Abstract

As many as 6 million people are injured in traffic accidents every year. Fractures are one of the most common injuries experienced by victims with a prevalence of 5.5%, and the body parts most affected by fractures are the lower extremities (67%). Early mobilization is one of the interventions for postoperative recovery in patients so that the rehabilitation process takes place quickly. Many factors influence the implementation of early mobilization. The purpose of this study was to determine what factors were associated with early mobilization in postoperative patients with lower limb fractures at Meuraxa Hospital in Banda Aceh. The design of this study used an analytic observational method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all postoperative patients with lower limb fractures in the male and female surgical inpatient rooms at Meuraxa Hospital, Banda Aceh. Sampling using purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 36 people. The univariate and bivariate data analysis used the Chi Square statistical test. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between health condition factors, namely hemoglobin (p=0.045), pain level (p=0.006), lifestyle factors (p=0.002), and knowledge factors (p=0.001) with early mobilization in postnatal patients. Lower Extremity Fracture surgery.

Abstract

Nurses are the health profession with the most number when compared to other health professions. They play a critical role in disaster management. Competencies related to disaster management are acquired by nurses during their learning process in higher education institutions. One of the challenges in nursing education is the application of theoretical knowledge into practice, particularly in disaster situations. A learning model that can integrate nursing theory with practical skills is simulation-based learning. This research aims to evaluate students' perceptions regarding the implementation of disaster management simulations in the Nursing Disaster course at the Nursing Diploma III Program in Banda Aceh. The respondents of this study were 48 students of the Diploma Three Nursing Program in Banda Aceh. Data collection was carried out through a Likert-scale questionnaire containing questions about students' perceptions of various aspects of simulation implementation. The results of this research indicate that, overall, students' perceptions of the implementation of disaster management simulations in the Nursing Disaster course are very positive.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Deteksi Dini, Gangguan Pendengaran Anak, Serumen  ABSTRACT Hearing loss in children needs to be detected as early as possible considering the important role of hearing function in the process of speech development. Delay in diagnosis means that there is also a delay in starting intervention and will have a serious impact on further development. Hearing screening in newborns can find hearing loss at the beginning so that habilitation can be done immediately. Early identification of hearing loss can be done by observing the child's reaction to sound or hearing function tests with simple methods and equipment that can be done by cadres, mothers at home. Hearing tests in children cannot be postponed just because the child's age does not allow for a hearing test. The results obtained from 50 participants who attended for ear examinations obtained 50 children had no problems with hearing but, there were problems with serumen (earwax) totaling 10 people (20%) and no serumen totaling 40 people (80%). It is recommended to mothers whose children have cerumen to bring their children to the ENT clinic for cleaning.  Keywords: Early Detection, Child Hearing Loss, Serumen

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) disease requires long-term treatment so some patients experience difficulty in compliance with the nursing care plan. Family support for family members who experience DM is also still very low (45,8%) in providing care. Complications in DM patients can worsen the patient's health condition and even experience amputation due to circulation problems making it difficult for wounds to heal. Objectives: To analyze the correlation between family support and wound healing in DM patients. Methods: The quantitative research approach was designed with a cross-sectional study. The sample used was non-probability sampling with an accidental technique of 34 DM patients at the Istiqamah Wound Care Clinic, Aceh Besar Regency. Family support data was collected using interviews, while wound healing data used observation. The collected data in September 2023 were analyzed using the pearson correlation coefficient test with α=0,05.Results: Almost 70,0% of patients received high emotional support from the family and 50,0% of the DM wound healing was in the wound regeneration category. The correlation coefficient test (r) revealed that emotional support (r=0,669), instrumental support (r=0,874), informational support (r=0,480), and assessment support (r=0,377). Family support has a significant positive correlation with wound healing in DM patients (p<0,05). The higher the support provided by the family during treatment, the faster the wound healing process in DM patients. Conclusion: Family support, especially instrumental support, is needed in healing wounds in DM patients, so that the health of DM patients can be achieved optimally.
