Abstract

The high unemployment rate among high school graduates and the low critical thinking ability of high school students motivated the author to develop electronic teaching materials based on a contextual approach and oriented toward entrepreneurship. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the e-Module on colloid system with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) oriented toward Chemo-Entrepreneurship (CEP) to enhance students' critical thinking ability. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the Plomp model, which consists of the preliminary research phase, development or prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The research instruments used include validity questionnaires, practicality questionnaires and critical thinking ability test. The e-Module was validated by three lecturers from the Chemistry Department at UNP and two chemistry teachers from SMAN 6 Solok Selatan. Practicality testing was conducted with two chemistry teachers and 30 eleventh-grade students from SMAN 6 Solok Selatan. Data obtained from the validity and practicality tests were analyzed using Aiken’s V formula and practicality percentages. The validity test results showed a V value of 0.92, indicating a valid category. The analysis of the teacher practicality questionnaire showed an 86% score, categorized as very practical, while the student practicality questionnaire showed an 81% score, categorized as practical. The t-test yielded a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.026. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the developed e-Module is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an electronic module (E-module) of buffer solutions based on ethnochemistry-integrated problem-based learning to improve students' critical thinking skills and analyze the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the E-module on students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4-D development model. The 4-D development model consists of 4 stages of development, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. The results of the construct and content validity tests were 0.88, respectively, in the valid category. The results of the teacher and student practicality tests were 88.33% and 84.93%, respectively, in the very practical category. The N-Gain value analysis in the experimental and control classes was 0.71 and 0.46, respectively, in the high and medium criteria. The t-test results showed that students' critical thinking skills at SMAN 1 Bungo who used the E-module of buffer solutions based on ethnochemistry-integrated Problem-Based Learning were significantly higher than the control class that did not use the E-module. Thus, it can be said that the E-module on buffer solution material is valid, practical, and effective in significantly improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study is a research and development (R&D) study aimed at producing an electronic student worksheet (E-LKPD) based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) assisted by the Wizer.me website on the topic of buffer solutions. The development model employed was the 4-D model, comprising the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages; however, this study was limited to the develop stage. The research instruments included interview guidelines, validation sheets, teacher practicality questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The research subjects consisted of three chemistry lecturers from FMIPA UNP, two chemistry teachers from SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang, and Phase F students of SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang in the 2025/2026 academic year. The data collected were primary data analysed through validity and practicality tests. The expert validity test yielded an average Aiken's V index of 0.91, categorised as valid. The practicality test results indicated mean scores of 96% from teachers and 90% from students, both categorised as very practical. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the developed PBL-based E-LKPD assisted by Wizer.me is valid, highly practical, and feasible for use as a chemistry learning medium on buffer solution material.
