Abstract

This experimental quasi is aimed to know the influence of Co-op Co-op model independently on problem solving abilities in terms of student learning style. This research method is a quasy experiment with quantitative approach. The subjects of the study were the students of class X IPS 3 and Class X IPS 4. Subject take technique done by perposive sampling. The experimental class used the co-op self-co-op learning model and the control class using the conventional co-op co-op learning model. Data were collected using written test techniques to obtain data on problem solving abilities and student learning styles. Data analysis techniques in hypothesis testing using two away anava, followed by tukey test. The results of this study obtained the average value of experimental class 1 taught with Co-op self-co-op learning model is 65.56, the average experiment class 2 is 66.33 and the average control class that is taught by the model of learning Co-op conventional co-op is 59.83. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that (1) There is influence of independent co-op co-op model and learning style to problem solving ability, (2) Co-op Co-op model independent of problem solving ability, (3) learning styles on problem-solving skills and (4) there is an interaction between Co-op co-op models and learning styles in influencing problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of the NHT Integrated learning model on the ability to think creatively by controlling students' initial abilities. The method used is an experiment with anacova quantitative approach. The population is all students of class VII MTS. The sampling technique used by simple random sampling with 3 classes of samples. In the experimental class using the NHT integrated learning model and the control class using conventional NHT learning models. Data were collected using written test techniques, data analysis techniques in hypothesis testing using ancova with 3 x 1 factorial and continued with further testing. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that (1) There is an influence of the NHT integrated learning model on the ability to think creatively by controlling the early ability of mathematics. Given the value of Fcount = 8.96> Ftable 3.15 and significance of SPSS 0.000 compared to the value of α (0.05) then 0.000 <0.05 and the hypothesis is accepted. (2) There is a different effect of NHT integrated learning model on the ability to think creatively by controlling the initial ability of mathematics. With the value of Fcount = 49.192> Ftable 3.15 and the significance of SPSS 0.000 when compared with the value of α (0.05) then 0.000 <0.05 and the hypothesis is accepted. This difference is seen in the significance level of SPSS 0.001 <0.05, which means that the learning model in the experimental class is better than the control class learning model.

Abstract

Research and development of interactive multimedia development model is adapted from Lee & Owens;the steps were analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of learningmaterials proportion analysis based curriculum: tissues: organs: totipotensi was 40%: 40%: 20%. Theresults of need analysis of science process skills indicated that students are lack of ability in terms ofgrouping and concluding skill. The analysis also reveals that students need multimedia, which isinteresting and aesthetics. In the design phase, developers create a storyboard based on the results of theanalysis. In development stage, we input all information in storyboard to the media. According to mediaexperts, the product is scored well and very well. Trials phase is conducted in a small groups and largegroups. The results of tests shows that the skills of students increased from 69.34 to 89.30, and knowledgeof students also increased from 75.7 to 91.9. The effectiveness of interactive multimedia structure andfunction of plant tissue seen by the changes in knowledge, performance, and the positive response ofstudents using interactive multimedia and facilitate students doing science process skills.

Abstract

Lab activity is necessary in studying science especially physics. It is needed to support theoretical teaching activity in the classroom. Lab plays important roles in physics teaching-learning activities. The facts, many schools have inadequate lab facilities to support lab works and thus limited lab activities can be done. To improve physics teaching-learning activities with limited lab facilities, virtual lab is necessary to be developed to ensure that theoretical teaching materials are supported by lab activity in virtual manner. The purpose of this study was to develop virtual lab for subtopic of optics. Students’ responses on the virtual lab were obtained through small and large student groups. The final product was used in a real teaching activity and it shows that students paid more attention on the product and involved actively in virtual lab activity.

Abstract

Abstrak Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang keterlaksanaan tahap cognitive conflict dalam model Inkuiri terbimbing pada materi laju reaksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan keterlaksanaan cognitive conflict dalam model inkuiri terbimbing dan pengarunya terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi laju reaksi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Pre-Eksperimental dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One Group Pretest-Posttest. Pemilihan subjek dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling berdasarkan pertimbangan hasil tes awal pada materi termokimia, dimana 12 siswa dengan nilai tertinggi pada kelas XI IPA 4 SMAN 10 Kota Jambi dijadikan subjek penelitian. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar observasi dengan hasil keseluruhan persentase aktivitas keterlaksanaan oleh guru 73% dengan kriteria baik. Kemudian hasil keterlaksanaan tahap cognitve conflict dalam model inkuiri terbimbing oleh siswa sebesar 75,13% dengan kategori baik, serta hasil posttest memiliki rata-rata 76, sehingga korelasi menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,174>0,05 yang berarti terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara dua variabel, yaitu Ha diterima. Sehingga terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing dengan penambahan tahap cognitive conflict terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa.

