Abstract

Abstract The present study aimed to 1) investigate the effect of self-regulated learning on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability; 2) describe the cognitive processes carried out by students with low and high self-regulation and high problem-solving ability. This study employed an explanatory mixed-method design. Nineteen students at a private high school, in Makassar, Indonesia, were selected, in order to complete the questionnaire, mathematical problem-solving ability test. Of the 19 students, two were selected as research subjects representing problem-solving ability. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, while the qualitative data analysis had to go through the following stages including, reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that 1) self-regulated learning had no effect on students’ mathematical ability; 2) the cognitive processes carried out by students with high self-regulation and high problem-solving ability included high literacy ability, high metacognitive awareness, being proactive yet inflexible; 3) the cognitive processes carried out by students with low self-regulation and high problem-solving ability included low literacy ability but showing more flexible attitudes. From this study, it can be concluded that problem-solving ability is not influenced by self-regulated learning, but by other factors such as the environment, cognitive ability and cognitive preparedness. Keywords: Problem-solving ability; self-regulated learning. Abstract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) menginvestigasi pengaruh self-regulated learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa; 2) mendeskripsikan proses kognitif yang dilakukan siswa dengan self-regulation rendah dan tinggi dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan explanatory mixed-method design. Sembilan belas siswa sekolah menengah swasta, di Makassar, Indonesia, dipilih untuk mengisi angket tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Dari 19 siswa tersebut, dipilih dua orang sebagai subjek penelitian yang mewakili kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial, sedangkan analisis data kualitatif melalui tahapan yaitu, reduksi data, menampilkan data, penarikan Kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) self-regulated learning tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan matematika siswa; 2) proses kognitif yang dilakukan siswa dengan self-regulated learning tinggi dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah tinggi meliputi kemampuan literasi tinggi, kesadaran metakognitif tinggi, proaktif namun tidak fleksibel; 3) Proses kognitif yang dilakukan siswa dengan self-regulated learning rendah dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah tinggi meliputi kemampuan literasi rendah tetapi menunjukkan sikap lebih fleksibel. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah tidak dipengaruhi oleh self-regulated learning, melainkan oleh faktor lain seperti lingkungan, kemampuan kognitif, dan kesiapan kognitif. Keywords: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah, self-regulated learning.

Abstract

The type of this research is Classroom Action Research, the purpose of this study, is to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class X students at the Applied Techno Flight Vocational School of Makassar through Macromedia Flash-based Learning Media. having its address at Jl. Sanrangan, No. 24 Makassar 2017/2018 school year. As for the subjects of this study were X class students totaling 28 students, consisting of 8 men and 20 women. This research was conducted in two cycles. The data collection techniques used in the study were 1) Data on student learning outcomes were taken through tests of learning outcomes given to students in each cycle. (2) Data on the implementation of learning with macromedia flash learning media is taken through observation sheets of student activities and observation sheets of learning management activities through the macromedia flash media. Data Analysis Techniques that are used are descriptive data analysis by giving an overview of student learning outcomes through tests and observation sheets on each cycle. The types of data collected in this study are quantitative data for student learning outcomes and qualitative data for student activities in learning and student response data to learning with flash macromedia media ... As for the results of this study are (a) Learning outcomes of class X SMK Techno Makassar flights can be improved through the application of media learning media macromedia flash (2) Learning through the application of learning media to macromedia flash learning media can increase the active role of students in the learning process. Abstract

This study discusses the critical thinking profile of SMP students in solving geometry problems. Critical thinking in this study refers to Facione's critical thinking, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, eVIIIplanation and self regulation. The purpose of this study is to describe the critical thinking profile of SMP students in solving geometry problems in terms of the visualizer-verbalizer cognitive style so that this research is an eVIIIplorative study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study it was found that the critical thinking profile of students who have cognitive visualizer and verbalizer style in understanding problems can mention what is known and asked about the problem, but subjects with cognitive verbalizer style can eVIIIpress the contents of the problem using their own words even though some of the sentences still adopt from the problem. Whereas in terms of planning problem solving, carrying out plans and checking again, the subject of visualizer and verbalizer style tends to have the same profile. Abstract

