Abstract

This article discusses the results of the reading text development on the small group stage for reading activities on the school literacy movements in mathematics learning with the futsal game context, which is currently being enjoyed by the people, especially among students. This research used a design research method whose type is development studies. The evaluation flow at the prototyping stage uses the formative study flow with the stages of self-evaluation, expert review and one-to-one, small group, and field test. The research subjects were 7th-grade students in one of the junior high schools in Kabupaten Karawang. Documentation, questionnaires, and interviews are ways to collect data in this study. This study has produced the reading texts that are used for the school literacy movement program with the futsal context on practical mathematics learning.

Abstract

School Literacy Movement, one of the government's efforts to optimize the ability of students in terms of literacy, needs support from every circle; one of them is from researches in the educational field. This research aims to develop reading texts in a futsal context that will be presented in students’ worksheet with valid and practical criteria that will have a potential effect in mathematics learning. This research is using the design research method with a development studies type that consists of three main steps, such as preliminary, prototyping, and assessment with an evaluation plot formative study that used in a prototyping step, including the self-evaluation, expert review and one-to-one, small group, and field test. The research subjects are the students in 7th grade in one of Junior High School in Karawang. There are some steps taken in the data collection process, such as documentation, walkthrough, questionnaire, test, and interview. According to the data analysis, it can be concluded that this research has been producing a product in the form of thirteen reading the text for School Literacy Movement invalid and practical mathematics learning that will have a potential effect for the students’ learning result in the mathematics learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMA dalam menyelesaikan soal Program For International Student Assessment (PISA). Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 12 siswa kelas X IPA yang berusia 15 tahun di salah satu SMA yang ada di kabupaten Bandung tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Adapun indikator kemampuan literasi matematis dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada indikator proses literasi matematis yaitu 1) Merumuskan situasi nyata secara matematika, 2) Menggunakan konsep, fakta, prosedur, dan penalaran matematika, dan 3) Menafsirkan, menerapkan dan mengevaluasi hasil matematika. Hasil penelitian diperoleh masih ada siswa yang belum memenuhi indikator proses literasi matematis dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA diantaranya terdapat 10 orang siswa yang mampu memenuhi proses literasi matematis pertama dengan presentase sebesar 83,33%, 8 orang siswa yang memenuhi proses literasi matematis kedua dengan presentase 66,67% serta hanya 3 orang siswa yang mampu memenuhi proses literasi matematis ketiga dengan presentase sebesar 25%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan antara habits of mind dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMP pada mata pelajaran matematika. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dan metode yang dipilih adalah correlational research. Sampel penelitian yang terpilih adalah siswa dari kelas IX E di SMP Negeri 1 Karawang Barat dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 40 siswa. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik probability sampling dengan spesifikasi cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes berupa uraian dan non tes berupa angket skala likert. Teknik pengolahan data yang akan digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji korelasi pearson. Hasil uji korelasi pearson menunjukkan bahwa nilai korelasi pearson yang diperoleh sebesar 0,520 dengan nilai signifikansinya adalah 0,001 < 0,05. Hal ini berarti menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dengan keeratan hubungan yang cukup.

Abstract

This article describes the influence of teachers' pedagogical understanding of mathematical abilities of vocational students in the application of learning models ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, and Satisfaction). The method used in this study is an experiment with a model of "pre-test post-test one group design". The population in this study  is the students of class X SMK Negeri 1 Karawang and the Samples are taken as one class. The research instruments consisted of the test the ability of understanding mathematical and questionnaire pedagogical competence of teachers. The findings of this study is based on a simple linear regression analysis showed that: there significant pedagogical competence of teachers to students' mathematical understanding capabilities in the application of learning models ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, and Satisfaction). Based on these conclusions, the teachers should always improve pedagogy for learning mathematics interested students so that the students' mathematics learning increases and may consider learning ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, and Satisfaction) can be used as an alternative learning in the classroom to improve the results of students' mathematics learning.Keywords: learning model ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, and Satisfaction), pedagogical competence of teachers, the ability of mathematical understanding

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the mathematical representation ability of students at the level of junior high school class IX. The subjects in this study were students of class IX B in one of the junior high schools in Klari District, Karawang Regency who were randomly selected with a total of 25 students. The method applied in this research is descriptive qualitative. The instrument in this research is by testing the ability of mathematical representation of the material of a two-variable linear equation system as many as 3 description questions. The data analysis technique used in the study consisted of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical representation ability of class IX B students at the school on the material of a two-variable linear equation system is in the low category.

Abstract

Kemampuan representasi matematis yang rendah dapat mempengaruhi cara siswa dalam memahami dan menyelesaikan soal matematika. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bagaimana kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu tiga siswa yang masing-masing mewakili siswa berkemampuan matematis tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa  secara keseluruhan kemampuan representasi matematis yang paling dikuasai siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah adalah kemampuan representasi simbolik dan kemampuan representasi yang paling tidak dikuasai oleh siswa adalah representasi gambar

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan metode deskriptif kualitatif, yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas X SMA dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA. 21 siswa kelas X di sebuah SMA di Kecamatan Cibitung, Kabupaten Bekasi, Jawa Barat menjadi subjek penelitian. Tes kemampuan literasi matematis berupa soal PISA yang diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia diaplikasikan sebagai instrument dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis yang dimiliki oleh siswa kelas X SMA dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA berada dalam kategori rendah. Hasil analisa data menunjukkan bahwa ketidakmampuan siswa dalam menginterpretasikan masalah sebesar 38,09%, ketidakmampuan siswa dalam menerapkan matematika ke dalam masalah sebesar 71,42%, dan ketidakmampuan siswa dalam memformulasikan masalah sebesar 71,42%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the mathematical representation ability of students in class XI of High School. The subject of this study were students of class XI MIPA 2 in a high school in Jatisari sub-district, Karawang Regency. The method and the approach that is used in this research is the descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The instrument in this research was a test instrument of mathematical representation ability with linear progam material as many as 3 items. Data analysis techniques used in this research consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing concluding. The result of this research were in the high category there were 4 students with an 18,18% percentage, in the medium category, there were 12 students with a 54,54% percentage, and in the low category 6 students were in the low category with a 27,28% percentage. It can be concluded that the mathematical representation ability of class XI MIPA 2 students in that school on the linear progam material is in the medium category.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe student’s mathematical understanding concept abilities based on concentration of learning. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII at one of junior high schools in Karawang and then choose 3 people based on considerations made by researchers through purposive sampling and through the levels concentration of learning, namely high, medium, and low. Data collection techniques in this study used a mathematical understanding concept abilities test, and concentration of learning questionnaires. The results of the study based on the analysis that has been done show that: students in the category of high learning concentration can fulfillall indicators of the ability understanding mathematical concepts, students in the category of middle learning concentration can fulfill 2 indicators of the ability understanding mathematical concepts, and students in the category of low learning concentration can fulfill 1 indicator of the ability understanding mathematical concepts.