Abstract

KTSP curriculum changed into the 2013 curriculum making the assessment of students no longer only focus on cognitive aspects, but also focused on the process of character building during the learning process. This study aims to describe the process of internalizing character values ​​in mathematics learning at MAN Insan Cendekia school in Jambi in the context of the 2013 curriculum. Descriptive qualitative research methods is employed to describe the internalization process through the provision of questionnaire instruments with closed questions, observation in the mathematics learning process, and in-depth interviews. The internalization process of character values in each study is a significant way of shaping the character of each student, strengthening the 2013 curriculum which emphasizes soft skills is a guideline that must be done by each teacher in the learning process in the classroom. The results of the study explained that the subject of the study carried out an internalization process of character values by accepting and carrying out the tasks given by the teacher with the basics of philosophical understanding that was used during the learning process of mathematics.

Abstract

Students’ cognitive engagement in teaching and learning process is an important factor for successful learning. Improvement of students’cognitive engagement was investigated through a teaching and learning process using POE (predict-observe-explain) approach and self-developed interactive media. The objective of this study is to improve students’ cognitive engagement in teaching and learning process at junior high school. The development of interactive multimedia uses Animate CC and Four D and its validation were explained. The self-developed interactive multimedia was used with POE approachin teaching and learning process at junior high school. This three steps predict-observe-explain approach is used and students higher order thinking and total participants showing higher order thinking characteritics were analysed. It was found that the self-developed interactive multimedia isto contribute to the students’ active cognitive engagement.

Abstract

Teaching and learning science in SMPN 9 Jambi Municipality, Indonesia do not encourage students to improve their argumentation competence. This research aims at investigating the implementation of discovery learning model with portfolio to improve the quality of students’ argumentation competence from both the teacher and students’ role. It investigates the learning environments that might be helpful for the implementation of discovery learning model with portfolio to improve the students’ argumentation skills. This research also investigate to what extent the discovery learning model with portfolio can improve students’ argumentation competence in learning science subjects. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which adopted Kemmis and Mc Taggart’s model consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Participants involved in this research were the seventh graders of SMPN 9 Jambi Municipality (Class VII.H). This research employed observation sheets and documentation as the instruments of collecting the data. Findings of the research showed that discovery learning model with portfolio assignment can improve the students’ argumentation skills through its procedures and explanation of designing portfolio as learning media, and students’ argumentation skills as well as the learning environment which support the implementation of discovery learning with portfolio assignment. Safe, comfort, and meaningful learning environments can encourage students to learn actively which in turn can support their learning to improve the argumentation skills in learning science subject.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world's top coffee producing and exporting countries. Liberica coffee was one of the most widely cultivated types of coffee in Indonesia, especially in Tanjung Jabung Barat Jambi Province. Liberica coffee known as the coffee with highest levels of caffeine if compared with Arabica and Robusta coffee but the research about Liberica coffee was still very little if compared to the other two types of coffee. In the previous research, caffeine shown to be increasing alanine aminotransferase enzyme. Otherwise, coffee also contain chlorogenic acid which is a potent antioxidant and play a role in the protection of liver. The aim of this study are to investigate the effect of dark roasted Liberica coffee consumption on liver histological appearance, macroscopic anatomy and physiological function (serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) level). This was an experimental study with posttest only control group design, using 45 male white mice and divided into 4 groups: control (with no coffee treatment), P1, P2 and P3 which were given coffee treatment consecutively 8000 ppm; 10.000 ppm and 12.000 ppm for 28 days. The result showed that liver histological damage level associated with the extent coffee intake. Although, the damage shown is still in a low level and has no impact in increasing SGPT level.Keywords : Liberica coffee, Liver, Histological appearance, SGPT level

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menghasilkan modul digital pembelajaran matematika berbasis pendekatan open ended untuk  meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE. Adapun langkah-langkahnya meliputi validasi kesenjangan kinerja,menetapkan tujuan, analisis peserta didik termasuk analisis konsep dan analisis tugas, analisis sumberdaya, membuat rencana kerja, desain produk, validasi ahli, uji coba perorangan, uji coba kelompok kecil, dan uji coba praktikalitas. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Taruna Indonesia Jambi Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Jenis data yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket terbuka berupa lembar validasi, lembar penilaian guru, angket tanggapan dan angket tertutup berupa angket persepsi siswa, serta tes berpikir kreatif matematis berupa masalah open ended. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa modul digital pembelajaran matematika berbasis pendekatan open ended dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa, hal ini berdasarkan hasil uji gain diperoleh skor 0.55 dengan kriteria peningkatan sedang
