Abstract

Employees are internal customers for the company. By looking at the salary and fringe benefits accepted by the employees, there are only few companies that could satisfy these internal customers. Another way to increase employee's satisfaction is to implement an employee empowerment program, which means involvement of the employees in every step of the production process, including the delegation of decision making and responsibility. This paper will attempt to provide an adequate description of employee empowerment program and its benefits in increasing employees' motivation and working spirit. Furthermore, employee empowerment will also increase the effectivity of the company as well as improve the customer services. In implementing employee empowerment, the company has to create a conducive internal atmosphere, namely: trust and open management.

Abstract

Business World has become "Borderless World" and cannot grow by developing its domestic market only, but also have to take a challenge to make an overseas expansion. There are some differences between domestic and international business. Indeed, international business has more aspects than domestic business, therefore a company has to be more effective when it attempts to make an overseas expansion. This paper will explain about how a company attain a high effectiveness and get ready to enter international business. Several strategies of international Business, such as: exportation, licensing agreement, management contracts, joint ventures and subsidiaries will be elaborated. Finally, Global service strategies, which are: multi country expansion, importing customers, follow your customers, service unbundling, and beating the clock will also be discussed.

Abstract

Forecasting  methods are basic tools  that we have to know to make assumptions  for planing or decision making. There are a lot of forecasting method,  and as a decision maker we have to choose  the right model  for our type of data. Choosing  the right model of forecasting  is not difficult  if we know  the pattern of the-data  and the  requirements  of the method. This paper described  how we could choose  the right forecasting. Abstract

Jawa Barat as the next province after DKI Jakarta has many strategic roles. Jawa Barat has a vision to be the most advance province  in 2012, according  to the vision Jawa Barat has to achieve that vision and reach the opportunity. There are so much  to do and big challenges that Jawa Barat has  to deal with. But  the important things is how  the government recognize classification  of services and knows the challenge they  face.

Inventory is everything that organization can use or keep. Inventory is the most expensive assets of many companies, that's why organization have to manage their inventory. Hospital is one of the organization that have to manage their inventory very well, because drugs is very expensive and very crucial for the patient and hospital. Abstract

Companies can achieve competitive advantage by several way, such as by managing queues. A queue can define by a line of waiting customers who require or need service from a server or company. The waiting customer can be satisfied or dissatisfied by the queuing systems that company use. Managing queues means that company tries to diminish the negative effect of waiting, so we can exceed the customer expectation and we have the happy customer. Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprise (UMKM) have significant impact to economic development, we can see the increasing Gross Domestic Product (GDP) every year. Government give more concern about the empowerment of UMKM, because most of the UMKM has so much liability especially on managerial aspect. Paguyuban Cahaya Terang (PCT) as an object on this research, is a Paguyuban of craft leather from Sukaregang, Garut. The objective of this research are: (1) to indentify the characteristics of PCT, (2) to identify Strengts, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threaths of PCT, (3) make strategi development to increase the capability of PCT. Abstract

Industri kreatif saat ini menjadi topik yang ramai diperbincangkan, bukan hanya karena industri ini sedang berkembang di banyak negara tetapi juga karena ciri khas industri ini yang tidak lagi berlandaskan pada hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan aspek ekonomi (misalnya harga murah), tetapi bergeser ke aspek kreatif. Industri kreatif merupakan industri yang digerakkan oleh inovasi serta kreativitas. Keduanya dapat menjadi dasar pembentukan strategi keunggulan kompetitif perusahaan, yaitu strategi diferensiasi. Apabila perusahaan dapat tampil berbeda  dari pesaing-pesaingnya maka perusahaan juga dapat unggul dibanding pesaing-pesaingnya. Industri kreatif saat ini ditopang oleh Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM), yang sudah terbukti justru mampu bertahan pada saat Indonesia mengalami krisis ekonomi beberapa tahun silam. Pengelolaan strategi diferensiasi yang baik oleh UKM di bidang industri kreatif diharapkan tidak hanya akan memberikan kontribusi bagi pendapatan daerah maupun negara tetapi juga dapat membuat Indonesia muncul di kancah internasional sebagai negara yang berdaya saing tinggi. Sektor industri kreatif yang berkembang di Indonesia adalah sektor kuliner dan fashion. Strategi diferensiasi yang dapat digunakan dalam pengembangan kedua sektor tersebut adalah product differentiation, service differentiation, people differentiation, image differentiation, quality differentiation, dan  innovation differentiation. Dengan pengelolaan strategi diferensiasi yang baik di sektor industri kreatifnya diharapkan tujuan Bandung menjadi kota kreatif dapat terwujud. Kata kunci: industri kreatif, UKM, strategi diferensiasi
