Abstract

Background: Diarrhea remains one of the environment-related diseases that poses a public health problem, particularly among elementary school-aged children. A lack of knowledge and awareness regarding diarrhea prevention can increase the risk of diarrhea in children. One preventive measure that can be taken is providing health education using innovative media such as flashcard games. Purpose: to determine the effect of flashcard games on elementary school students’ knowledge and attitudes toward diarrhea prevention. Method: This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group. The sample consisted of 102 respondents, comprising an experimental group and a control group, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test questionnaires and analyzed using the Paired T-test, Wilcoxon test, and Mann-Whitney U test. Result: The results of the study indicate that there was a significant difference in knowledge levels between before and after the intervention in the experimental group (p < 0.001). There was also a significant difference in attitudes between before and after the intervention (p < 0.001). Additionally, there was a significant difference in the change in knowledge between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.001) and a significant difference in the change in attitudes between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Flashcard games have an impact on improving elementary school students’ knowledge and attitudes toward diarrhea prevention. Suggestion: Schools are encouraged to utilize innovative educational tools, such as flashcard games, in their health education programs.Health workers are encouraged to collaborate with schools in implementing health promotion initiatives focused on preventing diarrhea.

Abstract

Urgensi penelitian adalah perlunya mengetahui model pembelajaran yang lebih efektif antara Problem Based Learning berbantuan e-modul dan LKPD untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMA pada materi sistem periodik unsur. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem periodik unsur yang dipengaruhi oleh proses pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru serta kurangnya variasi media pembelajaran, sehingga keterlibatan dan minat belajar siswa menjadi rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran yang lebih efektif antara model PBL berbantuan e-modul dan model PBL berbantuan LKPD terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem periodik unsur di SMA Negeri 14 Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 14 Kota Jambi. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling melalui purposive sampling, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model PBL berbantuan e-modul dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model PBL berbantuan LKPD. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan berdasarkan pertimbangan tertentu, seperti kesamaan karakteristik dan kemampuan awal siswa pada kedua kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen tes berupa soal esai untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji prasyarat berupa uji normalitas dan homogenitas, serta uji hipotesis menggunakan Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai tes esai akhir pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 75, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 69, sehingga menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Selain itu, hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh nilai signifikansi Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,021 < 0,05 yang menandakan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PBL berbantuan e-modul lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem periodik unsur. Oleh karena itu, guru disarankan untuk memanfaatkan e-modul sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran yang inovatif guna meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran serta hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Kondisi pembelajaran kimia hijau disekolah saat ini masih berpusat pada guru, yang mengakibatkan literasi sains dan pencapaian hasil belajar murid belum tergarap secara maksimal. Selain itu, kurangnya media ajar yang bersifat kontekstual serta berorientasi pada penyelesaian masalah menghambat siswa dalam mengaitkan konsep materi kimia hijau dengan fenomena kehidupan sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi kimia hijau berorientasi literasi sains dan hasil belajar, serta menguji kelayakan dan respon siswa. Penelitian produk ini menerapkan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Lee & Owens, meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Hasil uji validasi memperlihatkan tingkat kelayakan yang sangat tinggi, yakni 95% dari ahli media, 92% dari ahli materi, dan 88% dari guru, yang dikategorikan sangat layak. Respon siswa dalam uji coba juga tercatat sangat baik, yakni 91,52 pada uji satu-satu (one to one trial) dan 90,67% pada uji coba kelompok kecil (small group trial) yang menunjukan bahwa LKPD terbukti layak dan dapat dijadikan altenatif media pembelajaran yang efektif.

Abstract

This research was motivated by students’ low problem-solving skills in stoichiometry and the increasing integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning. Chemistry learning, particularly stoichiometry, still presents difficulties in understanding concepts and determining systematic problem-solving steps. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the effect of AI use in stoichiometry learning on the problem-solving skills of high school students in phase F. This study employed a quantitative method with a true experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of an experimental group (XI-F4), which received AI, and a control group (XI-F5), which learned without AI. Data were collected through essay tests (pretest and posttest) and a student response questionnaire. The instruments were tested beforehand to ensure validity and reliability. Data analysis included normality, homogeneity, Independent Sample t-test, and N-Gain tests using SPSS Statistics version 29 and Microsoft Excel 2025. The results showed no significant effect of AI on students’ problem-solving skills (0.152 > 0.05), although N-Gain and student responses indicated AI’s potential as a learning support tool.

Abstract

The problem is that the use of ethnoscience as a learning resource has not been optimized, so local traditions have not been scientifically reconstructed. In addition, the limited availability of contextual STEM assessment tools leaves teachers without clear guidance, making physics instruction less challenging. The objectives of this study are (a) to analyze physics concepts within the Mandi Kasai tradition, (b) to map the relationships between these concepts within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) framework, and (c) to develop context-based learning assessments relevant to local culture. The method used was qualitative research with an ethnographic approach, involving observation, interviews with 3 physics teachers, 3 traditional leaders, and 4 community members who practice the tradition, as well as documentation and a literature review. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study indicate that the mandi kasai tradition integrates various physics concepts such as heat, heat transfer, changes in the state of matter, and fluids. The resulting assessment is valid based on expert validation. A recommendation for future research is to develop an ethnoscience-based physics module.
