Abstract

This research is motivated by the facts in the field that students' understanding was low because students are not actively involved in learning. Learning activities of students can be optimized by the use of conducive equipment of learning. Equipment of learning is suitable to describe the active involvement of students in learning is student worksheet. The purpose of this research is to produce a student worksheet based on simas eric models on the content of measurement and vector that is suitable for physics learning in class X SMA / MA from the aspects of validity and practicality. The type of research applied is R&D (Research and Development) using 3 stages out of 4 4-D stages developed by Thiagarajan, et al. those are define, design, and development. Subject of the research are 33 students class XII from SMAN 3 Padang Panjang, 2 teachers Physics from SMAN 3 Padang Panjang, 4 Physics lectures from FMIPA UNP and a learning model developer. Validation of product are reviewed from two aspects those are the feasebility of equipment of learning and simas eric learning model. The analysis technique used in this research is quantitative analysing using formula momen kappa. The result of validaty of the feasebility of equipment of learning was 0,83 with very valid criteria and validaty of simas eric learning model was very valid with value 0,85. The result of practicality by the teacher was 0,81 with very practical criteria and practicality by students was practical criteria with value 0,79.

Abstract

In 2013 curriculum, the science learning was carried out in an integrated form. In the school of science learning conditions hasn’t been successful in implementing the integrated learning. A solution to this problem is the integrated science worksheet by integrating digital age literacy. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of integrated science student worksheet by integrating literacy on competency of grade VIII students. The type of research conducted was a quasi experiment with before-after design. The population in this research were all students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 13 Padang Academic Year 2017/2018. The sample in the research was grade VIII 2 which was obtained by purposive sampling technique. Research instruments for knowledge was written test, observation sheet for attitude aspect and performance assessment sheet forskillsaspects. Data analysis were statistical descriptive analysis and correlated comparision test. The results of this research are the use of integrated student worksheet by integraty digital age literacy gives significant effect on competency of student including, attitude, knowledge, and skill aspects at 95% confidence level. Thus, the use of Integrated science student worksheetby integrity digital age literacy is effective in science approach on grade VIII SMP Negeri 13 Padang.

Abstract

Literation is needed in facing of 21 st century challengers. To face this challenge The Government of Indonesia encourages the literacy movement at school, which is abbreviated with GLS. The real condition show that science learning is still now well implemented, and student literacy is still slow. The solution of the problem is applying integrated science to charged literacy of the digital age. The objective of the research is to determine the effect of integrated teaching materials on the theme respiration health and exretion of digital literacy on the competence of students of class VIII SMPN 15 Padang.The tipe of reasearch conducted is quasi experimental. The research designed used was a nonequivalent control gruop with posttest only. The population of this study is all students of class VIII registered in semester 1 academic year 2017/2018 SMPN 15 Padang.. This study uses two sample classes. The sample class students are 64 students. This sample class is chosen by combining purposive sampling technique and random cluster sampling. The research instrument is a written test sheet for the knowledge aspect, an observation sheet for the attitude aspect, and a performance assesment sheet for the skill aspect. Research date were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and equality test of two averages.From the data analysis, it can be found that the application of science an integrated teaching materials of the theme of respiratory and excavated health to the knowledge, attitude, and skill aspect of the students of grade VIII SMPN 15 Padang at the real level of 95%. A positive influence on the use of integrated science materials can improve aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Thus an integrated science teaching material of respiratory and excavated healthcare excretion of the digital era is well used for integrated science learning.

Abstract

One of the problems in physics learning in high school is that students are less able to solve various problems that are relevant to the subject matter, so student physics learning outcomes are still low. This research aims to determine the effect of the application of metacognitive strategy in problem-based learning to the results of physics learning of class XI students at SMAN 4 Padang in the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. This research is in the form of Quasi Experiment with the design of Posttest Only Control Gorup Design. The sampling technique was Cluster Random Sampling obtained by class XI MIPA 2 as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 1 as the control class. Research data was obtained through instruments in the form of LKS and tests in the form of learning outcomes data on aspects of knowledge. The instruments used have met the validity and reliability through trials. The results showed that the posttest results of the experimental class average value of 62.72 were higher than the average value of the control class of 55.34. The results of the t test at the 95% level indicate that tcount> t table, so that the difference in average values is due to differences in treatment. From the results of regression analysis and simple linear correlation between the value of using LKS and posttest in the experimental class, the value of rxy was 0.623, meaning that there were 38.81% contributions to the application of metacognitive strategy to student learning outcomes.

Abstract

In Physics learning, students' thinking ability is still low. This is felt when students are given problems to be solved, such as solving problems related to high-order thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of teaching materials oriented problem solving on the achievement of HOTS students class X SMA N 12 Padang. This research belongs to a kind of quasi experiment with Posttest Only Control Group Design research design. The population of this study is all students of grade X SMA N 12 Padang registered in the academic year 2017/2018. Sampling was conducted by using Cluster Random Sampling technique to get class X IPA 1 as experiment class and class X IPA 5 as control class. The data collected are two primary and secondary data. Primary data in the form of data result of teaching materials and final test data. Secondary data is documentation data obtained through Physics teacher and administration. The data obtained were processed using t test and correlation test. after fulfilling normality, homogeneity and linearity. Furthermore the correlation test can be performed after the data is normally distributed and satisfies the linear relationship. According to the results of data analysis found the results as follows. There is an effect of 51% of problem-oriented teaching materials to solving HOTS students. Thus the working hypothesis which reads "there is a meaningful influence of the problem solve oriented learning material toward the achievement of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Physics learning in grade X SMA N 12 Padang" is acceptable.

