Abstract

The incidence of COVID-19 in Indonesia is significantly increasing. In Indonesia, there were 965.283 confirmed cases and 27.453 people died of covid as of January 22, 2021. Meanwhile, the 7.505 confirmed cases and 352 death were from Surakarta. In this pandemic situation, the community must protect itself from being infected by the virus. Prevention is done by implementating the 5M health protocol, which are wearing mask, social distancing, and hand washing. Those health protocols are also part of clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS). Special needs children (ABK) are those who have different characteristics than any other common children. Special health consideration should be given for those special needs child, including PHBS because of the special needs they are having and probable difficulties into implementing PHBS. The consideration can be given by their teacher, caretaker, parents, or trained social health workers in the hope of special needs children become independent into implementing the PHBS. The aim of this program is implementating social service program and helping special needs children to become independent in implementating PHBS and health protocol. The program was held by lecturing, demonstration, simulation, and supervised practice. This program hopefully will prevent either health issues or prevent the spreading of infective disease, specifically in this pandemic situation.

Abstract

Red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum) can effectively inhibit the growth of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Aside from containing active ingredients that are useful, the more value of red ginger is that it has a fresh, spicy taste, is easy to obtain and the price is cheap. So that when used as toothpaste, in addition to inhibiting the bacteria Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans that cause periodontal disease, it can also refresh the throat and oral cavity. This study aims to describe and analyze organoleptic toothpaste with antiseptic and deodorizing ingredients from red ginger stew at concentrations of 25% and 50%. This type of research is analytic research that is pre-experimental with a one-shoot case study study design. The population in this study were students of the Postgraduate Masters of Nutrition Science Study Program of Sebelas Maret University Surakarta who had received organoleptic test training totaling 96 people. Samples were taken as many as 31 people with random sampling techniques. Data analysis uses Kendall Concordance statistical test. The results showed that the average preference for aroma, taste and overall toothpaste with a concentration of 50% (rank = 1.77, 1.81 and 6.14) was higher than toothpaste with a concentration of 25% (rank = 1, 23, 1.19, 3.86). Statistical test results also showed that respondents in tune / favor preferred toothpaste with a concentration of 50% rather than 25% (p = 0,000). The conclusion of this study is that toothpaste with a concentration of 50% is preferred over 25%.

Abstract

Introduction: Drug Induced Liver Injury (DILI) is a liver injury caused by drug toxicity. About 41 out of 100.000 people suffer liver damage due to DILI. Most of this injury caused by excessive use of paracetamol. Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri Linn.) contains antioxidants that can protect liver from damage. The aim of this research was to investigate the hepatoprotective effect of meniran extract on histological damage in liver cells induced by paracetamol. Methods: This was laboratory experimental research with post test only controlled group design. This research was conducted in Histology Laboratory FK UNS. Samples were 30 mice obtained by purposive sampling which characteristics were Swiss webster type, male, 2-3 months old, 20 gr of each weight. Samples divided randomly into 5 groups, each group has six mice. The normal group (KN) was given distilled water only. The negative control group (KK (-)) was given paracetamol toxic dose only. The positive control group (KK (+)) was given Curcuma and paracetamol toxic dose. A gradual dose (2.8 mg and 5.6 mg) of meniran extract was given daily to the first treatment group (KP 1) and second treatment group (KP 2) for 14 days respectively and added with paracetamol toxic dose (5 mg) on day 8th to 14th orally. On day 15th, mice were sacrificed and liver were taken for preparation with HE staining. Liver cells damage was identified by counting nucleus with pyknosis, karryorhexis, and karyolysis from 100 liver cells. Data was analyzed using One-Way ANOVA and Post Hoc Multiple Comparisons-LSD (? = 0.05). Results: One-Way ANOVA showed that there was a significant difference between 5 groups (p < 0.05). Post Hoc Multiple Comparisons-LSD showed that there were significant differences (p < 0.05) between KN-KK (-), KN-KK (+), KN-KP 1, KN-KP 2, KK (-)-KK (+). KK (-)-KP 1, KK (-)-KP 2, KK (+)-KP 1, KP 1-KP 2, but there was not significant difference between KK (+)-KP 2 (p > 0.05). Conclusions: Meniran extract has hepatoprotective effect on histological structure damage of mices liver cells induced by paracetamol in a dose dependent manner. Keywords: Phyllanthus niruri, paracetamol, liver cells histologic damage

Abstract

Communication ethics is a set of principles that regulate how to communicate politely, courteously, and effectively, which is very important in everyday life, especially in the educational environment. However, communication ethics skills are often not optimally mastered by students due to the lack of interactive and relevant learning media. This research aims to develop innovative role-playing-based learning media designed to improve the communication ethics skills of grade 8 students at MTs Al Azhaar Ummu Suwanah. This research is motivated by the importance of communication ethics skills as one of the basic competencies in learning, which is often poorly facilitated through conventional learning methods. This role-playing media is designed to provide an interactive learning experience through simulating everyday communication situations that are relevant to students' lives. Effectiveness testing was carried out through limited trials and field trials involving 8th grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, and expert validation. The results showed that this role-playing learning media was effective in improving students' communication ethics skills. In addition, this media is also considered attractive, easy to use, and able to create a fun learning atmosphere. Thus, the role-playing board can be an innovative alternative to support the interaction-based learning process and direct practice in the classroom.
