Abstract

The main problem cracker businesses face is the process of cutting cracker dough. Cutting crackers is currently done using a simple cutting tool, but the disadvantages are low cutting capacity, requiring much energy in operation, and low uniformity of cut results. An effort to overcome these problems is to conduct research by developing a cracker dough-cutting machine. The purpose of this research was to test the performance of an automatic cracker dough cutting machine. The independent variables are dough container motion and piece thickness, while the independent variables are piece capacity, piece uniformity, and percentage of damaged pieces. The dough container motion was varied into four treatments, namely 15, 17, 20, and 24 movements/minute. The dough piece thickness was varied into three 1, 2, and 3 mm treatments. Increasing the dough container movement per minute can significantly increase the capacity and percentage of piece damage. The largest capacity was achieved in treating 2 mm thick pieces with 24 dough container movements/minute, resulting in 2,004 pieces/hour. The uniformity of the best-cut results in the 3 mm thick cut with a value of 92.84%. The smallest percentage of piece damage is obtained in the treatment of 1 mm thick pieces with a dough container motion of 15 movements/minute, resulting in a damage percentage of 15.91%.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam pengolahan makanan tradisional bubur pedas instan adalah tahap pengeringan bahan baku. Bubur pedas instan dengan bahan baku berbagai daun-daun membutuhkan proses pengeringan yang efisien untuk menjaga aroma, warna, dan kandungan gizi daun. Berdasarkan permasalah tersebut, dilakukan pengembangan pengering tipe rotari yang sesuai untuk pengeringan bahan baku bubur pedas instan. Tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah melakukan pengembangan pengering tipe rotari serta melakukan uji performansi pengering tersebut dalam proses pengeringan bahan baku bubur pedas instan. Pengembangan pengering ini dilakukan dengan menambahkan 1 buah drum bagian dalam yang ditutup wiremesh untuk mencegah kontak langsung antara drum pemanas dan bahan baku. Data yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini mencakup laju pengeringan dan penurunan kadar air. Data tersebut diukur setiap 20 menit dengan waktu proses pengeringan 120 menit. Massa setiap bahan baku yang diuji adalah 200 gram. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa pengering tipe rotari hasil pengembangan berhasil meningkatkan efisiensi pengeringan. Proses pengeringan selama 120 menit mampu mengurangi kadar air daun pakis 78,69%, daun singkil 61,01% dan daun katuk 54,92%. Kualitas pengeringan menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik secara visual, dimana  bahan yang dikeringkan lebih hijau.

Abstract

The partner was a business unit engaged in processing instant bubur pedas with the SuperBurdas trademark. This business started in 2022 until now it has grown rapidly. The problem experienced by partners was in the process of preparing raw materials. The process of preparing raw materials, especially for vegetables, was done traditionally using human labor. This process was quite time-consuming, labor-intensive and very impractical. Based on these conditions, the implementation team offered a solution in the form of applying fern leaf weeder machine technology to partners. This service activity includes making a fern weeder machine, machine functional testing, operation and maintenance training, asset handover and activity evaluation. This activity has an impact on increasing partner knowledge and skills and increasing work capacity in the instant bubur pedas production process. The fern leaf weeder machine is able to increase the capacity of manual weeding of ferns by 0.9 kg / hour to 3.15 kg / hour when using a machine.

Abstract

Sumpit merupakan senjata tradisional suku Dayak yang saat ini telah mengalami perkembangan, terutama dalam proses produksi sumpit atau peluru sumpit. Selama ini proses produksi khususnya untuk peluru sumpit masih dilakukan secara tradisional. Kelemahan sistem produksi secara tradisional adalah kurang presisi dan tidak seragam. Upaya penyelesaian masalah dilakukan dengan mengembangkan mesin pembentuk ekor peluru sumpit menggunakan sistem pemakanan otomatis. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang bangun dan menguji kinerja mesin pembentuk ekor peluru sumpit dengan pemakanan otomatis. Tahapan penelitian meliputi proses pembuatan mesin, penulisan koding program, uji verifikasi mesin, uji kinerja mesin, pengambilan dan analisis data. Uji kinerja yang dilakukan pada mesin berupa pengukuran kapasitas produksi dan keseragama ukuran. Mesin hasil rancang bangun memiliki dimensi panjang 62 cm, lebar 60 cm, tinggi 110 cm. Mesin terdiri atas 3 motor yaitu motor pemutar ekor peluru menggunakan motor listrk 125 watt, motor pemotong menggunakan motor listrk 125 watt dan motor penggerak eretan menggunakan motor stepper. Pergerakan motor dikontrol oleh mikrokontroler Arduino UNO. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa mesin pembentuk ekor peluru sumpit memiliki kapasitas produksi rata-rata 18,10 butir/jam. Hasil pengujian keseragaman ukuran menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata keseragaman dimensi A dan B masing-masing sebesar 98,93% dan 98,94%, sedangkan dimensi C dan D mencapai 97,85% dan 96,89%.

Abstract

The presence of fountains in public areas can create a comfortable atmosphere for everyone. Green spaces can provide ecological and aesthetic benefits, so fountains that combine ecological and aesthetic functions were essential. Based on this, research was conducted to test the performance of the water flow control system and nozzle movement control in a fountain integrated with automatic plant irrigation. Water flow testing was conducted by setting the dimmer at angles of 20°, 25°, 30°, 35°, 40°, 45°, 50°, 55°, 60°, and 65°. Nozzle movement testing was carried out by giving servo motor movement commands at angles of 50° – 130° and gradually adding an angle of 4° for each test. The data collected in the study were water flow and nozzle movement accuracy. Based on the test results, the minimum flow rate recorded was 0.141 l/s at an angle of 20°, the maximum flow rate reached 0.775 l/s at an angle of 65°, while the average flow rate from the tests was 0.490 l/s. The nozzle movement system showed an average accuracy of 98.84%, indicating that the system performs very well. The test results showed that the water discharge control and nozzle movement systems were able to produce controlled water jets, both in terms of flow rate and direction.
