Abstract

Abstract:  West Java province was in a subduction zone and fault zone (slip fault), which caused earthquakes. Therefore, it was necessary to research estimates of maximum ground acceleration in West Java to mitigate earthquake disasters. This research also aimed to determine the value of ground acceleration and earthquake intensity and to determine the distribution map using the McGuire method and the Lin & Lee method. The data used were earthquake data for 1950-2023 with a magnitude > 5 SR. From processing this data, the maximum ground acceleration value in West Java ranged between 10.14722-195.3540 gal, and the maximum intensity value was IV-VI MMI using the Mc Guire method. Meanwhile, for the Lin & Lee method, it ranged between 6.6512 to 49.24599 gal. Of the two methods, the largest maximum ground acceleration value was located in Cianjur Regency, which was due to its proximity to the Cimandiri fault and the geological conditions in the area.

Abstract

Cow dung waste in Pauh sub-district is widely available. Only partly used as a traditional fertilizer. In fact, the utilization of cow dung is one of the alternative sources of renewable energy. Although biogas technology is not something new in Indonesia, the obstacles faced by farmers are their lack of knowledge about processing cow dung into biogas and making of biogas reactors. Community service has been undertaken to provide knowledge through guidance and counseling methods to farmers about biogas, biogas reactor manufacturing and technology, and the advantages of biogas reactors, both in terms of economic and environmental values. Stages of the implementation of the activities; 1). Provide guidance and counseling to farmers about biogas and how to manufacture biogas reactor, 2). Provide guidance and counseling about the safety of biogas reactors, 3). Conduct periodic monitoring of farmer groups that are partners to the continuity and continuity of activities. The result of the activity is the availability of biogas reactor in farmer group in Pauh sub-district. The fermentation process to produce biogas in the reactor is approximately 3 weeks. Biogas reactors are built easy to make and cheap.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a 21st-century skill that students must master, especially in physics learning, which requires logical reasoning and problem-solving. However, students' critical thinking abilities remain relatively low. One solution proposed by many researchers is an electronic module (e-module) integrated with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This article aims to systematically examine the role of PBL-based e-modules in facilitating students' critical thinking through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The literature review  previous studies on PBL-based e-modules across physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics education, with physics contributing the largest share. A total of 15 journal articles were selected and review based on predetermined inclusion criteria. The findings show that e-modules developed using PBL syntax consistently improve students' critical thinking ability, with N-Gain scores in the moderate, high, and effective categories. These e-modules have also been reported as very valid and very practical for secondary school learning across all four subjects. The integration of real-world problems, active learning activities, and digital features enables students to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems more effectively. Therefore, PBL-based e-modules can serve as an innovative digital teaching resource to strengthen students' critical thinking ability and support student-centered learning in the digital era
