Abstract

Indonesia is an agrarian country because it has abundant agricultural products, one of its mainstay is corn. Besides rice, corn is one of the staple foods consumed by Indonesian people, but only the corn’s grain are used in corn. The cornhusk and corn cobs are usually thrown away or just burned because they are not used. One of the way to process corncobs waste is by chopped corncobs to be used as animal feed. Corncobs that have been separated from the grains of corn were chopped using a chopper machine (Chopper). All this time, these machines have been widely used by society. However, it still raises problems related to the chopper machine. This study uses the observed parameters, namely the enumeration work capacity, fuel consumption, the uniformity of the enumeration results, and the yield. Based on the result of the study, the effect of treatment on yield was not significantly different, with an average yield value of 94.89%. The highest chopping results of corn cobs is at high rotational speed of 1245 rpm with an engine working capacity of 332.88 kg/hour. The lowest fuel consumption is at a rotating speed of 890 rpm with a fuel requirement of 0.74 liters/hour. The effect of treatment on the distribution of chopped results was not significantly different, with the average value for fine chopping 67.29% and 32.71% for coarse chopping. Based on the ANOVA test, the effect of treatment on fuel productivity was not significantly different, with an average fuel productivity value of 301.61 kg/liter. Keywords: Chopper, Chopper Machine, Corn, Corncobs, Rotating Speed.

Abstract

Continuous consumption of fossil fuels can cause fuel prices to rise and potentially cause shortages. One alternative renewable energy that can replace fossil fuels is biomass pellets. The use of manual biomass pellet stoves has constraints in controlling the amount of biomass burned, the amount of heat released by the stove, combustion efficiency, safety, and wasteful use of pellets. The purpose of this study was to develop a biomass stove using an automatic control system as a substitute for gas or electric stoves. This stove has the same principle and working method as gas stoves in general, but the pellet fuel is solid. This technology controls the temperature through the integration of temperature sensors, fan blowers, screw feeders, and heat insulators automatically. The results showed that the stove temperature value with the coefficient of determination value from sensor calibration 1 was R2 = 0.9945, sensor calibration 2 obtained the value R2 = 0.9956, the R2 value in sensor calibration 3 was 0.9946, and sensor calibration 4 obtained the value R2 = 0.9927. In the system response test, the device was able to reach a temperature of 300°C in 450 to 780 seconds. Stability testing for setting points 100°C, 200°C, and 300°C were 0.98, 0.82, and 0.53, respectively. The accuracy of the device was 92%. In the execution speed test, it took 2.5 to 4 seconds for the pellets to enter the fuel furnace.

Abstract

The ongoing strategic competition between China and the United States raises concerns about potential conflicts in the Indo-Pacific. However, achieving long-term stability in the region through cooperative security frameworks is essential. The realization of a peaceful region that fosters mutually beneficial cooperation is a non-negotiable goal in positive international relations. This article explores the possibility of achieving this in the Indo-Pacific from an International Relations perspective, particularly through the concepts of collective security, arms control, and confidence-building measures (CBMs). It argues that implementing these three concepts will lead to sustainable peace (perpetual peace), ultimately making the region a platform for mutually beneficial cooperation. A qualitative method is employed in this study, with data emanating from relevant literature and authoritative sources. While challenges such as military competition and geopolitical tensions persist, shared commitment to multilateral mechanisms can mitigate risks. The key factor in achieving this goal is a shared commitment to maintaining the process.  KEYWORDS Collective Security; Confidence-Building Measures; Indo-Pacific; Regional Peace

Abstract

To increase supervision and control over building construction permits, the Department of Human Settlements, Spatial Planning and Land Affairs has implemented a Territorial patrol policy, but the factis that in the field, many buildings do not yet have IMBs and the buildings do not comply with the location, designation and use that have been determined based on the regulations that have reached Currently it is still standing strong without any demolition. The aim of this research is to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of territorial patrols by the land and spatial planning work creation department in controlling buildings without permits in the Cilandak sub-district, South Jakarta Administrative City. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The results of the research are that the implementation of territorial patrols by the land and spatial planning work creation sub-department in controlling buildings without permits in the Cilandak sub-district, South Jakarta Administrative City has not been carried out effectively because the objectives have not been realized because several buildings without permits are still found that remain standing and there has been no enforcement action, The response of patrol officers is quite long in processing and handling reports related to the community, the frequencyofterritorialpatrolactivitiesisrarelycarriedoutandseems passive, and the community is less satisfied with the results of territorial patrol activities and considers officers to be less fair and firm in their actions. building control. The results of achieving territorial patrol activities should be maximized because after the existence of this territorial patrol policy, it has had an impact on reducing the number of buildings without permits in Cilandak sub- district.

Abstract

Rice is the main commodity processed into rice, as a staple food for the people of Indonesia. Pests and diseases can cause decreased production to crop failure. The method used by farmers is pest control by spraying chemical pesticides. However, chemical pesticides have serious impacts on plants, increased immunity for pests, increased chemical residues in crops that threaten human health, and environmental pollution. The objective of this study is to design an integrated high-tech trap that is effective, efficient, cost-effective, durable, safe, environmentally friendly (zero-emission), and low in operational costs, with the ultimate goal of enhancing farmers' income. This automatic pest trap embeds a microcontroller, infrared sensor, fan and solar panel. Observations were made on 4 tools, namely complete lures, yellow LED, lights and pheromones. Based on the observations, Scotinophara coarctata and Nilaparvata lugens were identified as the most commonly trapped insect pests in rice fields. The insect's fall speed was fast, namely 1 minute 4 seconds with good stability. Insect readings came in higher on the complete lure due to the combination of three lures, each of which has its own insect attraction. The effectiveness of insect capture on the complete automatic insect trap was the highest at 84.47%.
