Abstract

Soft skills development requires the use of education media and forums. While storytelling may be used in competitions, media classes do not use it as a teaching media. Storytelling in the classroom hasn't been used to its fullest potential. English language proficiency can be improved through the use of digital storytelling, specifically on YouTube, by students. The study is intended to achieve similarities and discrepancies in the importance of the English-language achievement with general English and the implementation of digital storytelling. This study may be graded as an experimental investigation and classroom action research. This study employed cross-sectional research with independent speaking pre-test and post-test for experimental and control group design. Talking with storytelling therapy triggering different strategies is advised in experimental classes. It uses intervention research to change people's "talking," "doing" and "related practices". For the control group data combined with T-tests findings, a value of 0.417 has been achieved with an average value of -10.97436. In achieving speaking test outcomes, one may interpret that the treatment group has a more important meaning than the control group. The outcome of this study show that storytelling learning can help students at vocational health Level 2, more than the general English learning, achieve the high speaking achievement. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to put to the test a self-efficacy survey of four language skills (listening, speaking, writing, and reading) using the Jigsaw Learning Strategy. This study was a descriptive qualitative study in which 20 question items about self-efficacy and four language skills in English mastery for health vocational students are tested. This qualitative study was carried out in two classrooms with 39 health vocational students each from January 2021 to August 2022. Two classrooms were set up for the lecture group, one for Jigsaw and one for non-Jigsaw. Self-efficacy questionnaires were used to gather information. In the learning group, there were fourteen sessions totaling two hours, during which each class learned the same practice and comprehension material. Four language skills were worked on by the students. The questionnaire data was analyzed by the product moment to determine validity, and all were found to be valid with results greater than the value of the r table and less than 0.025. The reliability test results on questionnaire data revealed that the data were reliable or consistent. The Keiser-Meyers-Oklin Self-Efficacy Measure in the group of questions for all questionnaire items could be considered appropriate. The Measure of Sampling Adequacy results were also used to determine whether the self-efficacy variable was large enough for further analysis. The communality value was greater than 0.03, indicating a positive relationship between variables. Descriptive analysis, jigsaw classes respond better to self-efficacy surveys than non-jigsaw classes, implying increased self-confidence in the English learning process. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how much students at Health Polytechnic benefit from using Jigsaw techniques to better understand written English. In order to effectively communicate and understand medical principles and procedures, having a strong grasp of the English language is crucial in the healthcare industry. The study looked at how well 78 students from Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya learned using a Reading Proficiency test, traditional methods, and pre- and post-test experimental designs. It also used T-tests to look at the results. for a subset of the larger topic, which improves the group's ability to solve problems and make informed decisions. When students from different backgrounds have mastered a subject, they get together to share what they've learned and help each other out. The use of a group strategy not only leads to better overall comprehension, but also to the growth of interpersonal and communicative skills. The purpose of this research is to determine if teaching English using the Jigsaw method is effective for students at Health Polytechnics. The study will rely on statistical methods. Abstract

As people age, the physical state of the human body will gradually deteriorate due to a decrease in the quantity of cells present, leading to a gradual reduction in functionality referred to as the aging process. In elderly humans (aged more than 60 years) excessive cholesterol levels and high blood pressure are one of the causes of diseases such as heart disease which has been recognized by WHO as the number one cause of death in the world. The buildup of fatty deposits on the linings of blood vessels has the potential to lead to obstructions within the blood vessels. The objective of this initiative is to enhance understanding regarding the hazards associated with cholesterol. This outreach effort took place in July 2023, conducted at Posyandu Abiyoso, Surabaya Health Polytechnic. The activity consists of several processes 1). conducting a survey of the location of the Abiyoso posyandu of the Surabaya Health Polytechnic, 2). Opening registration and taking participants' personal data, 3) conducting participant health interviews, 4). Checking cholesterol levels and blood pressure of participants. From the community service activities carried out, it was found that 42 of the 65 (64.6%) participants who took part in the examination at the integrated service post had high cholesterol levels, and 60 of the 65 (92.3%) participants had high blood pressure or hypertension. By conducting health checks on cholesterol levels and blood pressure, there is an expectation that the society will come to realize and comprehend. the dangers of hypertension and hypercholesterolemia so that the community can prevent the occurrence of sustainable diseases.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Typhoid fever is an infectious disease that remains prevalent in Indonesia and often presents with non-specific clinical symptoms, necessitating supportive diagnostic examinations. Two commonly used parameters are leukocyte count and anti-Salmonella typhi IgM serological testing using the rapid test method. This study aims to determine the correlation between leukocyte count and the results of the anti-Salmonella IgM rapid test in patients suspected of having typhoid fever as a diagnostic aid. This research employed an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 32 out of 45 suspected typhoid fever patients were selected through purposive sampling at RSUD Dr. Sayidiman Magetan. Leukocyte counts were measured using an automated hematology analyzer, and IgM testing was performed using the immunochromatographic rapid test method. The results showed that 59.4% of patients had leukopenia, and only 21.9% tested positive for IgM. Spearman’s rank correlation test yielded a significance value (p) = 0.027 and a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.391, indicating a moderate and statistically significant correlation between the two variables. In conclusion, there is a significant positive correlation between leukocyte count and anti-Salmonella IgM results, suggesting that both tests can serve as complementary diagnostic tools for the early diagnosis of typhoid fever.

Abstract

A total of 70% of laboratory test results form the basis for medical decision-making. Approximately 61% of all laboratory errors are caused by pre-analytical procedures, including the length of time the test is delayed. K3EDTA is the anticoagulant used in this study. One important test for making a diagnosis is the assessment of erythrocyte indices. In this study, EDTA blood samples were evaluated immediately and after delays of two, four, and six hours to determine the success rate of erythrocyte index testing (MCV, MCH, and MCHC). This study used an analytical design and observational research methodology. Purposive sampling was used to identify 45 sixth-semester students from the Diploma Three program in Medical Laboratory Technology at the Surabaya Ministry of Health Polytechnic as the research population. This study was conducted in May 2025. The research data consisted of primary data obtained directly from laboratory test results. The data analysis techniques used were the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, and parametric One-Way ANOVA test. The results of this study showed that delaying the EDTA blood sample examination did not affect the erythrocyte index values, with a success rate of 100%.
