Abstract

Three small businesses, Andre Bakery, Handyani, and Arlin Bakery, located in Tlanakan village, Tlanakan sub-district, kab. Pakistan. Considering that the heads of families from each partner work as construction workers, the existence of these three companies is absolutely necessary because they can meet the needs of this simple family. However, it is very unfortunate lately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, partner income has decreased drastically, reaching 30–50%. Partner issues will be handled with an approach that combines intensive counseling with the transfer of knowledge and technology, which includes good manufacturing practice (GMP) training, food safety counseling, product halal counseling, strengthening business management through P-IRT registration and halal products, product packaging improvements. , and the provision of production support facilities. This activity is beneficial for the three partners. The results of this PKM activity include the publication of activities in the form of improving partner production facilities, implementing partner technical guidance, and scientific articles on PKM service activities. Abstract

From the experience of the researchers while teaching the English Mathematics course, it was found that the main obstacle faced by students in communicating in English lies in their minimal vocabulary of English mathematical concepts. Departing from this fact, this study has two objectives, namely to find out how students respond to the application of the mnemonic method in English mathematics courses and the second is to find out students' speaking abilities, especially in remembering new vocabulary obtained from the learned mathematical concepts. Based on research data both in the form of written tests and interviews, it can be concluded that overall it is of good value. Student responses to the application of the mnemonic method in Mathematics English courses on the topic of Statistics and Opportunity are positive. Meanwhile, the students' English speaking ability in the application of the mnemonic method on the topic of Statistics and Opportunity includes 5 aspects as follows: for grammar mastery, a score of 20% of students obtained 3 points or very good category was obtained, for the vocabulary aspect, a score of 64% was obtained, which received a very good score. good, 48% who scored very well also in the comprehension mastery aspect. As for the fluency and pronunciation aspects, 40% were in the good category and 48% were in the very good category, respectively.

Abstract

Technological advances have had a significant impact on society. Internet is one type of technology used to communicate. The fact that social media is used on the Internet is one of its benefits. The use of social media is growing rapidly nowadays. Social media can be utilized to increase knowledge if handled properly and effectively. Students are given the option to choose the information that best suits their needs. Also, it might help to become more proficient at making comments and sharing ideas on social media. This study uses a qualitative methodology by using sentences from the results of the Student Questionnaire of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program, FKIP Madura University as data and sources of research data. Techniques for collecting data through surveys and analyzing them qualitatively. When students share views on social media while maintaining their belief in Religious values. Aspects of faith, morals, and worship are one of the teachings of religion that must be instilled in humans. Through the educational process and teaching materials, students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program, FKIP Madura University, are able to bring up aqidah and ethics. Religious principles are formally communicated through the integration and educational process. Views and behavior of other individuals that have been used in the use of social media by students. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe student's ability to explain the concept of solid figure's volume reviewed from visualizer-verbalizer cognitive style using the Cognitive Style Test developed by Mendelson Thorson. This study used a qualitative approach and the data collection technique was carried out by giving tests about the concept of  solid figure's volume and interviews. The indicators used to measure students' ability to explain the concept of solid figure's volume are, (1) Providing information in accordance with mathematical concepts (2) Information systematically organized with the aim of showing a mathematical relationship (3) using and selecting procedures or operations certain exactly. The results showed that both visualizer subjects (SV) and verbalizer subjects (SB) were only able to fulfill the first indicator in explaining the concept, both of them just can mention the formula of pyramid's volume. Meanwhile, to explain the concept of ball's volume, SV does not meet the third indicator, SV did not use the right mathematical procedures or operations. Both subjects showed characteristics that matched their cognitive style, namely SV was more flexible in providing explanations through pictures and SB preferred to make explanations in the form of descriptions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties of students in the geometry transformation course in terms of visualizer and verbalizer cognitive style, especially in the concept of mapping a transformation. The research subjects were students of the transformation geometry class at the Mathematics Education Study Program at the University of Madura. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the difficulties of students with cognitive visualizer and verbalizer styles tended to be the same, which included (1) difficulty visualizing the definition of a transformation (2) difficulty in proving a transformation (3) difficulty determining the result area of a mapping. The Visualizer subject answers all the questions given and tries to describe the definition of the transformation given, although it is still not precise, it is better than the subject verbalizer. Verbalizer subjects, who are essentially easier to process information in the form of writing, are constrained by the arrangement of mathematical sentences and mathematical symbols which make the subject reluctant to try to answer questions. From the results of the analysis it was also revealed that the causes of the subject's difficulties were influenced by several aspects, namely, lack of mastery of basic geometric concepts, weak of reasoning ability and difficulties in mathematical operationsKeywords: Student Difficulties, Transformation Geometry, Visualizer Verbalizer Cognitive Style

Abstract

Peningkatan mutu peserta didik menjadi tujuan utama dalam pembelajaran, peningkatan ini tentunya perlu ditopang oleh adanya kualitas pembelajaran yang baik. Namun berdasarkan berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan, masih banyak guru yang belum mampu meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang dilakukannya. Pelatihan Lesson study menjadi salah satu strategi yang dapat digunakan dalam rangka peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah : 1) guru dan kepala sekolah memahami pembelajaran berbasis konsep; 2) guru dan kepala sekolah memahami penerapan lesson study; dan 3) Guru mampu mengimplementasikan lesson study. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan PkM ini adalah: 1) Analisis kebutuhan; 2) Workshop; 3) Penyamaan Persepsi terkait LS dan 4) Pendampingan dan Pelaksanaan LS. Hasil kegiatan PkM ini menunjukkan bahwa para guru dapat berkolaborasi dengan teman sejawatnya untuk membuat lesson design, serta dapat melaksanakan pembelajaran di kelas dengan mengedepankan pembelajaran yang aktif, kreatif, efektif, inovatif, dan menyenangkan bagi siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of ChatGPT-based Research-Based Learning on students' creative thinking skills in problem solving. A mixed-methods approach was used with an experimental design involving two groups: an experimental group that used ChatGPT in research-based learning, and a control group that followed traditional learning. Data were collected through creative thinking tests given before and after the intervention, and analyzed using an Independent Samples T-Test. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in creative thinking skills with a higher average posttest score compared to the control group. The t-test showed a p-value of <0.001, which indicates a very significant difference between the two groups. This study confirms that ChatGPT-based Research-Based Learning is effective in stimulating students' creativity in problem solving, as well as making a positive contribution to the development of critical and innovative thinking skills. Thus, the use of ChatGPT in higher education can be a relevant and effective learning model for improving students' creative thinking skills.