This type of research is Research and Development (Research and Development) which aims to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics especially Geometry material through the development of interactive animation-based learning media by adapting the development model of Tiagarajah known as 4 D namely define, design, design, develop (dissemination) and disseminate. This research was conducted at the Makassar Applied Techno Vocational School in 2018/2019 academic year, and the research subjects were Grade X students. The results showed that the learning media based on interactive animation media showed highly valid criteria with a validity value of 3.59, the effectiveness of learning using interactive animation media mathematics learning obtained a percentage of 91.75% and the effectiveness of interactive animation media based on mathematics learning outcomes showed the percentage classical completeness reaches 83%, so it can be said that the interactive animation media developed meets valid and effective criteria. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk membandingkan hasil belajar pokok bahasan kubus dan balok, siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatiif tipe NHT dengan TSTS. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Bajiminasa yang berjumlah 61 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI.A berjumlah 31 siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dan siswa kelas XI.B yang berjumlah 30 siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran tipe TSTS. Data dikumpul melalui pemberian tes hasil belajar matematika pada pokok bahasan kubus dan balok. Pengolahan datanya menggunakan statistic deskriptif dan statistic inferensial. Hasil analisis data penelitian diperoleh bahwa hasil belajar matematika yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran koperatif tipe NHT berada pada kategori tinggi dengan rata-rata sebesar 67,58 dan standar deviasi 16,244. Sedangkan hasil belajar matematika yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS berada pada kategori sedang dengan rata-rata 59,20 dan standar deviasi 12,12. Sedangkan hasil analisis statistic inferensial diperoleh t hitung > t table yang berarti ada perbedaan hasil belajar mtematika pada pokok bahasan kubus dan balok siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berbeda dengan hasil belajar yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada siswa kelas IX SMK TECHNO TERAPAN MAKASSAR setelah diberi soal HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill). Adapun jenis dan subjek penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, sedangkan subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMK TECHNO TERAPAN MAKASSAR sebanyak 16 siswa. Pada siklus I skor rata-rata keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa yang dilihat dari hasil belajarnya yaitu 67,63 dengan standar deviasi 10,67, skor tertinggi 87 dan skor terendah 51 dari skor ideal 100. Jumlah siswa yang tuntas adalah 6 orang (37,5%) dari 16 siswa, Selanjutnya pada siklus II rata- rata keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dilihat dari hasil belajarnya yaitu 75,75, dengan standar deviasi 8,941, skor tertinggi 92 dan skor terendah 62 dari skor ideal 100. Jumlah siswa yang tuntas adalah 14 orang (87,5%) dari 16 siswa. Dengan demikian setelah diberi soal HOTS dengan penerapan pendekatan saintifik dapat Meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dalam pembelajaran sehingga kegiatan belajar mengajar dalam kelas tidak hanya berpusat pada guru tetapi juga berpusat pada siswa.

Abstract

Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Jambatan Bulan merupakan salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta yang telah menggunakan google classroom sebagai media pembelajaran di masa pandemi covid-19. Untuk mengaktifkan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran pada mata kuliah matematika ekonomi, diperlukan suatu metode tertentu agar pembelajaran lebih hidup, salah satunya adalah model pembelajaran berpikir induktif. Dalam kegiatan induktif ini di bawah bimbingan dan arahan dosen melalui google classroom, mahasiswa aktif belajar matematika secara individu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran berpikir induktif berbantuan Google Classroom pada Program Studi Ekonomi Pembangunan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Jambatan Bulan ditinjau dari 3 aspek yaitu aktivitas siswa, hasil belajar siswa, dan tanggapan siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One Shot Case Study. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar tes hasil belajar, dan lembar angket respons siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data ditemukan bahwa (1) aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran berpikir induktif berbantuan google classroom aktif ditunjukkan oleh 85,15% siswa melakukan aktivitas seperti yang diinginkan peneliti; (2) ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal ditunjukkan oleh 86,96% siswa memenuhi standar; dan (3) respons siswa yang positif. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran berpikir induktif berbantuan Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran matematika ekonomi dikatakan efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach in mathematics learning to improve students' critical thinking skills through a literature review method. The STEAM approach integrates various disciplines with the aim of creating relevant and innovative learning experiences, so as to support the development of critical thinking skills. This study utilizes a literature review method, where various sources such as scientific journal articles, academic books, and related publications are analyzed to identify the impact of the STEAM approach on improving students' critical thinking skills in mathematics learning. The analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively by reviewing the results of previous studies that discussed the implementation of STEAM. Based on this study, it was found that the application of STEAM in mathematics learning consistently had a positive impact on improving students' critical thinking skills. This is due to the nature of the STEAM approach which encourages collaboration, analytical thinking, and the application of theoretical concepts to practical contexts. This study shows that the STEAM approach is effective in developing high-level thinking skills and can be used as an innovative learning model at various levels of education.

