Abstract

Developments in the city of Palangka Raya y giving different temperature between urban and sub-urban. Phenomenon that  cities have warmer temperatures than sub-urban and rural areas called Urban Heat Island (UHI). This study aims to find out about the development of the UHI phenomenon in the city of Palangka Raya  from 2000  to 2018 using remote sensing and geographical system. Based on the analysis of the TIR band landsat 7,  in Kota Palangka Raya since 2000 has been UHI phenomenon, where high Land Surface Temperature (LST) was found dominantly in urban areas  compared to sub-urban areas . In 2018, as Palangka Raya city  had developed, based on the result of TIR band Landsat 8, the distribution of high LST not only found in the urban area, but in the sub-urban zone, especially at  Menteng Urban Village and Panarung Urban Village. The development of UHI in Palangka Raya city over eighteen years (2000-2018) show  in the sub-urban area  experienced changes of UHIindex’s area more dynamic than the urban area. Urban development causing to conversion of  vegetated land into impervious land,  which greatly affects the energy balance. The increase in impervious areas causes more solar radiation  that reaches the surfaces of the earth   more absorbing and it is converted into sensible thermal  energy which increases the surface temperature.

Abstract

The city of Bandung is one part of the Greater Bandung Area which has been designated as a National Activity Center (PKN) which has a role as a collection and distribution center on international, national, and several provincial scales. This has resulted in a high level of development driven by the pace of the economy and population growth which continues to increase in the city of Bandung, resulting in an increase in the need for built-up land which is accompanied by a decrease in non-built land, especially green open space, so that it can affect the temperature and humidity of the air as well as the thermal comfort of the microclimate or temperature. This research aims to identify the distribution of THI as a measure of the level of thermal comfort in Bandung City. The approach is remote sensing, specifically utilizing Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS image processing for 2013 and 2023 on Google Earth Engine Software. The data processing process goes through several stages, including NDVI processing, land cover classification, surface temperature, and THI. After going through these stages, it was found that the distribution of temperature humidity index values in 2023 in Bandung City was dominated by the uncomfortable class (>26°C).

Abstract

The agricultural sector plays an important role in efforts to deal with food availability. National food independence is one of the programs that is the government's focus. Especially amid the threat of a world food crisis. President Joko Widodo emphasized the need for cooperation to build food independence by developing food according to the characteristics of each region. East Java Province, one of the potential areas, has agricultural land covering an area of 2.29 million Ha. It was recorded that in 2019 it converted 9,597 Ha of agricultural land which was used for warehousing, industry, and property areas. This is because the industrial, residential, and other service sectors are seen as more profitable than agriculture. This paper aims to identify rice fields, plan food crop areas for Protected Rice Fields, and determine the food needs of the population in Malang Regency. Knowing this can be a basis for developing agricultural land policies in Malang Regency. The method used is descriptive quantitative and High-Resolution Satellite Imagery remote sensing techniques in 2022. Existingly, some are in non-rice field land use and are divided into 10 classifications. The results show that in 2022 the rice fields within the protected rice fields area will only be 28,089.24 ha, and outside the protected rice fields area of 1,391.11 ha, capable of producing 335,455.62 tons of rice, it is predicted that this will meet the population's need for rice until 2031. Food crop area plan The spatial plans within the protected rice fields covering an area of 33,436.32 hectares is capable of producing 381,798.62 tons of rice, with this amount of rice production predicted to still be able to meet the population's needs until 2047, when the population's rice needs will be 380,649.69 tons.6.044,82 ha. So recommendations are needed to improve data on raw rice fields and land protection strategies.

Abstract

The Market is one land use activity that can have an impact on congestion. Situated in Kalitidu District, Kalitidu Market serves as a Regional Service Center (PPK) for the Bojonegoro Regency. As Kalitidu Market is a market in the PKK region of Bojonegoro Regency, its operations frequently result in traffic jams. The study's goal was to predict Kalitidu Market's parking demands using multiple linear regression analysis, off-street parking user characteristic analysis, and the calculation of off-street parking capacity needs. For two-wheeled automobiles in the Kalitidu market, the following model is used to determine parking space requirements: Ya = 0,071 (X5) – (1,257 -0,005(X1) + 0,012(X2) + 0,012(X3) -57,044(X4) + 0,002(X6). The number of cars entering the area, the number leaving it, the number of vehicles entering the area initially, the amount of time the vehicles are parked, and the number of guests bringing vehicles are all factors that affect the requirement for parking for two-wheeled vehicles. 34 vehicles per hour are therefore required to have parking spaces for two-wheeled cars.

Abstract

Waste bank is informal waste recycling facility using the principle of community participation in reducing waste generation. Berkah Bersatu Waste bank was established in 2021 but the number of registered customers remains constant. Therefore, this study investigates participation decisions made by the villager. This cross-sectional study used data collected from 148 households randomly. Through a series of analysis, the impact of 24 influential factors on participation decision-making was explored using logistic regression analyses. The results showed seven variables are positively related to community participation in waste bank i.e. age, residence status, trash bin availability, knowledge of environmental issues, individual’s interest, intrinsic motivation, and norm existence. Probability calculation using the model shows the maximum probability is 99% if all determinants play role in the area indicating that most villagers are willing to participate in waste separation and reduction as they become WB member.

Abstract

This paper discusses Multicultural Education in the Philosophy of Islamic Education. The purpose of this study is to give us an understanding of multicultural education which is a concept, idea, or philosophy as a set of beliefs and explanations that recognize and assess the importance of cultural and ethnic diversity in shape the lifestyle, social experience, personal identity, educational opportunities of individuals, groups, and countries. Such multicultural education is very urgent to be implemented in educational practice. This is because education with a multicultural perspective is believed to be able to grow and develop students to become individuals who are not only proud of themselves (the culture, language, and other specialties they have), but are also able to recognize, accept, respect the different specialties that other people have. ready to live in harmony. Multicultural education has conceptual relations and relevance to Islamic religious doctrine

Abstract

The land use and land cover change phenomenon has brought social and economic benefits such as agricultural land expansion, which increases food production for a rapidly growing population. On the other hand, it has also been reported to impact terrestrial ecosystem change and its service, including climate change control. The study aimed to estimate CO2 emission from land use and land cover change in Banyuwangi during 1995–2019 and formulate mitigation options to reduce CO2 emission. Four satellite images from 1995, 2000, 2014, and 2019 were used to classify land use and cover and then investigate the changes. This study applies a historical-based approach to estimate emissions to project future emissions using REDD Abacus SP software. There are 12 land use and land cover based on supervised classification: primary forest, secondary forest, plantation forest, mangrove forest, plantation, settlement, cropland, paddy field, shrubs, water, fishpond, and barren land. The land use and land cover change during the period 1995 to 2019 increased both CO2 emissions and sequestration. From 1995 to 2019, land use and land cover change in Banyuwangi emitted 1,5 million tons of CO2-eq/yr and sequestered 0,5 million tons of CO2-eq/yr. Under Business as Usual (BAU) or without mitigation effort, the emission will decrease to 1,2 million tons CO2-eq/yr in 2030. The implementation of the Regional Spatial Plan (RSP) prepared by the Banyuwangi Regency Government is projected to reduce emissions by 47.59% of net emissions from emission without mitigation. If the RSP scenario is added with efforts to prevent deforestation, net emissions can be reduced by 89.21%. Implementing Banyuwangi RSP can become best practice mitigation because it prioritizes the balance of protected areas and cultivation and maintains economic growth.
