Abstract

ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia. This condition can lead to microvascular complications such as diabetic nephropathy. Diabetic nephropathy occurs due to uncontrolled blood glucose levels, resulting in the kidneys working harder to filter blood. Increased blood urea and creatinine levels indicate decreased kidney function. This study aimed to examine the correlation between HbA1c levels and creatinine levels in patients with diabetes mellitus and hypertension. This study was an observational and analytical study using a purposive sampling method at the Regional Health Laboratory of Magetan Regency. The sample in this study was 88 patients with diabetes mellitus and hypertension who participated in the Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) at the Magetan Regency Community Health Center between January and April 2025. HbA1c examination was performed using the Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA) method, while creatinine levels were measured using the Jaffe method. Statistical analysis was performed using a non-parametric correlation test (Spearman test). The study results showed a moderately positive correlation between HbA1c and creatinine levels in patients with diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Higher HbA1c levels are associated with higher creatinine levels, indicating a risk of kidney damage. Therefore, regular check-ups, regular medication consumption, and a healthy lifestyle are highly recommended to prevent complications. ABSTRAK Diabetes melitus adalah masalah metabolik kronis dengan ciri hiperglikemia. Kondisi ini mampu menimbulkan komplikasi mikrovaskuler seperti nefropati diabetik. Nefropati diabetik terjadi akibat kadar glukosa darah yang tidak terkendali, akibatnya dalam penyaringan darah, ginjal bekerja lebih ekstra. Meningkatnya kadar ureum dan kreatinin dalam darah menjadi indikasi turunnya fungsi ginjal. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk melihat korelasi antara kadar HbA1c dengan kadar kreatinin pada pengidap diabetes melitus disertai hipertensi. Studi ini tergolong observasional analitik dengan metode purposive sampling di UPTD Laboratorium Kesehatan Daerah Kabupaten Magetan. Sampel dalam studi ini sebanyak 88 pengidap diabetes melitus yang disertai hipertensi pada peserta Program Pengelolaan Penyakit Kronis (Prolanis) di Puskesmas Kabupaten Magetan selama pada bulan Januari-April 2025. Pemeriksaan HbA1c dilakukan menggunakan metode Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA), sedangkan kadar kreatinin diukur dengan metode Jaffe. Analisis statistik dilakukan dengan uji korelasi non parametrik (uji Spearman). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi bermakna yang positif sedang antara HbA1c dengan kadar kreatinin pada penderita diabetes melitus disertai hipertensi. Peningkatan kadar HbA1c, semakin tinggi pula kadar kreatinin, yang mengindikasikan risiko kerusakan ginjal. Oleh karena itu, kontrol rutin, konsumsi obat teratur, dan pola hidup sehat sangat dianjurkan untuk mencegah komplikasi.

Abstract

Kemampuan dan pembudayaan literasi sudah menjadi persoalan yang harus diperhatikan dewasa ini. Leterasi bukan sekedar pengetahuan tentang tulis baca tetapi lebih daripada itu menyangkut pemahaman terhadap makna bacaan dan kemampuan menulis untuk mengungkapkan ide-ide yang ingin dituangkan dan dapat dipahamani oleh pembaca, (Yamin, 2021). Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan pembudayaan literasi kepada peserta didik maka dilakukan pelatihan kepada guru-guru supaya mereka bisa membimbing peserta didiknya dalam memahami dan meningkatkan pembudayaan literasi di sekolah. Tujuan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru-guru dalam memahami pengetahuan tentang literasi dan pembudayaan literasisi, sehingga guru-guru mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa dan dapat pula mengarahkan siswa untuk membiasakan membaca dan menulis sebagai kebiasaan hidup sehari-hari. Maksudnya, membaca dan menulis menjadi budaya dalam kehidupan mereka sejak usia sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 2 Kota Jambi, dengan peserta seluruh guru di sekolah tersebut. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan beberapa tahap, yakni identifikasi kebutuhan mitra, sosialisasi dan pendampingan, pelatihan dan pembimbingan, dan evaluasi kegiatan deangan cara pemberian angket di akhir kegiatan. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan literasi guru-guru di SMPN 2 Kota Jambi. Kemudian, guru-guru juga mampu membimbing pelaksanaan kegiatan literasi di sekolah. Sehingga kegiatan literasi terhadap siswa di sekolah tersebut lancar dan bermakna. Artinya, kegiatan literasi di sekolah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa untuk membaca, menulis, menerjemahkan (memaknai bacaan) secara kritis, dan meningkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Brazilein is one of the secondary sappan wood metabolites which can be used empirically as an antivirus. The SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) glycoproteins play significant roles in attaching and entering the virus into the host cell. This study aims to predict the antiviral activity and pharmacokinetic properties of brazilein of the sappan wood against the in-silico SARS-CoV-2 S glycoproteins with vitamin C as the reference compound. Molegro Virtual Docker 5.5 was used to predict antiviral activity by docking process. SARS-CoV-2 S glycoprotein with NAG ligand available in Protein Data Bank (PDB) (PDB ID: 7C01) was the receptor used. The pkCSM online tool was used to predict the pharmacokinetic properties and toxicity of brazilein. Data were analyzed on the target receptors by comparing the docking bond energies between NAG, brazilein, and vitamin C. The smaller the ligands’ bond energy to the target receptor, the more stable the bonds are. The bond energy of NAG, brazilein, and vitamin C was -59.2864 kcal/mol, -65.8911 kcal/mol, and -53.9093 kcal/mol, respectively. These results suggested that brazilein has a greater capacity as an antivirus compared to NAG and vitamin C. In silico test using the pkCSM online tool demonstrated that brazilein had strong pharmacokinetic properties and relatively low toxicity.

Abstract

Kidney failure is caused by a permanent decline in kidney function and requires renal replacement therapy, one of which is Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD). This study aimed to determine the relationship between albumin concentrations and sodium and potassium concentrations in CAPD patients. The study was carried out between January to May 2022. Cross-sectional research methodology is used in this study. It included 60 chronic kidney failure patients who had CAPD as therapy at PHC Surabaya Hospital. Then, patients were divided into three groups with an age interval of 40-50 years, 51-60 years, and 61-70 years in. The results of grouping CAPD patients according to the characteristics based on the age of CAPD patients aged 61-70 years had low albumin concentrations and low sodium concentrations A total of 12 people (66.67%), patients with large CAPD aged 51-60 years, had low albumin and potassium concentrations, namely 11 people (61.11%). CAPD patients aged 51-60 years mostly had low albumin and sodium concentrations in 13 people (72.22%). the conclusion is that in patients with renal failure on CAPD therapy, there is a decrease in albumin and sodium-potassium concentrations due to peritonitis (inflammation) which is associated with a measurable excess of fluid (overhydration) which causes more dilute sodium, causing hyponatremia and hypokalemia.