Abstract

Purpose – Nineteenth-century novels functioned not only as literary texts but also as ideological sites where morality, gender norms, and women’s ethical roles were constructed, negotiated, and contested. This makes stylistic analysis a productive approach for examining how literary language encodes women’s ethics in canonical fiction.This study examines how language style constructs, reinforces, and challenges the representation of women’s ethics in three nineteenth-century canonical novels and proposes its relevance for critical literacy Methods – This study employed a qualitative stylistic design to analyze Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, and Madame Bovary. The analysis focused on metaphors, similes, irony, repetition, and narrative strategies. Metaphors were identified using MIPVU, narrative structure was examined through Genette’s narratological framework, and inter-coder reliability was calculated using Cohen’s κ on a 15% subset of the corpus Findings – The findings show that each novel foregrounds a distinct stylistic pattern. Austen predominantly uses social irony and domestic metaphor, Brontë emphasizes emotional simile, repetition, and internal focalization, and Flaubert relies heavily on narrative irony and descriptive narration. The inter-coder reliability ranged from κ = 0.77 to κ = 0.84, indicating substantial agreement across the coding categories. Across the corpus, irony and metaphor emerged as the most salient comparative features Research implications – The study also proposes a theoretically grounded instructional model for critical literacy development through structured stylistic annotation, LMS-based discussion, and evidence-based literary interpretation in digital or blended learning contexts Originality – The language style in nineteenth-century fiction functions not merely as an aesthetic device but as an ideological instrument that shapes and contests women’s ethics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi presisi pengukuran instrumen hasil belajar dengan memanfaatkan keunggulan metrik Item Response Theory (IRT). Berbeda dengan Classical Test Theory (CTT) yang mengasumsikan kesalahan pengukuran konstan, penelitian ini menganalisis variabilitas Fungsi Informasi Tes (TIF) dan Standard Error of Measurement (SE(θ)) di sepanjang kontinum kemampuan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif-evaluatif dengan melibatkan 620 responden yang mengerjakan 45 butir soal pilihan ganda dikotomus. Kalibrasi dilakukan menggunakan Model 3-Parameter Logistik (3PL) melalui Software Xcalibre pada lingkungan R untuk mengestimasi parameter daya beda (a), tingkat kesulitan (b), dan tebakan semu (c). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa model 3PL memiliki kesesuaian yang sangat baik dengan data (RMSEA = 0,051; SRMR = 0,042). Temuan utama mengindikasikan bahwa TIF mencapai nilai maksimum sebesar 25,80 pada tingkat kemampuan = +0,25, yang berkorespondensi dengan nilai SE(θ) minimum sebesar 0,197. Sebaliknya, pada rentang kemampuan ekstrem (θ < -2.0 and θ > +2.5), nilai SE(θ) meningkat tajam hingga mencapai 0,392, yang menunjukkan penurunan presisi pengukuran secara signifikan. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa presisi penskoran bersifat heteroskedastik atau bergantung pada tingkat kemampuan individu. Oleh karena itu, institusi pendidikan direkomendasikan untuk beralih dari pelaporan skor tunggal ke pelaporan skor yang disertai dengan Interval Kepercayaan 95% guna meminimalisir bias interpretasi. Selain itu, pengembangan tes di masa depan perlu menambah butir soal dengan tingkat kesulitan ekstrem untuk meratakan distribusi informasi tes.
