Abstract

This research investigates the potential of bituminous coal from Sawahlunto, Indonesia, as a raw material for nanocarbon synthesis using a hydrothermal method. The study aims to enhance the economic value of coal by exploring its transformation into nanocarbon. The process involves stages of preparation, carbonization, and hydrothermal at varying temperatures (120°C, 150°C, and 180°C) durations (2 and 4 hours). Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) were employed to characterize the resulting nanocarbon. The hydrothermal process improved the crystallinity of coal from 51% to 57% and reduced its particle size to 47.71 nm. SEM and TEM analyses revealed a more uniform and refined morphology in the nanocarbon compared to raw coal. The study underscores the effectiveness of the hydrothermal method in optimizing the physical and structural properties of coal-derived nanocarbon, paving the way for its potential application in various industries.

Abstract

This study examines the use of Kalam Khabari in the poem “Uhibbuki Jiddan” by Nizar Qabbani through the framework of Ilm al Ma‘ani in Arabic rhetoric. The study aims to identify the types of Kalam Khabari, the forms of emphasis employed, and the rhetorical purposes that emerge in the text, as well as to explain their role in constructing the romantic tone of the poem. This research applies a qualitative descriptive method using a distributional approach. The data consist of poetic lines containing declarative structures, collected through careful and repeated reading, then identified, classified, and analyzed based on their structural forms and rhetorical functions. The findings reveal three main types of Kalam Khabari, namely ibtida’i, thalabi, and inkari, supported by various emphasis devices such as particles, repetition, and oath expressions. These structures function not only to convey information but also to express weakness, evoke awareness, convey emotional intensity, and invite compassion. The study shows that Kalam Khabari plays a significant role in strengthening meaning, intensifying emotional expression, and shaping the romantic character of the poem

Abstract

This study identifies the representation of female identity in the film Naga (2023) by Meshal Al-Jasser using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory, which focuses on denotative, connotative, and myth meanings. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with observation-note data collection techniques. Data were obtained through observations of dialogues and visual symbols that represent female identity conflicts in the film Naga. The research results on 12 findings show that visual symbols such as the view through the carpet hole function as connotative signs of the limitation of the main character's mobility. This symbol represents the myth of patriarchal father roles as authority holders who become obstacles to women's individual freedom in the narrative of the film Naga. The film Naga voices satirical criticism concerning women related to fair and humane social rights. This study concludes that the film Naga becomes a medium of social representation that depicts women's struggle in balancing between tradition and modernity.
