Abstract

Surabaya City is the National Activity Center in East Java which has a heterogeneous function andserves as the center of orientation for the activities of residents living in the surrounding area. Everyday many commuters are active in Surabaya City. The highest number of commuters came fromSidoarjo Regency with 169.560 people or 40% of the total 423.109 people. However, of the totalcommuters, only 1.246 people, or 0,7% of the 169.560 commuters rely on the commuter line, whilethe number of private vehicle users is 159.190 people. This causes congestion with the movementpattern of private vehicles in the Sidoarjo region to Surabaya with a volume of 3.491 pcu/hour withan LOS of 0,90 to 1,58. One of the government's efforts to reduce the use of private vehicles is toprovide mass transportation in the form of commuter lines. This study aims to evaluate the operationalperformance and service of the commuter line Surabaya-Pasuruan route to determine which aspectsneed to be prioritized to serve optimally. The data obtained through observation and questionnaireswere reviewed using operational performance analysis (load factor, headway, travel time, waitingtime), IPA, and QFD. The results of the operational performance analysis showed various problems, namely the load factor exceeding the 60% standard carrying capacity due to Covid-19 adaptation andwaiting time exceeding the maximum standard of 20 minutes. The priority of technical responsedirectives is obtained in improving operational and service performance, namely the periodicmaintenance and inspection of railway facilities.

Abstract

Nowadays, access to drinking water services in Indonesia still not on SDG's target where 100% of society should have access to clean water. Based on data from the ministry of public works and public housing (2015), there are only 59,7 percent of Indonesians receiving piped water access through the Indonesian regional water utility company (PDAM) and only 7,474 villages (from 72.944 villages) have been supported to establish community-based organizations (HIPPAM) to manage local water supply services. Sumberrejo village is one of the villages which can manage water by establishing HIPPAM. Therefore, it is necessary to know the social capital through the social structure of Sumberrejo society. The aim of this research is to trace the social capital in Sumberrejo village through the community participation so that HIPPAM Tirta Buana can be formed. This research use SNA (Social Network Analysis) as a method to know the social network of society which is measured by density, centrality and participation level. From the calculation of SNA can be seen that the value of density, centrality, and level of community participation in Sumberrejo village is good. The bonds formed from the HIPPAM community are strong. The result of this research can be concluded that the existing social capital is a bonding social capital which can be developed by utilizing actors with high centrality value in order to deliver information related to clean water.

Abstract

The Community-Based Water Supply and Sanitation Program (PAMSIMAS) is one of the government's concrete actions to meet water needs in the community. However, implementing the PAMSIMAS program in Kebonagung Village needs more community involvement.  Therefore, this study is conducted to identify the level of community participation using frequency distribution calculations based on Arnstein's participation ladder. Data collection was conducted through a primary survey with 41 respondents using a simple random sampling method, using random respondents who would be used as research samples. The results showed that the level of participation in the PAMSIMAS program in Kebonagung Village was on the fourth ladder of participation, namely consultation with classification into tokenism, which means that the community participates in obtaining information and has the opportunity to argue for decision improvement but is often not accommodated or ignored. It is necessary to increase community participation by paying more attention to community needs so that the sustainability of the PAMSIMAS program continues.

Abstract

Cities develop as activity centers because they provide more facilities than rural areas.  After being established as the capital of Blitar Regency based on Government Regulation No. 3/2010 dated January 5, 2010, Kanigoro experienced a shift from rural to urban land use followed by an increase in population, causing the quality of the environment to decline, requiring the structuring of sustainable urban development from social, economic, and environmental aspects. This study examines the development pattern of urban settlements with an environmental perspective to build an understanding of the spatial growth process that occurs in urbanization and urban formation in a small suburban area. This research uses a quantitative approach from secondary data analysis. Initial identification of the urban regions using Arc GIS to analyze land use conditions, especially settlements, using secondary data images in 2022 to obtain land use and settlement area maps in 2022. Kanigoro Urban Settlement area develops following grid and linear patterns, following road access and service trade. The thick rural-urban mix is primarily agricultural and residential. The ecological approach of Kanigoro Urban tends to be differentiated; the population lives scattered in convenient areas that are easy to reach, and spatial expression is fragmented, including "bridgeheads" prioritized settlements near the city center, learning centrifugal style, urban functions from inside the city to the outside. Based on the land use and spatial pattern of settlement distribution, Kanigoro Urban is proposed to use the stellar/radial city model. Keywords: Land Use, Sustainability, Urban Settlements