Abstract

Interactive teaching materials play an important role to achieve success in the learning process. The reality is at school, learning physics has not used interactive teaching materials only printed teaching materials are available in the library. The implementation of learning still applies the lecture method and does not use the model of learning. The application of character values has not been integrated in teaching materials. Overcoming the problem is given a solution that is applying Character Loaded Interactive Teaching Materials. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Interactive Character-Based Teaching Materials using the Discovery Learning Model on the Achievement of Students of Class XI SMAN 7 Solok Selatan. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design using the Posttest Only Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study population was all students of class XI MIA SMAN 7 Solok Selatan. The technique of determining the sample is done by combining purposive sampling and cluster random sampling techniques. The research sample is class XI MIA 2 for the experimental class and class XI MIA I as the control class. Instruments for obtaining data in the form of an attitude observation sheet and posttest sheet. Processing data using normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, simple linear regression and correlation test at the real level of 0.05. The results showed that the average value of experimental class knowledge competence was higher than the average value of control class knowledge competence of 81.08 and 72.24. The result of product moment correlation analysis on knowledge competence is 24.88% and attitude competency is 25.31%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that at the real level of 0.05 there is a significant influence of the application of Character-Based Interactive Teaching Materials using the Discovery Learning Model for the Achievement of Students in Class XI of SMAN 7 Solok Selatan.

Abstract

Kinematics is a part of physics. It discusses about motion without regard to the external forces which cause the motion. In senior high school, kinematics is divided into three of basic competency. They are straight motion, parabolic motion and circular motion. The important of part for this topic is relation graphs of several magnitudes are often presented. Kinematics graphs are often not thoroughly discussed at school. So most studets can’t analyze the graphs about straight motion and parabolic motion. To overcome this problem, a media are needed that has developed at this time. That is often used in physics learning, especially in motion. Its name is tracker. Tracker is a free video analysis application that can be downloaded using internet. This application was developed by Open Source Physics which is able to analyze the graph of movement of objects through video. Through the use of this applicatio, it is expected that there will be an increase in student learning outcomes

Abstract

The results of the analysis of the documentation of physics learning outcomes of class X students in the city of Padang, showed that student learning outcomes on Newton's Law of Motion occupied the lowest value compared to other material. This shows that in the learning process students get various difficulties. This study aims to a) determine the tendency of students 'perceptions of physics learning on Newton's law material about motion, b) determine the quality of student learning outcomes on Newton's law material about motion, c) the contribution of students' perceptions of physics learning on Newton's law material about motion towards results student learning in the semester January-June 2019, and d) reveal various problems experienced by students in the physics learning process in terms of perception. This research belongs to the type of correlational descriptive research. The research sample was drawn using Stratified Random Sampling technique. The number of samples obtained was 60 students representing students with high, medium and less grades who came from 4 public high schools and 1 private high school. Research data on perceptions were obtained using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire consisting of 60 items of statements and learning outcome data obtained through 24 items arranged based on 4 dimensions of knowledge and 6 levels of cognitive processes in the revised Bloom taxonomy. The research instrument used has fulfilled the feasibility through its validity and reliability test. Data processing is done through percentage techniques and Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis after fulfilling the test requirements for analysis, normality and linearity. The results showed that a) the students' average perception of learning physics in Newton's law material about motion was in the high category with a value of 2.74 from a maximum value of 4, b) student's physics learning outcomes in Newton's law material about motion in the low category with an average value of 48, c) there is a significant positive relationship between students' perceptions with their learning outcomes in Newton's law material about motion with a contribution of 61.3%, and d) revealed 10 factors that cause students difficulty in learning Newton's law material about motion according to students' perceptions.

Abstract

One of Unesco pillars, learning to know or learning to learn, should become the underlying principles in learning process. Students are expected to understand the concepts that they have had learned comprehensively and applied them in real world problems. But reality shows that student comprehension level is so low and there is a lot of misconceptions that exist. This study aims to elicit the effect of conflict cognitive strategy upon the comprehension level of tenth grader students in SMAN 5 Bukittinggi. This study is conducted by using pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. Data of research are collected through answer sheet equipped with modified Certainty of Response Index (CRI) technique in which students choose their answers and certainty indexes accompanied with reasons of their answers. Hypothesis testing uses Wilcoxon test with signifincane level 0.05. Since the calculated value (Zcount) is beyond the acceptance area of critical value (Ztable), it means that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This result brings conclusion that there is statistically difference of students’ comprehension level before the implementation of conflict cognitive strategy compared to one after the strategy has been being applied. Application of cognitive conflict strategy yields effect on students’ conceptual understanding, wherein it increase percentage of students that understand concepts and decrease percentage of students who bear misconception and those who do not know concepts.

Abstract

The learning objectives in the 2013 Curriculum expect changes and improvements in students' competencies. To encourage the achievement of these learning objectives, the learning tools should refer to the Graduate Competency Standards (SKL) which have been regulated in Permendikbud number 20 of 2016. It is explained that the revised Bloom's taxonomy is a reference in developing SKL. The revised Bloom's Taxonomy developed by Anderson and Krathwohl in 2001 categorizes learning outcomes by referring to the dimensions of knowledge and levels of thinking processes. However, the reality is that the intensity of the dimensions of knowledge and the level of thinking processes in learning devices is still not balanced. So, the learning objectives can not be achieved optimally. This study aims to produce a design in the form of a learning device that is oriented to the integration of the dimensions of knowledge and the level of thinking processes. The type of research used is R & D (Research and Development) using a development model, namely the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In this study, it was only limited to the third stage with valid criteria. The results showed that the learning tools oriented to the integration of the dimensions of knowledge and the level of thought processes were in the very valid category with an overall average value of 3.38
