Abstract

This study is intended to investigate the influence of modeling and authority of teachers (partially and simultaneously) to the attitude of students at MTs and MA Sunan Drajat Geger Bojonegoro, academic year 2015. The data collections used were questionnaire and documentation. The number of subjects were 40 respondents drawn using random sampling techniques. Data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed using Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression. The finding reveals that the most influential factor towards students’ attitudes is modeling with regression coefficient of 0.972 (97.2%). Authority has positive effect towards students’ attitude though not significant with a regression coefficient of 0.02 (2%). In testing the hypothesis using F test, the two variables modeling (X1) and authority (X2) simultaneously affect the students’ attitude. This can be seen from the value of F which is greater than the F table.

Abstract

Pesantren as the oldest Islamic educational institution in Indonesia is so far still exists as a social education institution (al-haiah al-ta'lîm wa al-tarbiyyah), guidance services for the community (al-haiah al ta'âwuny wa al-takâfuly wa al-ittijâhi), and struggle (al-haiah al-jihadi li'izzi al-Islami wa al-muslimîn). Pesantren's social role in community life continues to survive and can significantly change social reality. The education system and social values built by the Pesantren, sociologically, can be social capital to influence social actions and behavior, including to prevent the disharmony from fundamental aspects, one of which is by building family resilience. This article is a preliminary study to measure the role of Pesantren’s value and its contribution as one of the national development stakeholders in promoting premarital education for students and in family studies for communities outside the Pesantren

Abstract

The Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still one of the main health problems of Indonesian society. Usually, this disease which originates from the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes often occurs during the rainy season. The number of dengue fever cases in Bangkalan for the period 1-20 January 2023 was recorded at 27 cases with 1 death. Community concern for the surrounding environment is one of the factors in increasing healthy living behavior. There is a need to increase public awareness of the environmental conditions of slum settlements in preventing Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in residential environments. In general, the implementation of community service uses the participatory observation method. The participatory observation method has several stages, including: 1) Initial observation. 2) Participation. 3) Observation. 4) Reflection. 5) Analysis and interpretation. Community service related to preventing dengue fever outbreaks is carried out through providing education regarding environmental cleanliness and health to mothers in the Gili Anyar Kamal Bangkalan Village area through 3 (three) stages, namely: 1) pre-test to determine the audience's level of understanding regarding environmental health and dengue fever; 2) education about health and environmental health, prevention methods and community participation in handling dengue fever; 3) post-test to measure the mother's knowledge after carrying out community service activities. The results of the outreach were proven to increase public understanding regarding Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever with an increase in scores of 35.8%. In order to combat dengue fever, community participation is very important. By taking steps to prevent the spread of dengue fever, communities can help fight this disease and protect their personal health and that of their surrounding communities

Abstract

This article discusses the reconstruction and reorientation of polygamy regulations in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), specifically Articles 55–59, through the philosophical framework of maqāṣid al-usrah developed by Jamāluddīn ‘Aṭiyyah. This research is crucial given that the KHI, having been in force for over 30 years, requires a new reading (the expedient of re-interpretation) to preserve the values of maqāṣid in facing contemporary social dynamics. This qualitative study, utilizing a library research method and content analysis, aims to explore the maqāṣid values and evaluate their alignment with Indonesia’s positive legal norms. The analysis results indicate that the KHI implicitly integrates three core dimensions of ‘Aṭiyyah’s maqāṣid al-usrah, namely taḥqīq al-sakīnah wa al-mawaddah wa al-raḥmah, tanẓīm al-’alāqah bayn al-jinsayn, and tanẓīm al-jānib al-mālī li al-usrah, primarily through the key requirement of acting justly (Article 55 Paragraph 2) and the necessity of obtaining permission from the Religious Court (Article 56). ‘Aṭiyyah’s concept, which demands psychological and emotional justice (al-’adālah al-nāfsi-yah wa al-wijdāni-yah), provides a strong foundation for reorienting the interpretation, shifting the focus from formal procedure to the substance of the objective. The article recommends adding ethical and social clauses (such as psychological assessment) and explicitly integrating the maqāṣid al-usrah principles into the KHI, so that Islamic family law can serve as a contextual, humanistic, and solution-oriented guide in realizing substantive justice and protecting family sakīnah.

Abstract

This research has shown that the main institutional problem with child marriage prevention in Bangkalan is not the lack of legal norms, but the lack of the capacity of legal frameworks at the grassroots level. The lack of strong enforcement, the indecisiveness of village officials, and poor coordination between religious courts, KUA officials, and child protection institutions are the problems that can undermine the effective application of the Bangkalan Regent Regulation No. 60 of 2024. Although the regulation offers a holistic system whereby preventive strategies and multisectoral coordination are incorporated, its effect in operation is limited by the culture and economic influences that still legitimize early marriage practices. The paper finds institutional fragmentation, low enforcement capacity, and socio-cultural resistance to be some of the critical challenges in policy implementation. Legal structure, legal culture and socio-economic conditions interact to influence the effectiveness of the legal enforcement. The analysis by the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) shows that the most strategic priority is reinforcement of legal enforcement and village-level supervision, but its sustainability requires simultaneous community education and economic empowerment. This study will be of significance to the socio-legal discussion since it will indicate that the efficacy of local regulation is conditional upon the correspondence between the aspects of the legal system, as envisioned by Lawrence M. Friedman, and the moral purpose of the Islamic law, stipulated in maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, especially ḥifẓ al-nasl. Bangkalan case empirically demonstrates that the local regulations can serve as effective tools to translate national child protection commitments into context-sensitive governance as long as they are accompanied by institutional capacity, cultural involvement, and policy strategies.