Abstract

Abstract

Rapid land use change due to population growth and urbanization presents significant challenges to urban development. This study aims to map the groundwater level and water infiltration conditions in residential areas and investigate the conditions in the Kanigoro Urban Area. This research identifies a spatial approach to analyze satellite image maps with ARC GIS software for land cover changes that overlap with slope maps, soil types, rainfall, groundwater basins, groundwater flow patterns, and spatial pattern plan maps to obtain water infiltration conditions and building distribution. The analysis showed that water infiltration capacity has been reduced due to converting open land into built-up areas, resulting in decreased groundwater quality and quantity and an increased risk of flooding.  Based on water infiltration capacity and potential environmental impacts, this map recommends the best locations for settlement development. The results show that the water infiltration condition of most settlement areas in the Kanigoro Urban Area is critical or rather critical. Therefore, efforts must be made to increase water infiltration capacity by implementing sustainable drainage systems, developing green open spaces, and utilizing environmentally friendly technologies. This research produced a settlement direction map based on the analysis of water catchment conditions and groundwater levels that can be used by local governments when they make better and more sustainable spatial plans. Abstract

The Gerbangkertosusila area is designated as the main driver of the regional economy (primer mover) which has the criteria as an area that grows faster than other regions in a province. Sidoarjo and Gresik Regency are two areas included in the seven administrative areas of Gerbangkertosusila. Sidoarjo and Gresik have transportation systems that can support the mobility of the surrounding community, namely Sidoarjo Station and Indro Station. Sidoarjo Station and Indro Station still have performance that needs to be improved such as the size of the room area and supporting installation devices that do not meet the standards and there is still crossing in the station circulation. The purpose of this study is to determine the priority of directions for improving the operational performance of Sidoarjo Station and Indro Station. This research uses Quality Function Deployment (QFD) analysis. The priority of the direction to improve the operational performance of Sidoarjo Station and Indro Station is determined based on the value of Absolute Importance (AI). The results of the analysis show that the priority direction for improving the operational performance of Sidoarjo Station is the provision of TV as an audio-visual information medium (8,100), while the priority for the direction to improve the operational performance of Indro Station is the addition of information boards for the station area name (9,643).

Abstract

One of the busiest locations of Bukittinggi is the Jam Gadang region, which is distinguished by land use areas that are mostly used for trade, services, and tourism. This area's level of appeal is not directly correlated with the amount of urban infrastructure, such as pedestrian walkways, which are abused by shopkeepers or street vendors who set up shop along them and by motorized vehicle users who park illegally on them, endangering the safety of both pedestrians and vehicle users.  This study aims to examine the factors of familiarity and warmth in the Jam Gadang area. The warmth component is analyzed by determining the distinctiveness of the Jam Gadang area through its physical, social, and historical appeal. The familiarity component is examined by considering the features and effectiveness of on-street parking in the Jam Gadang area, as well as the number of public transportation options available. While the familiarity aspect of on-street parking will be studied using Important Performance Analysis (IPA) to assess service performance, and then followed by Quality Function Deployment (QFD) analysis to determine the priority of enhancing on-street parking performance, the warmth aspect will be analyzed using descriptive analysis. Frequency distribution analysis will be used to examine the familiarity factor of interacting public transportation users. The findings demonstrate the importance of managing the pedestrian path in the Jam Gadang area by incorporating the Omotenashi concept, which emphasizes familiarity and warmth. Physical attractiveness is highest on Ahmad Yani street, which has a total attractiveness value of 93, is characterized by the variety of building functions on this road.
