerja maupun wirausaha. Program ini juga meningkatkan motivasi pemuda untuk membuka usaha bengkel las sebagai alternatif peningkatan ekonomi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan dan kemandirian pemuda putus sekolah, serta berpotensi menjadi model pemberdayaan yang dapat direplikasi di wilayah lain. Tindak lanjut diperlukan untuk mendukung keberlanjutan praktik dan peluang usaha peserta.
