Abstract

Lean implementation focuses on reducing waste and improving efficiency in business operations, a strategy widely embraced in developed countries. However, its adoption among Indonesian SMEs is limited and lacks adequate research. Understanding how lean practices can effectively enhance competitiveness and productivity in this vital sector of the Indonesian economy is crucial. Despite its widespread use in Western countries, there's a noticeable gap in research specifically examining how lean principles are applied within SMEs, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. Furthermore, there's a clear scarcity of studies detailing the current state of lean implementation in Indonesia, particularly within SMEs. This study conducted a systematic literature review (SLR), thoroughly searching peer-reviewed journals and conference papers. We identified 441 articles related to lean practices in Indonesia, with 40 focusing specifically on SMEs. Through this review, we uncovered key themes and trends in lean implementation, offering valuable insights into current practices and highlighting areas for future research. This paper represents one of the first comprehensive SLRs exploring lean practices within Indonesian SMEs. It aims to deepen our understanding of how lean methodologies impact SME operations in Indonesia and provides practical guidance for researchers and practitioners interested in lean implementation. By bridging these research gaps, we hope to contribute to the body of knowledge on lean implementation in Indonesian SMEs, suggesting strategies for effective implementation and paving the way for further study in this important area.

Abstract

This study aims to design a warehouse management information system by implementing the 5S method to address the stock checking and item arrangement disorganization at PT Total Teknologi Rekacipta. Currently, the company conducts stock recording manually, resulting in poorly arranged items, ungrouped spare parts, lengthy stock-checking processes, and frequent data duplication. The 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) is applied to organize the warehouse area, supported by developing a web-based inventory information system using the Waterfall methodology. The system is developed using PHP and MySQL, featuring data input, storage location tracking, and photo documentation. Black box testing results show that all functional system requirements are met. This system enhances stock management efficiency and accelerates company decision-making processes. The implementation reduced stock checking time from 1–2 days to less than 1 minute and eliminated data duplication. While 5S and web-based inventory are well-known approaches, this study contributes a practical implementation model by combining warehouse organization through 5S as a preparatory step before digitalization. This stepwise approach can serve as a reference for small and medium enterprises seeking to improve their physical warehouse management and digital stock control practices.

Abstract

ImplementingAgile Governance in Regional Government Organization (RGO) is crucial for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public services. However, its implementation still faces various challenges such as rigid and slow bureaucracy, lack of cross-functional collaboration, suboptimal utilization of digital technology, and human resources who are not accustomed to Agile work patterns. This research is designed to develop implementation strategies forAgile Governance at Regional Government Organization (RGO). The aim is to accelerate the transformation towards a moreAgile Governance in Regional Government Organization (RGO). The research methodology adopts the MEAD (Macroergonomics Analysis and Design) macroergonomics approach that integrates human factors, technology, and work organization. In evaluating the current conditions and the importance of performance indicators, a survey was conducted using a questionnaire validated by the Content Validity Index (CVI) and analyzed using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). The first priority results will be used to design strategies and Key Performance Indicators for each of the proposed strategies. The research findings indicate a gap between the current conditions and the importance levels of Agile Governance performance aspects. IPA identified several priority areas that require improvement, including career development and training, risk management, transparency, job suitability, adequacy of work facilities and employee welfare. Based on these findings, strategies and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were formulated to enhance the implementation of Agile Governance in Regional Government Organization (RGO). Abstract

PT IB. Sumberdaya Development is one of LPG agent partners of PT Pertamina. This company is assigned to distribute 3 kg LPG. The LPG shipment is carried out from Monday to Saturday. The shipment goes to 66 depots using agent vehicle which are registered in PT Pertamina. From the preliminary study, there were problems which related to the long-distance shipment, and the limitation of transportation and capacity. In this research, the shipment routes of 3 kg LPG in PT IB is determined. Sumberdaya Development problems consist of the distance of the travel, the time of travel, and optimal transportation cost. Based on Clarke and Wright Savings Matrix algorithm, by considering the vehicle capacity, the distance can be minimized. The point of this algorithm is calculating the saving by measuring the available reduction of distance and time. It is done by linking the existing depots and making a route which is based on the largest saving value of the distance from the agent to the destination depot. Each route is optimized by WIN QSB software by using Branch and Bound method. A program to facilitate the determination of shipment routes by using PHP programming language is designed. The proposed route for the 3kg LPG shipment is 762.35km with 33.58% saving, and the proposed time is 2929 minutes with 15.27% saving. The shipment schedule is designed from Monday to Saturday day to Saturday with each of 7 routes. This is better than the actual route used by the company.

Abstract

Risk is a possibility of the occurrence that may affect the achievement of objectives. Risk can give positive or negative effect. One of the jobs that have a high risk is firefighter job. Furthermore, a firefighter who are disciplined, responsible, and good in team work, they must be given a reward for their motivation. Therefore, the compensation that they get is equal with the potential risk and working achievement. The compensation of the risk and achievement is included in the extra payment of dangerous work (hazard pay) and bonus based on working achievement of an employee (merit pay). Comparing to the old system, the compensation system will increase the firefighters' income from Rp 900.000 to Rp 1.297.280 every month. The addition will also increase the budget of Damkar from Rp 550.800.000 to Rp 793.935.156 every year.
