Abstract

In the real life people cannot be separated from requirement to uselanguage for a communication. However not all utterances incommunication are clear, there are some utterances are implied.Speakers usually imply the meaning of an utterance when it isinsinuating another. This condition can be found in “The Devil WearsPrada” film. The design of this study used descriptive qualitativemethod because in this study the data are taken from statements andutterances in conversation in “The Devil Wears Prada” film. The dataof these researches were the sentences, speeches, dialogues used by thecharacters in the film. After finding and understanding the implicaturesexpressed in the film, the writer decided and identified the types ofimplicatures that mostly expressed by the speaker in the film. The writerfound implicatures used in “The Devil Wears Prada” film, they aregeneralized and particularized conversational implicature. In this filmmost of speakers used particularized conversational implicature.Speakers produce generalized conversational implicature when no specialknowledge in the context to calculate the additional conveyed meaning, itmeans that the participants in communication should obey thecooperative principle and the four maxim and speakers usedparticularized conversational implicature when they flout maxims ofcooperative principle because when speakers flout these maximsintentionally, they must observe the cooperative principle on deeperlevel or the hearers have difficulty to understand their attention. Bydoing this research, the writer finally understands what are implicaturesand its type. She also understands the reason of the speakers produceimplied meanings in their conversations. In the last, the writergives the suggestion to the next researchers who interested in doingresearch in the same area they must make it be more complete analysisand look for the other unique conversation in other situation to give anew implicatures style. Keywords: Implicature, Utterance, Particularized, Generalized, Context.

Abstract

Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) is a member of thioredoxin superfamily that is secreted in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in mammalian cells. PDI catalyzes disulfide bond formation, reduction, or isomerization of newly synthesized proteins in the lumen of the RE. PDIA4 is a member of the PDI family, which is also expressed in the mammary gland. Low expression of PDIA4 probably as a result of the stress of RE in hypoxic conditions. These conditions will enhance the ability of tumor cells in mammary tissue to divide aggressively and metastasize. A total of 61 breast cancer patients aged 23−90 years (60 women and 1 man) in Jakarta, Indonesia have participated in this study after signing the informed consent letter. The diagnosis of metastasis is confirmed by the examination of bone scanning. Measurement of PDIA4 concentration is performed by the quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using a commercial kits. Based on the examination of the bone scanning, there were 23 (62.5%) subjects with metastatic and 38 (37.5%) subjects non-metastatic. The mean of age of the subjects with metastatic were significantly higher than non-metastatic subjects (p=0.028), which is 51.4 (45.9–56.8) and 44.2 (40.4–48.0). The median of PDIA4 concentrations in serum of subjects with metastatic, i.e. 7.7 (1.0–37.2) ng/ml was significantly lower than non-metastatic subjects (p=0.044), i.e. 9.4 (2.2–69. 6) ng/mL. The concentration of PDIA4 in serum of breast cancer patients with metastatic were significantly lower than non-metastatic patients. It shows that the concentration of PDIA4 have decreased in incidence of metastatic breast cancer.

Abstract

Academic data processing is very important for schools because it can affect the learning process. This needs to be considered by the SDIT Harapan Ummah manager because currently data management is still done manually, namely recording data in the ledger, and reports that are also recorded in the ledger. As a result, problems often occur, including recording errors or data loss because every year there is more and more data so it is very difficult to find old data. For this reason, this research will build an Academic Data Processing Information System that can assist academic data processing, ensure data security, and make reports so that learning activities can run more effectively and efficiently. This research is a qualitative research with a software engineering approach. Collecting data by using observation, interview, documentation, and literature study techniques. With this research method to build an Academic Data Processing Information System that processes registration data, attendance, tuition fees, teachers, and assessment of learning outcomes, as well as reports
